Have you got any more info on what’s original? I know it’s a (very nice) refin paint job, and you mentioned that 3 frets had been replaced, but has anything else been replaced? Pickguard, pups, pots, wiring etc? Also, do you know the story behind the crack near the headstock? I’m assuming that it’s a long standing thing and is rock solid but wanted to check. Having a real hard think about this, so I’d appreciate any more info (the original sales thread refers to another thread with all the details in, but I couldn’t find that one). Thanks.

That's absolutely stunning (as are the others in your pic). Congrats - lovely basses.

I really liked my Spirit, so much so that I bought the big brother model, the Synapse. I travel a lot with work and the Spirit / Synapse is dead easy to lug around. Rock solid design, and stays in tune forever. I bought one of those little Vox plug-in headphone amps, and all is good when I'm away from home. I put a set of La Bella flats on mine (only about £25 from BassDirect), and it sounds great to me.

I love the lyrics to Sympathy for the Devil by the Stones... pretty much a history lesson in a single song (and a typically wonky-but-works-perfectly bassline by Mr Wyman). Probably my favourite song of all time is That's Entertainment by the Jam. Perfect slice of English working class life, mundane and dreaming about better things. I remember Weller writing about it, after someone had said it was his finest work to date, and he explained that he wrote it in about 10 minutes after coming back from the pub, full of beer! Special mentions to Summertime Blues by Eddie Cochran and These Foolish Things, the Bryan Ferry version. Both great lyrics, and Eddie Cochran was only 20 when he (co-)wrote it. Oh, and Girl Afraid by the Smiths summed up me at 17, dying to ask out a girl I knew but never having the courage to do it. Nothing ever happened, and years later she told me she'd felt exactly the same at the time...

Mods: My feedback is missing... has it gone for good?

Probably feedback from 512 previous deals where I’ve “finally found a bass which is a keeper” only to sell it at a loss a month later ? -

Yeah, hurry up and fix this free forum that you support in your own personal time for no reward, eh? -

Ignore this - I found it. For anyone in the same situation, it appears that the search function doesn't find your feedback, so you have to manually search through the Feedback thread for your user name. It's all present and correct though. -
I just completed a very smooth and friendly trade with Stephen (my US Fender PJ for his StingRay 4). We met at a convenient Starbucks, had a coffee and a chat, checked over the basses, and both left happy. Really smooth trade from start to finish. The StingRay is immaculate - this is a guy who really looks after his kit, and a nice guy to meet and have a chat with. Hope the PJ works out for you mate!

I know that this has been asked before, but the reply was along the lines of "we're just switching over to the new forum software, give it a while". I still can't find my feedback - has it gone for good or is it hidden away somewhere? Can any of our lovely mods point me in the right direction? I've just traded a bass and I'm expecting some feedback to be left soon, so I want to make sure it goes in the right place Thanks in advance.

I seem to have accumulated a few "extra" basses recently, so I'm going to move one or two on. First up is this lovely Fender US PJ, which I picked up in a recent trade. It's actually a 2008 US Precision, and has had a matching Fender Jazz pickup professionally (luthier) fitted, and blocks fitted at the same time. These aren't peel off stickers, this is a proper nice pro job. Bass is in very good condition - I can't see any marks on it. Neck feels really nice - quite thin front to back, and typical P bass width. Truss rod works as it should, and it's currently strung with Chromes. With the P bass pups alone, it sounds like a proper P bass. Ditto if you solo the Jazz pup, you get a typical Jazz sound. Both on, and you get a nice blend. Excuse the terrible pics - they were taken directly under lights, so there are plenty of reflections and dust showing. Don't worry, these aren't dinks. Doesn't come with a case, but I think (I'll check tomorrow) I have a spare gig bag that can go with it. but I've found a nice quality gig bag that it can go in. Price wise, it owes me £750, which is what I'll sell it for. US P basses alone go for more than this, and with the pro fitted extras, I think it's a decent buy for someone. Collect from Warwick / Leamington / Banbury / Solihull. If courier delivery is required, I’ll pack it up carefully and you can arrange your preferred courier to collect Only trades I'd consider would be a Thunderbird, a Yamaha BB1200 / BB 2000 or a Stingray, as I'm really trying to stop acquiring basses I won't use! Any questions, fire away! Edit: Found a nice gig bag that it can go in.

Just traded my Eden Metro combo (verrrrry heavy) with Rich's Tecamp rig (verrrrry light) in one of those dodgy-looking-meet-on-a-service-station-carpark deals! Really nice guy to talk to, looks after his kit too - the Tecamp is just like new. Great to put a face to a name, too. Cheers Rich. Happy gigging with the Metro, and watch your back when you move it Mark.

Now traded: Eden Metro 2x10 combo - sale or trade
tredders replied to tredders's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
I'm sort of sad it's gone! Kept on thinking about buying it. I loved mine... Someone is going to be happy though!
It's pretty much the complete combo, I reckon. I'll be sad to see it go, but it's just not getting used by me now. Any hurry up and sell that Selmer Twin before I buy something I really really don't need -

Cheers Dunc! It really a nice bit of kit. As you say, I always just keep everything flat and just dial in whatever sound I want with the enhance knob. Very easy to sound good (even when your playing is as dodgy as mine!). Forgot to say that I’ll pack this up for shipping if someone wants to organise their own courier. I might also be able to meet halfway for a prospective buyer, as long as they don’t live in Scotland or Cornwall 😊 Don’t be shy on the trade front either. I’m a terrible gear and gadget whore so there’s not much that I wouldn’t consider! I can also add £££ if someone came up with something interesting. -
I'm not gigging at the moment, and have just bought a Fender Bassman TV from here for my office, so this is sitting unused. Probably the best 2x10 combo I've ever used, but it's overkill for me right now. It's 300 watts @ 8 ohms, 550 watts @ 4 ohms, and 750 watts @ 2 ohms. These were £1500 when new. It's in very good condition - I got it about a year or so ago. Comes with the Eden footswitch for mute / channel swap. Has tube or solid state input channels, and is LOUD! It's pretty heavy but not unmanageable, and has recessed grab handles on the side. Obviously it all works as it should. Details from Eden's website below: [i]The new DC210XLT is the answer to requests for our highly acclaimed World Tour and David Series in a combo format. Our goal in designing the Metro was to create a self-contained unit that sacrificed none of the performance of our separates. The Metro's dual channel preamplifier section gives you the choice of a tube or solid state preamp, with full footswitch control. Each channel includes an independent effects loop, with 500 watts into 4 Ohms (over 750 watts into 2 Ohms). The Metro truly outclasses any 210 combo on the market today. Standard features include, switchable automatic compression, 5-way semiparametric tone control and electronic crossover, independent channel effects loops, stereo aux input, headphone out, tuner mute on footswitch, internal speaker on/off, and -12dB pad.
