That makes sense. I think the amp's loop isn't as hot a signal as direct from the bass (not 100% positive on that though). You do realise you now need a controllable filter?
-
I don't quite follow? Do you mean the pedal on Amplitube, or did you take a line from iRig into the OC2?

Musicians adverts that fill you with confidence.

I'm really tempted to respond to the drummer who's actually willing to cart a drumkit around on trains. See if he wants to come up to Perth for an audition? -
I'm on the lookout to try & start a music project, but there seems to be a serious shortage of musicians (other than guitarists). However, some of the ads that I have seen have made me smile, so thought I'd start to share a couple... This one from a drummer...
hey iv been playing 5 years enjoy all kinds of music but would not want to play metal i have my own gear but no transport but would be willing to get trains
Or there's this one...
I've had enough with people not being commited and time wasting so I'm going to not fanny about and get to the point. I am looking for a drummer, bassist and an other guitarist to start a band with. Around 16-20 I don't really care on age or gender. I am 17 and play guitar, bass, drums and believe I can sing but thats all down to anyone who is confident to project their voice. May need a frontman.
I'll add more as I come across them. I know there's been a couple of good threads on Muso Adverts recently, but if you come across any on your travels, share them.

If the tracking's similar to the OC-3, then that just takes practice on your playing technique. You need to play uber clean.
-
I've had a few of them. Put the bass down many times & usually for a few months at a time. As I'm currently bandless & struggling to find any local musicians, I've had that feeling since @ March. Considering going back to keys.

What amp/ cabs would you buy with £1000-1500
xgsjx replied to pete bigmatch's topic in Amps and Cabs
What would I go for??? A train ticket to Warwick & try out all what Bass Direct have to offer. If you're only playing at home, you could walk out with a nice wee combo & plenty change. -
Certainly does, makes me miss my old bongo too!
?

My past couple of bands have been all originals with the odd cover thrown in, so I chose originals. Nothing against playing covers though.
Originals. A mix of folk, flamenco, country and blues, so not too many covers opportunities there then!!!!
You could do your own take on songs. That's what we did & it's pretty fun.
some idiots have idiotic prejudices. I don't think any half-intelligent person will care what you're using as long as it sounds good. As far as looking cool, it depends what you're playing. If it's thrash metal then the bent-wrist-bass-up-by-tits look isn't going to work. If you're playing funk then wailing your arm around thrashing the strings with your pic isn't going to look very cool.
Regardless of genre, when would either of those postures look cool?

My old band did a song where I used pick (one of very few) as it didn't sound right with fingers. It needed that clanky punk edge to it. Some songs I just couldn't play as well with a pick as I could with fingers, such as alternating octaves & arpeggiated chords or even trying to tap a run without dropping the pick. I think double thumbing is a good technique for driving basslines. I'm still practicing it, but not yet good enough to use it live.
Steady! You could be heading for a spanking Anyway, it's already on the agenda so I love emoticons!
If GuitChat is modded 1/2 as good as BC, then it should avoid most of the wazzicks that you get on some of the other forums.
-
For a lot of rock & pop songs it probably doesn't matter, you can roll the top off so the pick isn't so clanky if needs be. However, some songs just don't sound right if not played with the same technique.
-
Potentially a good idea, but when you think of the amount of "guitarists" there are, you might just end up with a forum full of kids. Anyway, the idea behind drumchat is so that there's a resource of musicians. Guitarists are ten a penny!

If you can stretch £50, there's this... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/189392-genz-benz-2x10-comb-trade-options-or-l450-ono-dorset/
But if the buyer is not implicated in any 'wrecking' then it's hardly fair to land him with the loss is it?
That's true & so is Billy's. Hence why I said get in touch with both parties to find out where the damage has occurred. If both deny, then I would say that the new owner should be chasing the courier. If you have legal cover (through an account or insurance), then try that for advice.
-
If the bass is wrecked, I wouldn't want it back unless I took the repair costs out of the refund.
-
& how small is "small"? Is a 2x10 combo too big?

Sometimes I wish I didn't live in a flat...

I had to complain about my neighbour banging away at 2am! it was interfering with my band practice. On a serious note, it's the same as Lozz for me. I keep to sensible times & I played at a fairly loud volume this morning (@ 11;30 am) with no complaints. Neighbours are usually at work, but I let them know if they're not, just let me know. -
Well as you have proof, I'd be checking with the courier company & also asking the buyer if the packaging was damaged. As you have video proof, I would ask for evidence of what condition the bass is in & also of the problems. I wouldn't blame him or the courier until you have proof of whom is telling the truth.

Yet they've written it twice on the tweeter switch. Maybe they're trying to say "Play dub, reggae & mowtown forever"?
-
If that head was detachable then the cables for power, DI and ext cab would be linked on the top plate... a bit akward looking...
That is a very good point & one that I'd completely overlooked!

I wonder if removing the 4 screws at the top would allow it to tilt outwards & then be lifted up?
Isn't the end of the first paragraph rather misleading then? http://www.ibanez.co...ics/model-P3110 - states "Plus, the fire-red amp head can be easily detached without any tools" - also it says it is a "300W combo". Thomann claim that the combo is 4ohms and the speaker out is 4ohms also. Surely that's dangerous misadvice if wrong? http://www.thomann.d...banez_p3110.htm So the question is: who's telling porkie pies?
On both Thomann & Ibanez websites it says 300w @4 ohm. In the actual manual for it on Ibanez's website, it states that it is 300w @ 4ohm & that the combo is 8 ohm with the option of plugging in another 8 ohm cab. It also has at the start that you cannot use a 4 & 8 ohm cab with the head. So they're both massaging the figures (Thomann just copied & pasted).
-
Less watts yes, but 50W more in the combo than last time (old one was 250W because of 8 ohm speaker in the combo, 500W with 4 ohm cab).
I don't think you're right. The old one was a 500w head (so @ 300 - 350w or so at 8Ω). The stats are VERY misleading on the new one as it says it's a 300w combo at 4Ω, yet it has an extension socket that says 8Ω? Just had a quick look on Ibby's web & the manual says that the combo is 150w @ 8Ω.
