  1. Great topic! I love playing bass, especially get DnB or Dubstep sounds. Got flatwounds on my bass & can roll off all the top with the Moog LPF & bring it in as a swell on longish notes. Immense at volume
  2. My moog MF-101 used to whine like a shortwave radio. I got some sticky backed copper paper & put it on the wood sides & made sure that connected with the chassis & put it on it's own PSU. Noise free now I don't know if you could copper shield the BEF? Hopefully Will has your answers.
  3. You need to extend your tour up this waay!
  4. Semi para 4 band? LMII maybe? Wait a min, didn't the ABM replace that? If you're after a valve sound why not get a clean amp (like the LMII or whatever else) & add a pedal such as the DHA VT1 or a Sansamp?
  5. [quote name='Rumble' timestamp='1317751109' post='1394176'] I think I know where you're coming from, but to avoid assumptions, why? [/quote] If you're asking me about the Gramma Pad, then it's because it reduces the vibrations that can be enhanced by hollow stages/wooden floors. if you're asking JTUK, then I haven't a scooby
  6. I can't advise on the cab, but have you tried just dropping either the 180hz or 340hz slider to see if that helps? The other thing that might help is a Gramma Pad (if your cab is on a stage/wooden floor).
  7. I'm sure there's a mod you can do to store the stations.
  8. Another double bass??? What about this...
  9. You could probably get a 2nd hand Little Phatty for less than £750. I'm tempted!
  10. Have you tried just the power amp on it's own (no pre plugged in)?
  11. Try PMing itswac. I think he works for or with Source Audio. Oh, & whilst I notice your sig, go & have a look here... [url="http://basschat.co.uk/topic/156872-october-photo-comp-2011/"]http://basschat.co.uk/topic/156872-october-photo-comp-2011/[/url]
  12. Still kicking yourself?! I could kick myself for not buying one a few years ago for £50, but hindsight is a great thing. They've stopped making Bass Murfs, so I'm holding onto mine until the next famous bassist uses it as a staple part of his/her sound.
  13. Maybe not actually a fix, but a workaround is to use another site to host the file. I use Flickr for pics & just put the BBCode in here & it has no trouble with it. A soundcloud link (or similar) could be used for audio files & Youchoob for videos.
  14. Believe it or not, I use my envelope filter all the time. It's even on for those 12 bar walking blues lines! I hardly use the thing as an auto wah though. I have the exp pedal into the cut off so I can have just a bassy sound during verses etc & open it up during choruses or to turn that ballad that everyone's falling asleep to into a dubstep stomper!
  15. You might want to have a look at adding a PA sub to your rig if you're after some really low frequencies
  16. Could you not have had some fun with him?
  17. Posted before, but here's my electro soundcloud... [url="http://soundcloud.com/xgsjx/sets/frequency-response/"]http://soundcloud.com/xgsjx/sets/frequency-response/[/url] I haven't got anything bass related on there yet, but I do plan to!
  18. Get some early U2 basslines. Lots of easy ones there. There's also the Cult, Electric is simple one note basslines & great fun to play along to.
  19. I'd love to go but it's a bit of a trek from up here & I'd need to be back for work the following morning if I (miraculously) made it. Ask him if he fancies doing one up in this neck of the woods?
  20. I tried it a couple of years ago. Like Dave says, one allows you to have a blend of wet & dry & the other is 100% wet through the fx loop. I've never used teh fx loop since & just run bass > pedal board > amp input.
  21. When I got mine, there was the SR-800FL. I think the only thing they do now is the 2 GWBs.
  22. I'm pretty sure when that was first made is was advertised at $250k. That's a big depreciation!

  24. Sweet. Here's a bump & all the best with the sale!
  25. I stripped the poly off my 20+ year old bass (had more chips than the golden fryer) & refinished the wood in oil & wax. Looks better than ever IMO, although it wouldn't have suited me 20 years ago. I gave it about 20 coats of Danish & then a couple of coats of wax. Cleaning it is just the same as cleaning any other bass.
