That's due to the cab more than the driver. Try both the 2x10s & the 1x15s, get 2 of the same cab. Having 2 different cab means you're likely to have an unpredictable sound at each venue. I know the 80s are making a comeback, but not everything from the 80s needs to come back (e.g. mismatched cabs)

Diameter has no bearing on the sound. You could try a MarkBass 4x10 & an EBS 4x10 next to each other & find one sounds completely different to the other.

Why go for 2 different cabs? Try both out & get 2 of the ones that you like the best.
  4. Heat the glue up with a lighter/heat tool until it starts to bubble a little & then stick it down. You'll never get it off. Don't attempt to do the entire strip in one go. You'll end up with it round your arm. Start at one end & work your way along.

It should still run it fine. Just check the specs. Even using it with my iPhone is superb. The sounds in Noise are great. Oh, that reminds me... I've got Animoog on the iPad. & connecting midi over bluetooth is another bonus.

After listening to people saying things like "you don't want a Seaboard as your main controller, You need a proper keyboard" and taking their advice & wasting time & money on a 88 note keyboard, I've finally swapped it for a Rise 25. As much as I liked the NI S88, it was too big for me to have set up anywhere. The Roli I can play just about anywhere & I can see me using it in the band. Here's something I made today. The keys & lead are Roli Equator, the bass is Alchemy & Logic drummer provides the beats.
  7. No entry from me. I just couldn't get anything to grow & the sounds were a bit shitake.
  8. +1 I have D'addario Chromes. I play finger style too. No problems with dirt. I used to use TI Jazz flats & had no issues there either. I'm looking for a new dirt pedal too. I've never tried a B3K, but if it sounds pants with flats, then that's now off my list of dirt pedals.
  9. Bollocks! Dirt on flatwound sounds awesome.
  10. When I had an OC-3, I found that it was usually fine on the low A (5th on E string), but Ab would play 90s hardcore. I missed the OC-2 & opted against the Meatbox. But I'm expecting delivery of a MXR BOD either today or tomorrow. Sounded good on the choob.
  11. They're not doing themselves any favours, are they.
  12. It sounds like the BC410 might just not be a very efficient cab. Not so much to do with the watts & more to do with the SPL? But then I run a 200w amp onto a 800w 4x10 & that's pretty loud too.
  13. I would sum all your signals back to one point before sending it to your amp or FOH. Though the soundy might be really happy with 3 DIs that he can control.
  14. Polytune is a great pedal. Another good cheap option is the Korg Pitchblack Poly. Fairly small & about £50 new. There's also the Pitchblack Mini for @ £55.
  15. The context that the OP put makes it sound like it's in relation to a band setting. If it's just bass alone, then you're not going to know whether that B & D is the start of Bm or not, you gonna just have to sit back & enjoy the music.
  16. Yes. It could be root & 3rd, but if there's another musician in the band, even a singer, then they're going to complete the chord.
  17. I've heard bands that don't use samples that have no artistic content!

I'll be picking based on both looks and sound. It's on hold just now, so the criteria may change.
  19. I bought a Source Audio BEF Pro from Henry yesterday. Very easy & friendly to deal with. Great communication. It arrived this morning! How rapid is that!!! Well packaged too & in excellent condition. If Henry is selling anything & it's something you want, feel confident in dealing with this fine chap. I'd happily buy from him again.
  20. Bill is one of the few folk who has one. One certain BC member bought up loads of them & now they’re hard to get.
  21. They’ve held it steady in this thread for some time now.
  22. If you played bass in an electronica, drum n bass or dubstep band, then you'll find sustain is a very useful thing. It's quite common in those genres for the bassist to play a note & have it last for a few bars whilst playing about with filters & other effects. Jolly good fun, old bean.
