1.
I've got pedals that can suck a bit too much bottom end out the signal (wah, fuzz, env filter) on the A loop of my LS-2...
If your envelope filter is sucking bottom end, replace it, unless it's a high pass filter & that's what you're after. If it's a low pass, then it's kinda pointless if you're having to put it in a loop.
2.
But what happens after you've gone bang?
I'd imagine there's a mess to be cleaned up.
3. The correct answer should be "wherever you feel comfortable". In one of my previous bands, we always had a different layout for each gig. The only position I wasn't keen on was being dead centre with the guitarist one side & the vocal/guitarist the other & the drummer behind us all.
4. I'd sell 1 of the cabs & get a matching 1 if you feel you need it. Gig both cabs to see which one you prefer the sound of though.
5. MIDI is a fairly simple thing, especially if it's just for tempo. MIDI OUT will send to MIDI IN or THRU. You can have both boxes connected IN - OUT & vice versa & set whichever parameters you want to control. If you want to sync with something that doesn't have MIDI, then it's easy to fit a simple kit to have a MIDI clock (unless it's a human).
6. I'm with White Cloud. If the original screws held your old bridge in place ok, then there's no reason why they won't hold the new one in place just as well.
7. Now that I have my Mac back up & running, I'm gonna make a good effort this month. I missed the mixing comp too!
8. It's a shame drummers don't have MIDI in.
9. For recording video, you're better setting up some mics & recording the audio separate or better still, plug all into a desk & mic the drums up. Then put them together with some AV software. Edited because the spellchecker thinks "mics" should be "mice". Sick computer!
10. I'm sure there's probably better out there, but my fave is what I'm using now. Markbass 2x10 combo.
11. You have 3 filter pedals there. It's up to you, but I'd be inclined to try sticking the Enigma after the Wah or Qtron & getting an Exp pedal. This way you can filter the funky wahs in or out ala house music style. Like Paul says though, there's not wrong way to put your pedals. Playing about with your order is 1/2 the fun of having them. Learn what each one does & see what can affect what.
12. It has no relation to where you want to put the Wah. The Exp Pedal is so you can connect an expression pedal to control the filter on the Enigma (a bit like your wah).
13. I'd go & try as many different ones as I could as one man's awesome is another's awful. So on that note, I give you this....
14.
Be prepared to get all sorts of advise from this Forum but your Doctor is where you should go first as he'll be more familiar with you and your history.
This. Though if you look at any medical related thread on BC, the majority will say "see your Dr".
15.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFx3WX4DES0
Cheers for that! I don't think I've ever closed a tab so quickly!
16. Since learning this, it goes through my head at least once a day & every time I pick up my bass, it gets played. But it's good! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYDfwUJzYQg
17. It really depends on how your guitarists and drummer sound. Getting a good sound at home rarely ever cuts it in a band setting. Spend time as a band getting the guitarists to sit in their relative audio spaces & you can then sort yours out. This usually requires getting the guitarist to admit he doesn't need "depth & body" in the lower frequencies & turning back the bass.4
18. Only you can answer this. Do you like how it sounds? If so, then the answer is No, you're good to go.
19. It's nothing to do with the diamiter of the drivers, but their xmax. If they're farting, they're not very good drivers for bass. I'd go with flogging it & get something with better drivers. I don't know how loud you play, but I don't get any farting with my Markbass 2x10 combo & I'm certainly not a quiet player (I play DnB & Dubstep basslines).
20. The venue & the rest of the band's gear make a difference to your sound too. It's a case of play about with your settings at rehearsal (get the band to do the same).
21. If you're running a few amps, then you'd be safer running 2 4gang cables taped together as you might overheat a single 13a cable or plug.
22. That's a cleverer idea than my marking with a CD pen.
23. Try both & see which you prefer. I've got the MarkBass CMD 2x10 combo & rate it highly.
24. Pedals are usually made to be stood on. If you or another stage person accidentally stands on your amp, then the amp might not be strong enough to cope with the weight & could cause damage to your board, amp & person standing on it. If you build a board with a slot to protect the amp, that would reduce the risks.
25. The OC2 & OC3 generate a synth sound that plays an octave down, some others process the bass sound & just transpose it down an octave. It's best to have a listen to some youtube vids of different ones & see what you like. I went with the OC3 as I wanted a synth sound.
