1. Thanks guys, I’ve sort d this now
2. Hi all, The handle fell off my mark bass comb last week and the screws have fallen inside. Any idea how to get to them so I can put back on and reattach th handle? thanks in advance, Alex
3. I have one of these. I find the signal drops out as soon as I get over a couple of metres away from the receiver. Have I got it on the wrong setting?
4. Nah Spiro weichs on the Chadwick at the mo as that's what it came with. Got Belcantos on my carved bass but with a Spiro mittel extended E as I found the Belcanto E a little weak.
5. If you want a darker sound then you could try Belcantos. I find them quite Spirocore like in terms of feel. Bit higher tension than Spiro weichs maybe. I've used them with a mag pickup before too P.s. Rev, met you at 7 stars a couple of weeks ago! Hi again
6. Yo rabbie, I've had good results using one of these. Only really in the rehearsal room though... https://www.thomann.de/gb/yamaha_dxr_12.htm
7. I've got Spiro weichs on mine. They did add more mid range but I haven't gigged with them on it yet. I might try removing the bridge and experiment with adding a some washers to the bottom
8. I find my BabyBass has plenty of low thump but sounds quite hollow compared to a proper upright. For this reason I've only gigged it once so far. Also, does anybody get a bit of end pin rattle/vibration?
9. Awesome! Could you post a pic or link to the washers you are using? I'd like to try this mod on my KK Baby Bass
10. I use a Kent Armstrong. It works well and each pole piece can be adjusted in order to balance the volume of the strings. I attach it to the end of the finger board with velcro. I find sounds best blended with my Realist.
11. Thanks all, not sure why the pic is on its side
12. KK Baby Bass traditional
13. Looks pretty good. The only thing that I noticed is that the string silks at the tail piece end are extending over the bridge... The scale length he lists looks right for a 3/4 and the bridge appears to be roughly in the right place so I'm guessing either the tail piece wire is too long or he's got some odd strings on there. They look like Spiro Mittles to me though... Either way it's probably a good deal if it plays alright. I wouldn't have thought it'd cost much to sort the tail piece out.
14. I had a set of Innovation Braided that bowed quite nicely. They had a quiet arco sound though compared to steels.
15. David is a great guy. I'd definitely recommend attending some of these sessions.
16. If it's a good payer then I'd just go for it and not worry too much.
17.
Yep, if you search youtube for "Bass player falls off stage" I am the one with green strings. To be honest it is very funny.
Very funny! … hope you were ok
18. I think Tokai may have gone back to the Fender copy headstock on some models... https://www.bax-shop.co.uk/right-handed-bass-guitar/tokai-apb-44-yellow-sunburst-electric-bass-guitar Interestingly some Tokai basses on this site have the slanted headstock and some have the lawsuit era one.
19. For me it'd be a toss up between the 1st and 4th. Would probably go with the 1st...
20. Would you consider selling just the neck and tuners?
21. Usually hit the golden arches but occasionally might go for a band curry if it's not a mega late gig
22. Hi all, I find the tone control on my jazz bass does very little. Darkens the sound ever so slightly. Should it be doing more? Its a passive Amercian standard Jazz 2008 strung with laBella flat wounds. Perhaps with brighter strings I would notice a bigger difference in tone control position, though I can't remember it doing a lot more when I had Fender 8250M strings on it...
23. Hi do you have any pics of it and the box? If all looks good then I'll take it off your hands. Are you interested in any trades?
