Europe: UK: "European" plugs only have two pins, what could be called of a third pin (those side metal plates) are for earthing. Edit: both sockets going in to the amp are the same (like the ones used on PC's).
Fits one of these...

Setting the dials/sliders to "Flat" on an amp doesn't mean the sound is a flat response, you're getting how the manufacturers want the amp to sound. So Flat on an Ampeg is different to Flat on a Hartke & so on. But yes. I set my Markbass to "flat" & then fiddle the EQ to suit the venue if needed. My sound is already heavily messed up from the board before hand though!
Lol, thank you
As much as I tried, I struggled to resist.

Good choice (I have the same combo). The best cab to add would be this... Stick them on their end (vertically) for a nice tall rig that everyone can hear.

You want a Kettle lead.

Just practice in the original key & then voala...

Soooooo tempting! I had a blast on one of these a couple of years ago & really wanted it then. I have a SoundGear (SR1000), but I've done quite a few alterations to it (stripped to the wood, made it passive & popped a control knob for the moogs on it). If it was a 5 string then you'd have a PM. Nice bass.
no crossover to go wrong stops it overheating, I got the impression the the faulty crossover, or splitter?, was causing the amp to overload and therefore overheat, mine gets quiet warm but it's never cut out
Ah! I see. I didn't know what the cause of the fault was.
I'ver got one of these, had trouble with the first one, Marshall replaced it, since then it's been fine, love the sound with a 1x15 extention cab, mind you my ext cab has no tweeter so no crossover to break down which seems to be the main problem here
I don't get what you mean. How would a crossover stop it overheating?
Hi, I just joined this forum looking for answers about my MB4210, and clearly they've got big issues. My own was cutting out a lot recently, so I installed a second fan in it exhausting out the side of the amp, and that reduced the amount of cutting out, but it wasn't perfect. However, the cure was much simpler. Putting just about any household fan on any setting directly behind the amp blowing at the built-in fan massively reduces the internal temperature and completely stops the cutting out. At work I sell thermometers with remote sensors, so it was easy to see just how much difference inside the amp this really makes. my second internal fan dropped the temp 2 degrees, the fan at the back dropped it by 13 degrees C. So simple. Bloody ridiculous, but easy to get around.
Does this make you a big fan of Marshall?

There's a lot to be had in your budget if you're buying 2nd hand. If its an amp you are after (not a combo or amp & cab), then there's a lot of nice stuff. I'm gonna suggest trying MarkBass stuff. If it's a combo you're after, then the MarkBass 2x10 combo is very hard to beat & you'll get a s/h one for around the £600 mark.
-
What sort of sound are you after? The Boss OC-2/3 are great if it's synth sounds you're making. The OC-3 can track to Ab & also has a decent "poly" mode.

Is it the board itself that the pedals go on to (not a housing for the board)? If so, why not cover the board in loop fabric (something that the hook side of Velcro will stick to) & that way you can put the pedals anywhere. Pretty sure Shep did this with the inside of his board.

Cheers GA, makes a thought provoking read for me. I managed to shake the "Synth bug" in the early 90s (91 to be exact) but recently found myself getting drawn back towards them. Been looking a bit more towards the workstation/multi-timbral type things from Korg & Roland, but also looking at the route of a few "smaller" synths & racks. Another couple of synths that looks interesting and might fit the OP's bill are the Roland SH-01 Gaia & the Moog Minotaur (remote keys needed for the Minotaur, though I'd go with the Little Phatty if budget allows). Mod, I think you moved this to the wrong place. Bass guitar is more appropriate for the subject, but I would have thought "Other Instruments" probably suits better?
Yeah there is, you wont be able to hear yourself against a drummer, and your tone will be a pile of doodoo due to having no headroom for the bass end
It is subject to the venue & other factors though. I've gigged with a 30w 1x12 combo in a 4 piece rock band & been able to hear myself (& be heard by the audience). Was not in a noisy pub/club venue though, but the drummer was a rather heavy hitter. I've also gigged with 90w & 150w heads going into 1 or 2 1x15s in larger pub club venues & had no probs being heard. It's how much air you're moving, not how many watts you've got.
i would love it if he came back to tell us he's bought an £5K Hellborg rig.
Only to tell us it's too loud!
So far two Barefaced cabs have been stolen, both Midgets! I hate to think how many micro-amps vanish before/during/after gigs...
I'm picturing a couple of dwarfs running off with 2 Dubsters on their backs???
-
The ideal cab to go with your combo would be a GK RBH115.
Just another thought. When I connect my two cabs, I use the speakon output for one cab and the jack out for the other. Is this OK to do?
Perfectly fine. It might be an issue with the amount of power you're getting from the venue?
-
What do you mean? Its a pa speaker?
Sorry, rushed answer from me. What I was asking is do you play your bass through PA or is it to be your "rig"? If it's for your main rig, I would say your bass deserves better. For a backup, it's fine & cheap enough. Or if it's all you can budget for, get it & upgrade the cab & amp as & when you can afford to.
-
So, you've got a rather nice bass & play it through the PA? Sounds cheap enough, but it is cheap.
-
I'd get in touch with the shop you bought it from as it sounds like a fault. The manual for the LMII says play to clip & then turn back slightly so it only clips on loud notes.
-
I know it's a guitar question, I'm very very sorry.

My friend has a Brass one that he uses & I found it too twangy for my liking. Beer bottle all the way!
