1. If there's pro bassists using them live for amp modelling & effects, it shows that the reliability is pretty good. I had 1 issue after upgrading to ios7 where the iPad would restart randomly, but that was rectified with an update.
2.
did you manage to check the moog mate?
Sorry, I never got a chance. I'll have a look tomorrow if I can.
3. Funny you should say that, as that's what I do. The leads to my bass are permanently plugged in to the pedals & I just take one out the back of the last pedal to the amp. My board looks like someone spilled coloured udon all over it though.
4. Quicker & tidier to set up.
5. It is 10x the watts to get twice the volume. That's going on using the same spec'd cab though Watts means very little on its own in relation to volume (decibels). How much air the speakers can move & how well the cab around them has been designed are the important factors.
6. The "Effects" section might help you narrow things down to just a few dozen pedals.
7. Time signatures such as 6+6+5/8 can be interpreted as 17/4 if you struggle with reading it. I love this song... http://youtu.be/br2s0xJyFEM
8. What sort of sound are you after? The only "right" order is the one that makes the sound you like. I was octave> dirt> filter> chorus, but I changed the last 2 around a couple of weeks ago. However, I'll probably change that again soon & try the chorus on the <110hz channel to see if I like it. My sound is dub, wub, techno electronica.
9. There isn't another filter that sounds like the moog. It's straight out the model D minimoog (which is part of what gives moog it's sound. Shep's closest alternative that sounded similar was the Iron Ether filter, but he still uses the Moog.

11. That's a good point about the MB filters. I've turned both filters up (the VPF increases the lows & top & cuts the mids) & then turned the treble down too & got some wonderfully subby sounds (I have a LMII). It is different from the moog though, but might be worth a try.
12. It does seem odd that you need to have the drive up that high. I can't recall if there's a trim pot in it for the input. I'll have a look on Tuesday & let you know.
13. How low are you setting the cutoff? I'd maybe try to boost your clean signal going into the moog. I have the drive set to 10 o'clock & in bypass mode it's pretty clean. The Cutoff's usually set to just above 9 o'clock on mine, but I use an expression pedal & bring the top in for wubs, etc. I know Shep (Pantherairsoft) has tried countless filters & hoped to find something smaller than the moog, but nothing has the moog's sound or flexibility. Sounds like a good excuse to post this video again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTmAnGzNQxE
14. Why are they dying? What about going down the passive route as you're using passive tops?
15. If you're ever up round Perth way gigging or if my (new) band get gigging soon & head down your way, You're welcome to have a blast on my bass (it's strung with Chromes).
16.
I want to get a five string anyway, been considering a Squier VM. Got a family holiday coming up, so will probably grab one after that. Or may hold out for something a bit more upmarket. The one thing thats put me off the TI flats is that they are supposed to be low tension. I'm a but heavy handed you see..... How do they actually feel though?
I went from DR Strings roundwound to the TI strings & can honestly say that although I knew they were a lower tension, it never once crossed my mind when I was playing with the band. I play finger, plectrum, slap & tap. It's not like playing elastic bands.
17. I'd get another bass (if I could afford one). I've got Chromes on my bass, the are rather bright for flats, probably on a par with halfwounds (groundwounds). I far prefer the Tomastik Infeld Jazz flats. They're bright for a flat too, but have a much nicer sound.
18. I used to play a lot of blues rock. Used a Peavey head through 2 15" Marshalls. Then a Trace Elliott 4x10 combo & then a MarkBass 2x10 combo. I preferred the MarkBass out of all of them & still use it (though I no longer play blues rock). I'd take your bass & cab & go try some amps out.
19. Firstly, have a read through some of the technical stuff on here, the Barefaced website and Bill Fitzmaurice's forum. You'll soon find out that your assumption of driver diameter is incorrect. You'll probably find that the 4x10 is also one of the poorest cab designs made. A single 15 cab in most instances doesn't go as low as a 4x10 or 2x12. The reason? The cab. Nothing to do with driver diameter. Where are you based? I'm sure there's somewhere not too far that does stock Aguilar (I know GuitarGuitar does, as does Bass Direct). So it might be worth grabbing your bass & having a day out at a good bass shop. If I was starting again with my rig, I'd probably go for a 2x12 & if it wasn't loud enough, add another 2x12. But I'm happy with what I have.

21. Now had you opened that box 10-15 years ago, you could have been the inventor of Spotify.

23. I've got analogue and digital ones. You really need them when you're making cakes.

Go & have a listen to Our Helical Mind, Miloopa or Nerve (JoJo Mayer, JohnDavis & the other 2) & tell me again how the OC2 doesn't make good subs.
Grammar - it's the difference between knowing your pants, and knowing you're pants.
I'm slightly concerned... Why does your grandma know your pants?
