I don't mean to Pee on the SFT, as I'm sure it's a very good pedal, but that video does zilch for it. If you listen to the Ampeg & then click near the end & listen to the SFT/TE, they sound about as similar as Motown to Mark King! & I'm deaf & can hear that. You could probably get that sound that the SFT is doing by fiddling with the EQ on the TE & rolling off some top end (Maybe leaving something near the 3khz up to give that "click" that the Ampeg has). I don't know

Or you could learn songwriting & try finding a good singer. I can't sing a note in tune, but that doesn't stop me writing songs. Funny.... I'm trying to give you encouragement yet considering doing the same as you (but for different reasons).

I think that's more to do with the amp & the recording, rather than a particular effect. But something like a BDDI or other preamp may get you close with your jazz on the bridge pick up.

It's the only downside of my MB combo. Cats love it.

Just fill it with cotton wool. That way it's easy to revert if needed!

Where are you? I know a few folk looking for bassists up here (I keep getting offers & knocking them back). I do know how you feel though. I get to practice with my band once every 2-3 months, the rest of the time is p!ssing about cause the Mrs has a moan every time I mention "band". Seriously thinking about packing it in myself as I can't be bothered with the grief anymore. Last week I managed to arrange a band practice for tonight & checked with the Mrs & she was happy with it, then tonight when I get back she gives it "I'm not happy about you going tonight, there's a pantry needing finished".

If you have no idea what effects you want, then I'd always suggest getting a multi FX unit. It'll save you a fortune in light up bricks.

My band rarely plays with a drummer & I get to play most of the melodies with the other instruments providing the rhythm section. It's a nice refreshing change.
