1. What's the difference? Isn't the T115 the same but with a different name?
2. I got mine from Flightcase Warehouse online. You get a case with a detachable lid & a bit of black painted wood (which I was going to bin, but is very useable) with some cheap velcro. You can then get some heavy duty velcro & put a couple of stoppers on the board to slope it, replace it with your own or do away with the board idea & just glue loop fabric directly in the case. Here's some pics...
3.
Why do you think we're going!
4.
Great work man! Really synthy bass sound, love it!
Thanks Nige. I'd previously been considering selling all my gear (except the bass) due to lack of use, but making this was good fun & still undecided, but leaning towards "keep".
5.
Brilliant! Love the feedback at the start. The percussion is fantastic - really inventive and interesting. Great how it kicks in with the synth and kick/snare (nice clean synth btw)...switches from something ambient to very danceable! Reminds me a bit of Eat Static or Banco de Gaia in parts :-) Nice production too. Sounds great thru my cans and even over my poxy phone speaker! (even caught Mrs Skol nodding along - a rarity). Good job mate.
Cheers The synth is the Minimoog VSTi. It's a pretty good synth (I'd love a Moog Voyager). In a way, all the sounds are Moog (with the exception of the drums). I put my bass through a couple of moogerfoogers (I envy shep having 5! ) & the filter is one of the best pedals I've ever had.
6.
Nov 1st. It's a monthly event they hold. Ill get some more details for you!
Sorry, but am I reading what it says on that ad correctly? ".....the last bj at the rigger for a while....."
7. Lids usually come off mixer cases. If not you could replace the bolts in the hinges with snap clips. You do realise you could squeeze a couple of Moogerfoogers in there too?
8. Got mine done. Had fun making the bass sounds & playing them (makes me want more pedals!). I think it's another tough month as this month's entries are a very high standard! Anyway, I saw the pic & thought of people setting the stage & everything else for an outdoor gig & thought of the trucks moving about & folk running around setting things up (hence the orange cardigan & other folk standing supervising). http://soundcloud.com/xgsjx/november-dirt
9. It is indeed. Technology is good when used creatively, not so good when just used to "cheat" & try to pass off as talent.
10. Q1: No, you're wrong. The RH450 is @ 240 watts at 4 ohm & @ 180 at 8. Best thing to do is forget everything you think you know about watts & just use your ears. The RH450 is a loud amp, but the MarkBass cabs are pretty loud too. Q2: I like the sound of MarkBass cabs (& amps too), but you might not. It's that personal preference thing Best advice is to go & play through both (& others too) to see what you prefer.
11. Put your donkey down & get to bed!
12. I think the main factor is personal taste. One man's perfect combination is another's fartbox. I've read a few folk on here over the years saying that "X" bass sounds crap through their rig, but "Y" bass sounds awesome.
13. My suggestion is the Vox Venue 30 bass combo. The one I have has even saw a few gigs.
14. If you shop around, you can pick up a MB combo s/h for under £500. Not sure if that's still pushing your limit though?
15. If you can stretch your funds (sell your amp), have a look at the Markbass combos. Loads of volume from a small, light rig. Like above, Barefaced would probably be my choice if going down the amp/cab route. Or build a BFM cab.
16.
tested them again today with a 4x10 as well. Needs the volume up a bit (!) to get the top end /horn to 'show', all very subtle but effective.
Sorted ok?
17. I take it the cabs are lying horizontally? Have you tried them vertically & does it have the same issue? It does seem rather odd.
18. Do the cabs have a dial on the side/back?
19. Stack them vertically & problem solved.
20.
Watching the speakers in my Markbass cab jump all over the place confirms that they have CRAZY excursion! I don't have a clue whether it makes them louder, but it's reassuring to know that they're able to move that much more as they're so much less likely to get damaged... Never heard of one blowing!
Don't say things like that! Next gig (if there's one) I'll try some subby dub sounds at loud volume & Ppppppppphh! Bvvvvv Bvvv Bvvv Bvvvvvvpppp.
21. When I was researching what to buy, I recall that the B&C drivers have a longer excursion than the majority of other drivers (wait a min, didn't I post something similar about 6 months ago?). So that might part explain them being so loud?
22. Bergantino? Bugera? Baer?
23.

24. Tony, have you tried a 2x12?
25. Wait a minute... Are you implying that there might be some famous acts that use pitch correction live?!?!
