Ceruse FTW! I was gonna do it, but chickened out. Best place to sand is outside. It gets everywhere if you're doing it indoors & you end up with super thick snotters.

It takes a bit of time, but it's worth it. I started with 40 grit & worked through to a fine glass paper (I think it was around 300). Even if painting, it's worth doing all the sanding work so it's easy to get a good finish. It's not hard, just time consuming.

If you do go for a natural finish, may I suggest sanding in several coats of Danish Oil (about 10-20, depending) & then a couple of coats of Beeswax? Here's something I did... Just had a look at the manual & looks like it could be a good contender. I think I would have liked to have seen either some CV or an exp pedal in at least, but looks like a good dubstep machine. Let us know how it is when you get it.

I think you should be using more of your bass' tone in your band & sticking your pedals in a loop so you can drop some Dubstep in there during the last song. A lot of the songs we play use just my bass with maybe a little chorus, others I use a dry sound & then drop everything on at once for a section & then turn them off again & then theres songs where the FX are part of the song. I'd keep your effects & just use them when called for.

The first band I ever saw live was Odyssey in 1983. I was 12 & it was in a nightclub in Stirling. they wouldn't let me in to start with as I was wearing trainers (which cost me £50 back then!), so I ran home, put on an old pair of black shoes that had red & blue paint on them & they let me in! Went backstage after the gig & blethered about music.

Cool effect. Certainly better than the one at 3:30. I'd just go for that pedal if that's the sound you want. Going 2nd hand means you wouldn't be wasting money if it ended up not what you want. INteresting use for a Gramma Pad, but I suppose he is a guitarist & wouldn't have any other use for it.

If Pantherairsoft is willing to replace the majority of his massai board of quality stomps for a M13, then I think he would take that into account. I've only had a couple of multi fx units & now have a small selection of stomps, but I can't say I noticed a loss of tone when I was playing live.

I think it's probably a good wee combo to get you started. There's a couple of folk on here that have had/still have that combo, so they might chip in on your other post.

GK are good amps (for the most anyway). It depends what you're wanting it to do though. Are you gigging & if so, are you using PA?

What about adding a "bright box"? Markbass make a pop on box that just houses a tweeter & Trace Elliot used to make them with 4 tweeters in. Or if you're handy with tools & a soldering iron, one could be made in no time (you don't need to worry about box size). You could then decide if you want piezo or horn & pop a crossover on it. Simples.

I like that. Very nice bass with proper wear & tear & not one of those "Roadworn" wannabe's! It's good when you find "Your" bass & stick with it. Me & my Ibby have been together for 22 years as well (though it's been stripped of it's paint & had a change of guts).

I bet he's annoying to a lot of drummers in the fact that he makes things look so easy, especially when he's spinning his arms around like a bam. WoT, I know you've been eager to see that!

I've got TI Jazz flats on my Ibby & can reccommmend them. Tension isn't much different from rounds.

Sorry, my bad. You wont get that sound with an effects pedal. After having another listen, the best thing for you to get that sound at 3:30 is an American Bloke.

Like Chris B says, try the Markbass 102HF. I'd also take a look at Barefaced. A single 12 wouldn't have any more guts than a 2x10 unless you got a well designed 1x12 & a poorer designed 2x10. Ideally, you want a good drummer. A good drummer will carry all your gear for you.

It depends on what you need it for? If you're playing through PA, then a single 12 might well be all you need. What about a 2x10? I find it does all I need as anything that needs more usually has PA.
