Turns out it was my IEM wireless receiver that I think was interfering with the Cali. I decided to plug straight into my DI to try and fine tune my sound before HebCelt next week. Whine disappeared when I plugged in via cable to my interface. Won’t be doing that again!! Cheers folks!

Yeah, I’ve tried through my CS6 and through a single one spot plug as well that I have for a backup. I’ve a feeling this is the case, no one else I know who has one ever mentions some mad background noise. Cheers for replying.

Cali76 users of the world, I’m trying to figure out if my pedal is faulty or if this is a relatively normal thing to happen. Every time I switch the pedal on it has a constant high level whine, which doesn’t alter as I play, worsens as I turn the output nob up at all. I’ve tried different leads, different basses, and different power sources and it still remains. Sticking it through the Bassrig 64 just seems to exacerbate the whole thing. Am I needing to send it to Origin for a look at it or is there something really obvious I’m missing? Massive thanks in advance to the hive mind!

I’ve a few basses I’ve ‘shelved’ since going solely to Mustang’s, especially since I got the JMJ. But my most neglected is definitely my Olympic white Fender American Standard Jaguar. Haven’t gigged it in over a decade but did use it in the studio last year for half an hour. I love it though and could never bear to part with it, and if I could find a way to stick my Mustang PJ neck on to the Jaguar body, I’d be going that. It’s my perfect combo.

Line 6 Hx Effects £250 + UK postage included! - *SOLD*
bogleshake posted a topic in Effects For Sale
Bought on a whim after selling my HX Stomp. I now realise I’m more of a single pedal guy after all! Although the whole pedal is arguably worth it solely for the Noble preamp patch! Really good condition, but has been gigged. Comes with Velcro on the back, with its original power supply but no box unfortunately. Based in Dumfries. Give us a shout about postage if thats more your bag! -
The Short Scale Bass Appreciation Society!

I see a lot folk giving a lot of love to Harley Benton gear on here and it looks like they are adding another new short scale to their range. Crazy cheap! https://harleybenton.com/product/pb-shorty-sbk/?fbclid=IwAR2DJAR0DEq4jfuCaKvei8qxoPckSjGozlYwzpQAPWVjd_JIkC8XLV414rE_aem_AQR8RXgSqgXzrgvJf1Giy5oD3FihT0st7yJuptMC6EXB6oR6y8qkabINrhjDMtv8YGs -
The IEM (in ear monitors) Bible thread

Thanks for this. I’ve ended up ordering a pair of ACS Evolve IEM’s in the hope that the custom fit cancels out the extra drivers of the KZ’s. -

If it helps at all, my Mexican PJ Mustang neck is much thinner than my JMJ. Dunno if it’s just luck, but I feel a decent difference in them side by side. The PJ feels the closest in neck width to my American Jaguar bass, which has a jazz neck as well I think. -

Firstly massive thanks for this thread, it’s been utterly amazing at helping me get to grips with our ampless setup. I’ve been using KZ AS10’s with the sonicfoam tips but I’ve had a landmark birthday and have a bit of extra cash gifted to me, so have decided to get some custom’s made up. I’m in the UK, Scotland to be precise, so I’m a bit restricted to ACS Customs. My question is has anyone managed to make the KZ’s fit an ACS custom plug or am I going to need to stretch to the Evolve Classics, as the chat seems to be that anything less than 3 drivers are going to be insufficient for bass? I like the KZ’s, and they do the job for me, but the thought of a more comfier fitting with the customs is the draw. And I suppose I’m selfishly looking for the best of both worlds without having to drop £1000 on a set of IEMs. Cheers in advance for any advice at all. -
Cheers folks! It was indeed the four screws on the top that fasten the head to the combo, but I had an unexpected use of a flat screwdriver to prise the head from the wood as well. Thank god for the wee random paint chip I noticed in one of the corners of the head part that made me realise this! 🤣 Really straightforward once it was off though. Cheers to everyone that’s recommended different valves. My new JJ ECC81’s have already given me more use of my gain knob than I’ve ever had with the amp.

I’m aware this old, but gold, topic is likely done but I can’t be the only other person still rocking the Orange Terror Combo Amp? After a decade I’ve decided to finally replace the valves with a much more manageable pair. But does anyone know how you access the valves in it? There’s loads and loads of videos opening Terror head but I can’t find anything anywhere about this combo. Cheers in advance to any utter legend out there that can save me before I send these valves back and resign myself to the gain at 9pm for eternity.

40th Anniversary Precision £259 at Thomann!

My SFG jazz arrived yesterday in sunny Scotland! Just need to replace this honking pick guard with a white one and we are good to go!! -
Selling my as new Spectradrive pedal as I’ve recently bought a Bassrig 64 and Cali76 instead. This pedal is enabled with Spectradrive and Spectracomp TonePrints so it’s one of the most flexible pedals you can get, with loads of different sound options from the TonePrint library. And it’s a DI! Bought it brand new two months ago and I’ve only gigged it once, so it’s in perfect condition with its original box and all the extra stuff, including its original power source that’s never been used. It’s got Velcro on the underneath as it’s only been on my pedal board for a very short time. Postage is an option, give me a shout if this is the DI for you.

I was rocking my JMJ on the Garden Stage on the Saturday as well at Belladrum there, same stage as Fatherson apparently. Sadly we never made the iPlayer coverage though, but were the backup for the telly if Kiefer Sutherland said no. Ha ha ha! Probably unrelated, but there was an issue at sound check with my level as well that day, but I put it down to a first gig with my Cali76 and Bassrig 64. But maybe there was something else going on, who knows. Tech lads were pretty quick at sorting things though.
