Nice catch, especially at that price. I bought the Flightcase model, and love it. Plenty loud enough for rehearsals, and it had a lovely clean sound (unlike my old Trace, which had a tendency of making everything sound the same).
I'll probably upgrade mine to a Suitcase at some point.... -
I bought it today (first time in a while) and thought it was an improvement. Enjoyed the Horace Panter / Bedders interviews, and whilst there's a fair bit in there that didn't interest me, I recognise that you're not going to please all the people all the time, so will more likely go back to being a regular reader again. Funnily enough, with the downloadable MP3's, I actually paid attention to the tuition section at the end of the mag, which is a first.
As the previous posted said, it's the only UK bass mag, so it needs supporting. -
Says 68 on the neck.
Erm, yes. How did I miss that?
And now I'm on a decent sized monitor, instead of my phone, it clearly doesn't say 1966 on the case, either.
Anyway, beautiful bass. I'll get me coat now... -
That's beautiful. I was going to ask what year it is, but can see '1966' on the case - is that right?
-
They're cracking basses. I had one and sold on here a couple of years ago. That's a really good price, too.
-
Just to really rub it in, mine arrived today and it's really very cool indeed. I'll definitely be up for some more if other colours or designs are planned.

Just bought a Guild Ashbory from Steve. Nice quick delivery, and it's exactly as it was described. Cheers mate!
Simple tredders _ you sell me you 62 and you buy OG's JV!
Nah, I'm still holding out for your JJB
You know you just need a picture of your US work of art and you can play this one without the museum archive gloves
That's too close to the truth to be funny!
Anyway, the '62 is back from the setup on Saturday, & will be freshly strung with TI flats, so I'm planning on giving it a good seeing to (oo-er) over the weekend and see how it plays. -
What's the build time on a Shuker Tomsk signature bass these days?
-
Absolutely gorgeous. These JV's are the absolute business, and I love the cracked lacquer on this one.
If I'd not just bought my US '62 re-issue, I'd be all over this. -
That cherryburst '78 is gorgeous mate! What do you think to the Mike Dirnt? It's been one of those "nearly" basses for me for ages...
-
PM sent.
Right... the gorgeous white Jap Jazz is on its way.
I'm far too excited for Thursday morning when the lovely DHL man brings me my new baby!
Impulse buying - gotta love it.
Shame that I've had to borrow £200 from the father, looks like I'm going to be working overtime to get him paid back. Or, I might sell my Squier Vintage Mod to one of you guys? Failing that, to eBay I shall venture!
Did you order the one from Far East then? Looks lovely in the pics.

Worked fine for me, Dave. I paid via Paypal (linked from the Payloadz site). Wavs are just downloading now...

Having seen this bass in the flesh, it's an absolute beauty. Sounds great, too (except when I played it!).
After losing out on a MIJ (Salmon Pink) '62 Jazz Bass on eBay last night (probably to one of you evil people) due to being caught out by £1 in the last five seconds, I've decided I really need one in my life.
Would anyone be willing to sell one, or know anyone who wants to sell one, or even any local stores* that are selling one?
*Preferably NOT to be imported in from the US, or Far East - because I haven't yet got the balls and confidence to buy from abroad.
If anyone can help me with my new lust, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks!!
I got my '75 CIJ Jazz from Far East Guitars. No hassle, no importing, sent from the UK. Just checked the website, and there's a nice white / tort one on there for £550 - '62 Reissue
Never seen him play without a pick.
On one of the Anthology albums, there's a version of One After 909 which Macca cocks up. When Lennon berates him, he moans that it's due to him not having a pick with him. -
Great choice - Oly White Jazzes always look cool...

I love that fence photo. Every time Mrs Tredders shakes her head at the latest incoming delivery, I simply show her that fence pic. Usually does the trick.
As of today, an Oly White '75 Jazz RI.
Just like this one...

Edited less than 10 minutes later to add...
Or maybe an Oly White Jaguar a la Barry Adamson.
I'm so fickle...
All basses look great in Oly white! I'm pretty much GAS free after this weeks spending, but I'd love a Jetglo Ric, Shuker JJB or battered 60's P bass (like the one I've been whining on to FunkMunky to sell me for the last couple of months!). -
The only place I know of is the Virgin Megastore in The Mall of the Emirates which stocks Yamaha instruments. Oh wait, there's also an instrument shop in Madinat. Everything is grossly overpriced though.
Yeah, that's the only one I could find when I was over there. Wasn't cheap, either... -
Long live the Precision! Some fabulous bits of kit on here-Mark, your two are cracking, especially that '76 black/maple, which is just gorgeous. How is it for weight?
I've just stuck the '76 on the scales, and it weighs in at 9lbs, which is slightly lighter than the Jazz and 'Ray. Feels pretty substantial, but much lighter than the old 70's P bass I had.... that was like wearing a tree trunk! -
I was also only after one...

At the time I thought I could justify owning each and every one of them. Idiot
Bloody hell! What a collection... what are they? (left to right?) -
Flippin 'eck you are a lucky chap! That Jazz is as nice as your Ps - I've never seen an Oly White 75RI and it looks great contrasted with the black s/p (the Jazz equivalent of the P I just sold to Gareth/MusicMan20)
Any more you're hiding?
Thanks! I love the Oly White / black combo, too. Here's the last of the (current!) four I have: -
