Over on a Facebook forum called Organic Bass Wobble, 9 bassists collaborated to make a bit of Dubstep. A short beat was provided & given a key & asked to submit a bit of bass & after some fine work by Code: Marla, here is the finished mix. Enjoy. I often play my electro -acoustic through my Markbass combo & it sounds excellent (Markbass do also make acousic guitar rigs). I plugged a Yamaha strat thing into it & it sounded pants. But my mate plugged a Fender strat into a Vox AC-30 & it sounded pants too.

Bump for those whose up this way. There's 4 other acts on with us (not all at the same time of course).

I've just bought a Trace Elliot GP7...SM300 7210H, I think?
xgsjx replied to iconic's topic in Amps and Cabs
What a disappointment The headline on the front said "I've just bought a Trac" & I was expecting it to end with "tor". Nice find. looks like you've grabbed a bargain! -
I do indeed. Fitted perfect with my acoustic band tonight. Retains loads of low end & can add all sorts off effects to the 2nd channel. Here's some better pics... #3019

New homebuilt router on board & new layout. Sounds pretty awesome. Shep would have a field day with my wiring (either that, or a heart attack!).

All built & working. Pics to prove it! Signal goes Bass into Black Router, send to OC-3 > Bass Murf. Left out from Murf (Notched at 160, 350 & 775 Hz only) into SDS-2 & into the return on BR. BR out goes to the CE-2 > MF-101 & then into C1 on mix section on BR. Right out from Bass Murf goes straight to C2 on BR mix (only frequencies below 110 Hz & a 240 Hz notch goes to this channel) & then both channels mixed together. When engaged the CE-2 & LPF only affect the looped signal (so all sub is clean). When not engaged, it's a clean sound straight into the CE-2 & LPF. Proper band test tonight! Sound clips to follow!

Just a shout to the company I got the parts from. http://www.rshelectronics.co.uk/ Excellent service, great communication (I asked questions about parts on a Saturday afternoon & they emailed me back the same day & also on the Sunday) & good prices. What impressed me was that I placed the order on the Sunday & got the parts on Tuesday. The way it should be. I'd recommend these guys any time.

DANCER! Pedal works! Thanks guys. I need to do a proper test tomorrow to make sure, but all seems fine at low volume. No shielding needed (probably just jinxed it though!). Will get pics tomorrow too.
Sorry for the late reply. Where have you got your grounds tied to? Also, have you shielded the ABS box? Start there and then worry about what you've got going into each input!
Thanks TG, should I tap all my grounds to the top of a pot? The box isn't shielded, I could spray glue into the box (emptied) & stick tinfoil into it.

[s]Fixed it! Pics coming soon.[/s] Nope, I haven't! Buzzes like a big fridge. Any ideas anyone? It's fine 1 channel at a time, but the minute I put 2 ins. BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!! I'll have a mess about after work tomorrow.

Hey guys, asking for help again. The looper side I have working ok. The mixer side, not yet. I need to know where to stick the ground? It's an ABS case (plastic to you & me), so I thought the output ground would go on the tops of the pots. Nope! No signal. Here's the schematic (well, picture), could someone please help? I'm making it just 2 channel
-
Just a thought, a on/off switch in the middle of the patch lead would be a useful thing. Or you could patch to a looper.
TRS without the R connected? Isn't that just a TS? As in, regular mono? Thats all I use for patching between them. I've played around with loads of combinations of stuff. Some sound great, but I've never found a way to use them live with the exception of the Ring Mod to Phaser patching which is explained on the post with my signal chain (a page or two back on this thread). I've actually have little success using the 101's envelope for anything in a live situation.
It could be used as a mono cable but if you used it for stereo, only one channel would come through. I used stereo jacks as the mono jack would have shorted the R & S together & I didn't know if that would still work (aparantly it still does). Have you tried using the ENV Out on something that regulates speed, like the 108s speed?
-
You don't need a joiner to angle the pedal board, just a cople of rubber feet/stoppers screwed to the top edge (underneath of course).
-
Shep, do you make use of the CV outs on the moogers? I have a patch lead that I made up (TRS without the R connected) & I take it out the Env out on the 101 & either back into one of the 101s ins or to either the Rate or LFO on the 105b. I'm sure you could get some awesome textures that change with the note as it decays with what you have (as if you didn't already!).
Sadly not, would be a good one for Boss to consider though! I've got one on my iPhone by Steinway and I just put it on mute, acts as a counter with a stream on it. It was free as well.
I use one called metrocolor on my iPhone that was free & has a couple of good visual options.

Cheers guys. Both legs was the same length, but one side of the LED does have a flat bit on it & appears to be to ground. I'm gonna try tapping a couple of wires on either side of the LED & check if it works. I'll test the audio side of things too & report back.
http://www.flightcas...sp?groupID=4748 I've got the medium size, pic below for scale, you may need the large looking at what you're going to put on there. It's basically a flightcase with a board of wood in to put your pedals onto. Put some brackets under the board (there is plenty of room) and you can keep wires tidy underneath, plus it's a flightcase so you're not going to destroy your pedals in transit and what not... I'm re-doing mine at the minute and things like power supply, wireless and thumpinator are going to go under the board, that's the kind of space you get. Definitely worth a look! Another option, if you don't mind a bit of DIY, is to go on ebay, find a flightcase around about the size you're after (make sure you get enough depth!!) and then use a board of wood for your pedalboard. stick rubber feet on the flightcase and you've essentially got the same for less dosh.
That's where I got mine from & I just modified the board that was in the flightcase to sit at an angle, put handles on it & attached clips for the cables under it. Holds 2 Moogs, 3 boss sized pedals, an exp pedal & about to add a looper pedal to that too.

I didn't know LEDs required the polarity to be the right way round (I thought they'd just be like a tungsten)? I did try reversing the polarity on the PSU though & still nothing. I'll have a mess about when I get home (@3:30)

Well I started my pedal project last night. Spent ages determining where it's going on the board & laying it out & now have my 1st problem. I haven't tried the loop yet & the mixer section isn't wired as yet, but I plugged the power in (all it does is power an LED), but the LED didn't work. & how do you know what pin 1 is on a 3PDT, or is pin 1 & pin 9 the same? Here's the schematic for the looper section... http://experimentalistsanonymous.com/diy/Schematics/Buffers%20Switchers%20Mixers%20and%20Routers/TB%20with%20LED%20and%20volume.gif & here's some pics of what I've done so far... Can that tuner be used as a metronome? I've been looking for a large metronome light (no sound).

I've just got the parts for my first ever pedal project. Nothing complex, a looper & 2 channel mixer in one. I got schematics for a simple passive mixer so I can take the L & R out of the Bass Murf & put the L channel through a few FX & have the R channel just a clean 110Hz shelf & I got the schematics for a simple looper with an LED. The looper is so I don't have to tapdance so much as I often go from a clean tone to octave, dirt & filter I'm putting the whole lot in the one box so it takes up less room. Pics when I've made it/come up with problems & need help.

You can remove the head from all the combos, but you need to get a top plate for the head. The heads used in the combo s are LM II/IIIs. Top plate can easily be made with a thin sheet of metal cut to size & 4 holes drilled in it (where the bolts go through, of course).

OK, got a start time for the gig as well as further details.... First band is on at 8 pm & there is 3 other bands/acts doing acoustic sets. So it should be a really good night. Click here for the Facebook page for the evening.
