Currently, my faves are: Its Too Bad - The Jam Down In The Tube Station - The Jam Substitute - The Sex Pistols version - Matlock was/is very under appreciated Pump It Up - Elvis Costello Nice & Sleazy - The Stranglers London Calling - The Clash Safe European Home - The Clash The Real Me - The Who
Are you actually me in disguise?
2. Just completed a trade with Andy (my Ampeg Micro stack for his Hofner Club bass), and it couldn't have gone any smoother. Really nice guy, drove 2 and a half hours up to my place to pick up the stack and drop the bass off (the mad fool!). Pleasure to deal with. Tredders
3. Welcome! I get over to Grand Rapids once a year with work, and love the place. There's a decent Guitar Center just over the street from Woodland Mall which I've spent more than a few hours in on my last couple of visits!
4. Bump - let me know what you have for trades
5.
Hi Mark, did my email come through? Mike
Nope - nothing this end...
6. Thanks for posting. Looking forward to seeing the '51 P. Skyline version on the way, too...
7. Had a couple of interesting trade offers on this, which I'm seriously looking at now. However, I do need the money at the moment, so if someone does offer the asking price.....
8.
Heya, Sorry to hi-jack this thread but thought I'd post in here rather than start a new thread. So I have a gig in Spain on 20th November. I don't have a flight case nor do I have any plans to invest in one just for this gig. I've been on the websites of Easyjet, Ryanair and Aer Lingus checking out their hand luggage policies which I think are the cheap airlines that fly to Malaga, Spain (I'm on a budget here so BA and other expensive airlines would be out of the question). All websites say I can't take an instrument as big as a bass (or a guitar for my band mates) on board so would need to check it in... My question is what are the chances of us having our instruments placed at the front of the plane? I mean we don't want to check in our gear without flight cases. Would dissembling our instruments into two pieces (body and neck) be a better option because then it'll fall under the correct measurements of taking an instrument on board as hand luggage. Thanks!
In my experience, the cheaper the airline, the less chance you've got of having them stow it in the cabin for you. When I've flown with work (full priced regular or premium economy), they've been happy to stow a bass for me. However, on two or three occasions when I've been flying on cheaper airlines, I've seen people pleading with check in staff to allow them to take guitars on board without success.
9.
would you split only after the cab ?
I'd prefer to sell them together. Pity, as I had 2 of the cabs and just sold one to a mate...
10. Bump - Just added the pics I forgot to put on the sale thread initially!
11.
You still got the cab you bought from me last month?? bump
For the moment, yes. I bought another one after getting yours (the stack sounded great with 2 cabs!), but a mate of mine is having your old one
12. As soon as I sell my Ampeg Micro Stack, I'll be all over this....
13. Hi all I bought this about a month ago from PMT in Brum, and whilst it's exactly what I thought it would be (i.e. proper Ampeg sounds in a small and light package), it's not what I need right now after all. It's ridiculously light, but very rich & warm sounding, and (I'm told, and have read on BassChat) will happily handle smaller gigs. Or larger ones if you add a second cab It's been used in my home practise room only, and has never left the house. Goes without saying it's absolutely in the same condition as when it left the shop a month ago, and I have the boxes and sealed instruction books. Oh, and the receipt. It's 200W @ 4 ohms, 150W @ 8 ohms, has an input for iPod / other music player, and a useful headphone jack. A few pics: - Couple of reviews here: - Nice Youtube review Official Ampeg product page (with specs etc) Musician's Friend review Cost me £449, which seems to be the going rate online, too. Rather than faff around and start at £400, to be haggled down, I'm asking for a firm £375, plus collection (from j.12 M40) or meet up (I travel a fair bit with work). I don't want to lose a fortune on this (£75 in 4 weeks is enough for me!), so will keep it if I don't get what I'm after. You're welcome to organise a courier (or I will at cost) - I've still got the boxes and packing materials for the amp & cab. Things I'd trade for: - 4 string Variax bass 4 string acoustic bass Something valvey (like the VBA400 currently for sale) All original '62 Precision, with original case, hang tags & strings. I might add a tenner or two towards this. Or, try me with what you've got. Any questions, just ask. Cheers Tredders
14. You might want to put this in the Items Wanted section mate. Probably get more luck in there.
15. I flew back from Grand Rapids last year with a Hofner Violin bass (in a hard case) that I bought over there. They happily let me bring it onto the plane as hand luggage, and stowed it at the front of the plane for me. On the way back from New York last month, there was a chap with a guitar in a gig bag, and they did the same for him. Most airlines have guidelines for flying with instruments buried somewhere on their websites.
16. Very nice! Bet they sound great out of that Ampeg rig, too...
17. What kind of neck does this have on it? Never played a Telecaster bass, but have lusted after one for ages....
18.
Has anyone bought from this guy? http://www.nicksguitars.com/basses.htm Has a nice looking '68 P.
Ah balls! They have a birth year ('68) Precision on there for me! Now, where can I magic £2675 from?

DNS issue

Yeah, I was getting server errors from OpenDNS, but when I disabled that and went with my ISP's default, it loaded fine. Weird.
