1.
So essentially false advertising, without even any small print. Looks like the sort of online people i like to avoid.
They obviously trade under different names & websites, as when I called them initially to check stock, they asked which website I saw the prices on. When I told them, the guy said he'd check stock and get back to me. Sure enough, he called back, which is when he told me they were ex-demo units which couldn't be posted. He mentioned something about "these prices were automatically imported from our other website and shouldn't have been", so whether they were shown as display stock on their other site (whatever it it), I don't know.

2.
er, lol. They've priced the 150W 10" the same as the 350W 2x10 :)

Has to be a mistake.
I rang up yesterday, trying to buy one of the 2 x 10 combos. These "special prices" are all ex-display stock (with very limited numbers) and they can't ship them, so collection only in Manchester or Liverpool.

Pity - I quite fancied one of the 2x10's...

3. I've had my Flightcase for 5 months now, and absolutely love it. It's tiny, but kicks out 150 watts and has a beautiful tone, which makes it perfect for practise, rehearsals and small gigs. It's served me well in recent rehearsals, sounding great against a reasonably normal drummer (is there any such thing?!?) and a loud guitard. However, it looks as though we're going to be out gigging soon, so I'm after something a little more powerful to be on the safe side and to give me some room to grow if the venues get any larger that the initial gigs planned. The Flightcase is unmarked, hasn't been gigged, and has only left the house twice since I've had it. It comes with the PJ cover seen in the last pic.

There's a decent video review of it from the Bass Whisperer here - you can also get some idea of how small it is on that video, too.

Pricewise, these are £620 at Bass Direct (Here). I'm looking for £350 collected from nr Warwick or £368.50 posted (I've measured it and got prices from RM - 3 day service, insured for £500). I've got the original box and manuals, so posting won't be too much of an issue.

Trade wise, it looks as though I'm sorted on a rig now, so will consider pretty much anything for this now. I'd be particularly interested in a CIJ P bass, or similar. Try me!

Any questions, just ask.

Cheers

4. I'm selling my GT-6B, as I really don't use it. It's in very good condition, and works perfectly. There's a small scratch on the corner, which you can't really notice, but I've taken a photo of it to highlight it.

I don't have the original box, but it'll be packaged securely, and I'll download the latest copy of the manual and pop it onto CD.

Would possibly trade for a Bass Pod XT Live, as I want to try the amp modelling. In fact, try me with whatever trades you have - I might just be interested!

I'm looking for £130 for this collected, or £140 posted (as it's pretty heavy). Sold (in about 10 minutes!)

5.
Hey, Something is kinda eating at me with this...

I am really interested but I have a few Q's....

My friend who just got one of these 2009 model US (reason i'm interested) but his came with the Tolex tweed hardcase with the Certificates and all the cables etc.... do you still have all of these (obviously you have the cable, strap etc) but also his came pre screwed in with the 'ashtrays' but your doesn't seem to have the bridge cover even screwed.

Would you be able to either post or PM the serial? Just to do neccessary check et al!!!

Kind Regards

JT
Hi Joe

I've PM-d you the serial number.

Cheers

Mark.

6. Had a few PMs today on this, so to answer the questions I've been asked: -

1. The bass is pretty light - from my crude "balance it on the bathroom scales" method, it weighs just under 8lbs, so lighter than my Stingray and quite a bit lighter than my '76 P bass.
2. I don't have the original (crappy) Fender retro case, as I opted to buy a flightcase at the time I bought the bass, to protect it in transit. I'm keeping the flightcase, as per my earlier posts.
3. The bass comes with both ashtrays (bridge and pickup covers).
4. As standard, the pickup cover holes are pre-drilled, but the bridge ones aren't. I had my guitar tech drill the holes for the bridge cover, which he's done. He even stained the holes to match the paintwork, so they blend in if you remove the bridge cover.
5. The bass came with the retro Fender strap, the retro lead, 2 spare screws for the covers, and all of the following documents: Lacquer finishes: Precautions and Care, original hang tag (with inspection info & serial number on), red Lacquer warning tag, Warranty tag, Fender 'Thank You' tag, Fender Owner's Registration card (blank), and Owner's Manual.
6. The serial number is V179*** (PM me if you need the rest)
7. It has TI flats on it, and was professionally setup about 6 weeks ago.
8. Everything's original and untouched (it's months old!). The only difference from when it left the factory is the bridge cover now has holes. Oh, and it's now been setup properly!!!
9. I won't ship abroad - apologies if this upsets anyone, but (1) I've had one bass trashed in transit a couple of years ago, and (2) it's too much hassle and risk. I'd really prefer a meetup to do the deal anyway.

I think that's about it, but feel free to ask any other questions. I've been playing the bass over the last month or so (only limited home use - it's never left the house), and love it, so I really don't mind either way if this sells or not. Having said that, my credit card would probably breathe a sigh of relief if someone does buy it...

Cheers

7.
HI new member here.
Has anyone compared Phil Jones Flight Case (150watt, €800, 10kg)
V New Fender Bassman TV10 (150watt, €735.00, 20kg ?)
Interested in side by side comparisons
Well, I've got a Phil Jones Flightcase... if someone wasn't to give me a Bassman, I'll happily do the comparison :)

8. I've just realised the best thing about this phone... I can use and abuse it for 6 months, have it in my pocket along with my keys and coins, and then sell it twice what I paid under the guise of it being "nicely mojo-d" or a "relic" edition. Genius!

9.
Its more than the setup unfortunately.

:)

Its things that cannot be rectified without going back to the manufacturer.
Ouch! That's shocking...

10. The setup on my £1500 RRP '62 Re-Issue Precision was shocking, too. The neck was bowed, saddles all over the place, and it was close to being unplayable. A proper setup sorted it all out, but you'd think that it would be half decent straight from the factory.
