1. I seriously doubt you or your audience would notice the difference between a 4 ohm & an 8 ohm cab. The main difference is you can't add another cab if you go for a 4 ohm.
2. The Source Audio BEF (& BEF Pro) look like hot contenders for that. My fave filter is the Moog, but I'm not sure it's the best for what you want.
3. Driving the lower frequencies does take quite a bit more than mid & top.
4. Some excellent sounds there. I'm really digging this kinda bass sound just now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8KUbNMy I still cant get this youchoob malarky to work!
5. We only do a few covers, mostly originals & I use most of my pedals all the time. I'll often use the Moog LPF with some fuzz to keep just a bassy sound & then open it up a bit more when we want the song to come alive. My singer/guitarist has just gotten an Adrenalinn, so hoping to sync it with the Bass Murf & make good use of some patterns.
6. I concur! Brilliant work & good to hear something completely different. Some of the sounds you are making are immense!!!!! Let me know if/when you're touring up this way & I'll be there (or if I'm down your way at all...). That reminds me, PM coming your way shortly.
7. Really good job you've done. Did you do it in Reason? When I had Reason 2.5 (many moons ago) I felt that it had it's own sound (you could tell it was done in reason), but your mix sounds really good. I agree with 51m0n, much better than the original (though I think the music that she's done is a bit lame, nice vocal though).
8. Don't get hung up on how many watts an amp is, they aren't the deciding factor on how loud you can go. Moving air is the clincher. A combo may be a better/cheaper option for you as Bigwan says & there's plenty from Ashdown, SWR, Hartke & a few others. Have a look on here in the For Sale section. You may well even find a decent rig in your price range.
9. Not that I know of. Where are you?
10. Interesting! I tried snowboarding & made myself into a big snowball! I'l stick to bass.
11. I know there's a couple of members on here that's went from LMII to LMIII & posted about it in here. Can't find out how to do a search.
12. The newer MB combos have LM3s, older ones have the LM2 (though you probably already knew that). I think the only way to find out if it's worth the extra is to go & A/B them, but other than the DI having a level control, I don't think there's any difference.
13. I thought it was your ring mod to start with on a split signal. Now there woudl be an interesting thing. Split signal & one side going through the slicer & then into the ring mod then LPF, other channel going through the OC2 & what ever else. Could give an interesting result (or maybe just a crap one ).
14. Do you split your signal so one remains intact & the other gets chopped up or is it just the way the slicer does things?
15. Had a listen. Excellent stuff! A bit different from what I was expecting but very catchy & great sounds. I really like that pingy blippy sound on Barcode Babble, how do you get that?
16. I'll get a listen at @ 3pm (lunchtime for me).
17. If you liked the MB 104 then why not get one of them? Me myself, I'd be looking at 2x10s (or 12s) or Alex's offerings. The Barefaced super 12 runs at 4Ω & apparently a stupidly loud cab, but as you probably know, getting max watts out your head into the one cab doesn't mean any noticeable increase in volume.
18. Musically, very good! I like it a lot. Vocally, too stereotypical. Sorry. Sound's like late 80's thrash. Yes, have some of the "gargle with gravel" vocals there, but it needs something to make people listen & go "wow". Maybe even a female vocalist (or if you could get an opera singer?) to sing alongside your current vocalist. Bass playing was spot on.
19. If you're happy with 2nd hand, then I can recommend the Markbass CMD102p combo. One of the loudest, lightest & best sounding combos I've ever played through & it's never let me down. The amp section is a Little Mark II (or III if you go for a newer one), so adding another cab is no probs & it has an fx loop that can be pre or post (one position mixes it with your dry signal). They usually pop in the For Sale section on here for @ £600 (they're @ £1k new). Like Prime bass says, there's plenty of decent kit in your price range, better quality stuff if you go down the 2nd hand route. I can understand you being interested in the TC gear, but Marshall? Unless it's their older gear, the only thing that intrigues me about them is why are they still making crap bass gear?
20. I'm really looking forward to hearing your new stuff. Was very impressed with the 1st EP.
21. I've just hurt my back thinking about trying to lift that thing!
22. I like the wee box at the top right that has a load of options. Nice touch. Is there a way to switch to desktop version? That would be handy for jumping pages.
