  1. Well spotted!
  2. 2 years ago I was gonna get a Rise 25. Had a couple of plays on it & everyone, from the dad in law to the guys in music shops all said "You don't want that as your main keyboard", so I got the S88. As great as the S88 was, the Rise is much better for me. It can be used like a keyboard, but it just opens up expression much more & screams to be played. I wish I wouldn't have listened to anyone back then & just got the Rise.
  3. I know someone called buttons. From my trumpet playing days, I know them as valves.
  4. it could well be.
  5. I swapped my NI S88 for a Roli Rise last week. I've been sitting here for the past hour & a bit just going through sounds that match what's in the pic. I've got a great double bass sound, a good solo violin & other strings & a great selection of brass instruments (though there's a pretty good brassy reed instrument that might get the place). I'm toying with going for a lekky piano, though the acoustic pianos that I have are pretty good.
  6. I'm liking the pic.
  7. I use a Vox Venue Bass 30 for in the home (& even for smaller gigs). It's a 1x12 combo. Weighs about the same as a Markbass 2x10 combo. The thing is, it does sound really good especially for something that, when you can find one for sale, is less than £50.
  8. So you're obviously referring to me. Not a very nice comment from you that, is it. I Speak from experience of having used a 2x10 with a 1x15 & finding that some venues it could sound great at one part of the audience & not so good at another. It varied. I wasn't having a go at you in any way, I had already stated that some combinations of 2x10 & 1x15 work well for some people, just that 2 of the same cab is a more secure option.
  9. You’re one of the ones that got on with a 2x10 & 1x15.
  10. 2x12 is a good option. 2 2x12 is fine for big gigs where you need volume & have no PA. 2x10 or 2x12 and a 1x15 is going to give you random sound. Not a good idea, though some get on with it. Even in the one room you'll find you can stand at different parts of the room & it'll sound different. 2 1x15 is another good option, so is 2 2x10.

I'm looking to see what the wife has that I can sell.

That's due to the cab more than the driver. Try both the 2x10s & the 1x15s, get 2 of the same cab. Having 2 different cab means you're likely to have an unpredictable sound at each venue. I know the 80s are making a comeback, but not everything from the 80s needs to come back (e.g. mismatched cabs)

Diameter has no bearing on the sound. You could try a MarkBass 4x10 & an EBS 4x10 next to each other & find one sounds completely different to the other.

Why go for 2 different cabs? Try both out & get 2 of the ones that you like the best.
  15. Heat the glue up with a lighter/heat tool until it starts to bubble a little & then stick it down. You'll never get it off. Don't attempt to do the entire strip in one go. You'll end up with it round your arm. Start at one end & work your way along.

It should still run it fine. Just check the specs. Even using it with my iPhone is superb. The sounds in Noise are great. Oh, that reminds me... I've got Animoog on the iPad. & connecting midi over bluetooth is another bonus.

After listening to people saying things like "you don't want a Seaboard as your main controller, You need a proper keyboard" and taking their advice & wasting time & money on a 88 note keyboard, I've finally swapped it for a Rise 25. As much as I liked the NI S88, it was too big for me to have set up anywhere. The Roli I can play just about anywhere & I can see me using it in the band. Here's something I made today. The keys & lead are Roli Equator, the bass is Alchemy & Logic drummer provides the beats.
  18. No entry from me. I just couldn't get anything to grow & the sounds were a bit shitake.
  19. +1 I have D'addario Chromes. I play finger style too. No problems with dirt. I used to use TI Jazz flats & had no issues there either. I'm looking for a new dirt pedal too. I've never tried a B3K, but if it sounds pants with flats, then that's now off my list of dirt pedals.
  20. Bollocks! Dirt on flatwound sounds awesome.
  21. When I had an OC-3, I found that it was usually fine on the low A (5th on E string), but Ab would play 90s hardcore. I missed the OC-2 & opted against the Meatbox. But I'm expecting delivery of a MXR BOD either today or tomorrow. Sounded good on the choob.
  22. They're not doing themselves any favours, are they.
  23. It sounds like the BC410 might just not be a very efficient cab. Not so much to do with the watts & more to do with the SPL? But then I run a 200w amp onto a 800w 4x10 & that's pretty loud too.
  24. OC-2 or Meatbox?
  25. I would sum all your signals back to one point before sending it to your amp or FOH. Though the soundy might be really happy with 3 DIs that he can control.
