1. If you've already got the 15, get another 15. If you're not going through the PA, then more of your audience will hear you than they would a 2x10+4x10 config. Don't get sucked in to the nonsense that 15's have no top end. Phil Starr gives a good point if you use PA.
2.
Why are you getting the Traveller 15? I'd start with the 410 and add a 210 to that if you need extra volume.
On this I kinda agree. I'd get to a shoppe & try out some cabs & buy 2 identical ones (if you can afford it). So if you go for the 15, get another 15. If you go for the 2x10, get another 2x10. & so on.
3. If you can solder, buy a length of instrument cable & chop it in 1/2 & buy 2 mono jacks & 2 stereo jacks. this way if the stereo to 2 mono's don't work, you can make a stereo-stereo with 1/2 (1/2d again) & a mono to mono lead for whatever else. The difference the pot will make is how far it will affect the parameter by, which if you're using it to control the Cut Off, probably wont be an issue. The Moog EP-2 Exp pedal has a pot at the side to adjust the resistance & I usually have this turned back a bit so I have more control over a narrower frequency.
4. There's a MP-201 on Gumtree for £200. Ad is from a month ago, so not sure if it's gone. If I had dinari, I'd call.

Why?

Nice one! I saw you won. There's a LOT of jealous folk out there posting a load of nonsense on the pics at TC's FB. Actually quite funny
6. My singer/guitarist plays country & americana, my mandolinist/tin whistler plays folk & I play electro & dubstep. So I suppose that makes it a Jazz band?
7. Well I asked Nathan if he had any info besides what he says in the video & he's said "The expression pedal has two 1/4" outputs and one 1/8" for other SA pedals. For other info, I'm sure SA will be posting stuff on their website soon". I don't think it's been released just as yet.

Why?
Today I tried a compressor pedal. I'd have to tinker a lot more with the controls before I found a sound that I preferred to the straight through sound. Maybe at gig volume it'll be different.
I don't use a compressor live. But when a compressor is on, you shouldn't be able to tell it is until you turn it off.

Why?

I think it depends on what style of music you're playing. If you play dubstep/DnB/breakbeat/house then you might find it improves your bassline dramatically to have some well chosen fx. I use all my fx in my current band (which is Singer/guitarist, Mandolin/tinwhistle/spoons/bodhran, sometimes a drummer & me on bass/guitar). I use Octave, Bass Murf with tap tempo, Distortion, Chorus & Low Pass Filter with expression pedal & will happily switch between sounds throughout a song. I play in a folk band! So the answer is "Why not?"
10.
Thanks for that but I meant information on the expression pedal he has in the video but I can't seem to find any other mention of it anywhere else.
I'll see what I can find out (might be loads, might be nowt, can only ask).
not on facebook mate, assuming that's the site? I need to "borrow" the missus's account - to be recommended?
Yeah, FB site. Pretty good too. 9 of us made a song. I posted it before, but here it is again... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTmAnGzNQxE&feature=g-all-u&context=G2c5f4d6FAAAAAAAABAA
11. Here you go... http://www.sourceaudio.net/products/hothand/midi_exp.php Rich, are you on Organic Bass Wobble?
12.
I could be interested, what kind of music is he looking at? Originals or covers? Would he object to me bringing the 7 string?
Just had a word with him. He's not restricted to any one style of music, but prefers Blues Rock such as Cream, Guns n Roses, Led Zep. it's mainly originals, but happy to do covers (but in your own style rather than a Karaoke stylee). As for the 7 string........He says "that could open up a new dimesion of posibilities". If you're interested, PM me & I'll pass your details to him in the morning.
13. Sounds like it's been a good weekend! We also had our first gig of the season last night at the Doghouse in Dundee. An acoustic session with 2 other bands & a couple of solo performers on the bill with us. Started off with only a small amount of folk in the venue & I thought "Oh dear, oh well, we can still have fun". But as the night went on, the place picked up. So much so that when we got on stage there was quite a decent audience. The singer/guitarist had some feedback issues with his acoustic (piezo pickup hasn't been fitted properly) & I forgot my auralex foam thingy & we was on a wooden stage that gave loads of boom, so much twiddling with EQs was needed, but we got there & what a great reception we got. So much so, that we've been asked back to do a full evening set (date TBC). Even the headline act gave his appreciation of us before he did his closing number. Gotta be the friendliest place I've ever played!
14. I decided to do a wee video of the routing on my board. To some, it might just be "Duh, obvious!" & to others it might be "Ahh! So that's how it works". hope it gives you some ideas (& making a pedal like that is a doddle if you can solder & drill holes without hurting yourself). Anyway, enjoy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z73FWmWNQbA&context=C3f9cc5dADOEgsToPDskKye3Wf_8YcXyq3dWNZZZ7B
15. One of my teammates at work (Goitarist with quite a collection & can play them too) is putting together a band & is looking for a Bassist to join him, so I said I'd ask on here if there's anyone wanting to join him? He works here in Perth but lives in Aylith (in Angus) but can travel. Anyone interested, let me know & I'll pass your details to him. G
16. I don't know why they didn't make teh cymbals yellow. Would look better than black ones.
17.
New track from Nerve - Damn its good! https://www.facebook...pp_178091127385
Just had a listen. Now if I can get my drummer to quit his job up north so we can practice & talk the guitarist into playing more synth guitar......
18. I'm another who will happily start writing on whatever instrument I have to hand, but the majority starts with a bassline or a melody in my head. My basslines often follow the melody (if they aren't the melody). If it's the singer who's written all his parts & wants me to lay a bassline down, it's totally different from the stuff that I write (not intentionally). I leave him to add lyrics to most of the songs we write.
19.
you would get on with our very own Mark Daniels (AKA 7string) if you make it along
And Dood. Unless he's moved onto the 9 strings! I'll see about sorting out something in Perth for a weekend in June/July/whenever suits.
20. Welcome to BC. I'd be up for popping down for a bash (if you'll have me, that is).
21.
Thats really cool. If anything like that is done again, i'd totally be up for joining in!
i'll give you a shout when the next one is starting. Not sure when it is yet though.
22. Hehe, I might make it my avatar. I'll need to get a good listen tomorrow as the Mrs has commandeered the mac
23. I'm on it a lot more than I expected to be! I'm looking forward to hearing it at home (finish work at 10 tonight).
24. And this thread is back from the dead! It's for Dubstep & effects so here's a video that I partook in... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTmAnGzNQxE
