1. As you don't get to see someone's face & hear their voice on the internet, things often come across differently to how they would be said. Even just a slight change in tone or facial expression can have a huge influence on someone's response. Anyway, you're all wrong. That's All of you! I'm right, I win. Goodnight!
2. I think the bassline is the best part of that song. I managed to listen up to 1:33 before committing hara-kiri.
3. It is rather good. He does a great cover of Take 5 with Al Jarreau. http://youtu.be/wL2W4UPGUBo
4. He's an award winning Jazzer. Jazz rarely gets mainstream play other than on the "Jazz Hour" on some channels. Another chap you may like is Kurt Elling. He's a very similar style of jazz & has a tremendous range. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7YkzVphoCg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZAZ21NnmHw
5. I get the theory behind your idea. Are you bi-amping or are the crossovers doing all the work there? I don't doubt your skills for the audio side of things, so I think the big job for you might be trying to make the cab "look" nice. It should take a fabric covering easy enough, such as tolex or carpet. If you have no pets, may I suggest for the ultimate coolness.... fur fabric?
6. I'd say incluse a short jam & if a guitarist noodles all over the shop, avoid him. Especially if he noodles during the vocals! It can be hard to find a guitarist who knows how to play appropriately. When to back off & how to put a good solo together & not just some random doodle where there are no vocals.

8x10

You might find the 2 4x10s have more low end than your current set up. The single 15 cabs do have better dispersion though.
8. Why not go into GG & try the bass out? This way you can try a few & see what one sits the most comfortable on you. When buying online, you have that risk where they may weigh the bass & you're happy with it & then in error, send one that looks the same but weighs more.
9. So is your question really "is a multi fx unit as good as stomp boxes?"? The answer to that is "it depends". Most multi fx units don't do a great job of dirt, but can do some things better.
10. What Doug says. If you were to have the fx in parallel, that would mean the signal would be split X amount of times, each one sent to individual effects & then all summed back together. This would sound like X amount of basses all playing the same bassline & each having a different effect on it. I do this with 2 channels myself, so the low end signal gets split from everything above 110hz, so when I dirty up the tops, the low end remains solid.
11. Like he above says. A multi fx unit doesn't put all the effects parallel, they still go one after the other & should in theory have similar results to their pedalboard counterparts.
12. Why does it need to be a 15 or 18"? If you can build things out of wood, have a look at BFM plans for something like a Titan 39. I agree with Spacey, that if you're playing rock based music, a sub may be too low. I don't agree that any 2x15 will do the job though. Diameter doesn't = lows.
13.

Brilliant!
14.
All good. At least it wasn't another inchage question
Or homage.
15. Looking to see what interest folk would have in a BassChat Calendar for next year. Each month would be the winning pic from the photo comp the previous year & proceeds would go to BassChat (maybe even so Ped can keep his Citroen running ). Here's the poll... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/238030-basschat-2015-calendar/ If you're interested, let us know.
16. If you're looking for small, light & loud, then there's many good options out there. There's a few on here with the MarkBass 1x12 combo & use the 12" ext cab for bigger gigs & I'm a Markbass 2x10 owner & love it. There's many other good combos & you could pick up a Genz Benz for not a lot of money (now that Fender bought them, devalued them & scrapped them). Another option would be a small light head such as a MarkBass LM & a small cab (or 2).
17. Well I've missed the last couple & despite trying, never got my track finished for the composition compo (that would be the compo compo?). So PM heading your way.
18. I went for the lightweight combo. It's the same size as the MB 102 STD & easy to run into venues with.
19. Cheers. I think the song calls for a fairly simple driving bassline. Anything more would probably take away from the song. I'm looking forward to some of the more electronica stuff that we have sitting, as the basslines are somewhat more technical.
20. Here's an OC3 with Filter & Chorus live (from 43 secs in). http://youtu.be/B8_vadsuPf4
21. I joined a new band a couple of months back. We've met as 2 or 3 at a time & once as all 4 of us, each time in the keys player's place (he has a home studio) & we played through headphones. Last night we had our first sesh as the full band in a rehearsal room. It took us a little time to get set up & then get the levels right, but once we had, the results was well worth the efforts. We've only written the one song so far, but the theory is to get one completely finished before starting on the next song (though there's the basics for a good few songs sitting waiting to be worked on). To top things off, the studios were being interviewed by a film crew that are promoting the different things in Perth & they asked us if we'd like to play a song & do a small interview (so the song can't be that bad then). They said they'll send us a link to the TV, YouTube & Facebook pages once it's up, so here's hoping. Anyway, here's a snip from last night's session with lots of my ugly mush. 22.
I actually did a proper ghetto recording going from the tuner out on the back of the amp to the mic in on my laptop
I do that from the FX send. Get a decent recording too!
23.
You can't use the head only on that amp. Is not my amp and the amp is just a 50watt practice combo.
Snips & a soldering iron & anything's possible!
24. I've got an OC3 too. A very fast chorus at the end of the chain is good for DnB sounds.
25. IIRC the Speakon-1/4 jack combo sockets are green.
