  1. +1 to the above. If the pedal will stick without removing anything, that's a bonus.
  2. That would be BIG drivers! @ 79" and 178"
  3. The Moog LPF buzzed & hummed like a beach with even just one other pedal on the Godlyke. Putting it on a separate PSU, the other 5 pedals all powered from the Godlyke without any hum at all. I've got another board now (though I still have 2 of the original pedals) & all the pedals run with no noise. So like dannybuoy says, it could just be one of those pedals causing the noise. You might be the lucky one & all 4 of your pedals don't like being on a daisy.
  4. I have a Godlyke 1.7a wart with a daisy. Runs all my pedals without issue. I used to have a Moog LPF that hated sharing power, so it got its own wart. I don’t think the Godlyke warts are available any more, but the OneSpot is very similar.
  5. Oddly enough, yes.
  6. Another option is to get a Revolut card. Me & the Mrs got Revolut for going on holiday, as it's an app & card that works just like a cash card, but there's no fees for exchange from £ to $ (or any currency). You can transfer money to people by just using the app.
  7. If it's that basic, then an iMac from the past 10 or so years would be fine. You'd probably still be able to use plug ins too. My old iMac from 2007 would have done that without issue. I'd get the best spec'd mac you can afford.
  8. You could run the 2 amps, putting the 4 ohm cab on the LM250. You could even take the fx send from the LMIII to the LM250 (maybe straight into the fx return on it).
  9. It depends on what you’re wanting to play. But learn both. No point on focusing on finger style first, if most of the songs you want to play use a plectrum (& vice versa). I started with mostly plectrum playing, but 34 years on & I’m mostly using my fingers, though there’s still a few songs I use a plectrum for.
  10. Well done chaps. A great effort from all too. Bring on this month's pic.
  11. Well after the 2 & a bit years of having the KA6, it does everything I wanted & more. To top it off, it's built like a tank. The Scarlet 2i2 is a good contender too, as is Audient.
  12. My point was more to do with volume isn't measured in watts, but you do make a good point.
  13. I'd do that 200 mile round trip. Make a day of it. I've been an Ibby player since 1990 & though I've had a few other basses over the years, the Ibby is My go to instrument. But... There's a lot of great options out there & what's good for me might not suit you. That's why I say try loads. £700 is a decent budget too.
  14. Because valve watts are louder than those solid ones. Over the past while, I've gigged with a 100w Carlsberg amp into 2 1x15s, a 200w Trace Elliot 4x10 combo, a 350w Markbass 2x10 combo, a 30w Vox 1x12 combo & a 200w Radiovox valve amp into a 4x10. Any can be used for gigging, though the 30w Vox only got used for the more intimate gigs (less than 50 people & it wasn't a noisy venue). It's not about how many watts your rig can make, but how many decibels. So the real answer is, an 8x10 stack should be ample, though you might need 2 for the bigger gigs.
  15. You can get close with a good filter pedal (I used to have the Moog & now have the Source Audio BEF Pro, both get decent results) & you’ll need a dirt pedal to get a bit more of that sort of tone. If you've got funds, the Roli Seaboard gets it spot on & you can control the filters on the fly, but it’s a separate instrument.
  16. On keys. She likes her synths. & slapping together 2 bits of wood.
  17. Got mine finished. Roli Equator for the double bass & one of the violins, FExpansion Strobe 2 for the other violin & trumpet, Logic EXS24 for the piano & the drummer in the box that the guy's sitting on is Logic's very own drummer. Apart from the drums, all was played on the Seaboard.
  18. I've got some score/tablature if you want it PMd?
  19. That white Welsh bloke can groove with very few notes.
  20. Now that's tidy idea.
  21. Having been in one of those types of bands where it's just really the guitarist wanting to solo & play riffs in between the solos, I had no intention of ever playing in a band that played 60s - 80s rock ever again. But then I have musical frustrations & can't commit to a band, so we jam the out of songs that I'd pay never to hear played again. The singist in the following video never came back ( I think he was number 6). We auditioned a new singist last week & he seems like he may come back on Wednesday, but then previous singists said they would & didn't, so I shan't hold my breath. I try to wreck these songs as much as I can. We played Gloria by Van Morrison 2 weeks ago, I found the bassline for Ghostbusters fitted it perfectly. The guitarist has tried to get us to play Hey Hey My My several times & I can have a great time with octave & filter on that one. Anytime I play, I just try to enjoy myself, even if the song is crap.
  22. If the guitarist made the same comment to me re "Something funky in A minor", I'd have responded with "Paedo?". As for Jamming with widdling guitarist, it's fun. I can be a widdling bassist when I need to & will play off the guitar & then go back to my main job of laying a solid groove for him to widdle on.

    Small monitors

That couldn't ring truer with me. We spend a bloody fortune on cheese! The Mrs probably spends more a month on cheese than I've ever spent in a year on music!
  24. I've got an SR. Like above, get or make a decent lead. Any worth it's salt has the jacks gripping the cable so you an pull the cable without it leaving the jack in the socket. Also the Neutrik jacks are long enough to grab hold of.
