The latest version is similar, but different, though it is only £329.

You should have given me a bit of notice, I'd have baked BC a cake. Happy Birthday BC I've been here for 9 of those & it's still my fave thing on the tinterweb.
I claimed. The claim was declined. No sign of violent break in. Any returned goods are mine. Still waiting with fingers crossed. Update to follow once I liaise with the police. Andy
I take it they were stolen from a vehicle?
Yup. But I am not sure about where the second one should go... I suppose folk might pay extra to see. I'm not that broke yet. PS; Are you saying those are what I was joking about only they're real?
The threaded end goes into the back of the bass. The 2nd one is for the lady bassist who might want more stability (I'm sure there's a male version with a hoop instead of a ball).
You are lucky to be proportioned that way. The crowning achievement would be for you to arrange a belly button bearing attachment to your guitar that allows subtle guitar rotation in the style of ZZ Top.
You mean one of these? Just need to build up my core strength.
Have identical builds, but one will be a lined fretless. Then only have one out of its case at a time, whilst the other lurks in the shadows. Worth a try

Have two necks made for it and swap them over occasionally.
I'm liking these ideas! I might have to start with the 2 necks option & then at a later date, get a 2nd loaded body built.
One of each, it's what I did.
That would be ideal, but I don't know how well it would go down with the Mrs.

Good to see they made an edible neck too. Many who try & make bass or guitar cakes use a real neck, which is a bit lame. Wonder if the real Stingray will have a "40" on the side?

Many straps have 2 holes on the tail end about 4" apart, could you not make use of these if you really need to be adjusting your bass height? Reading chris b's post, I think he's suggesting the same, but with strap locks. I don't adjust my bass height regardless of playing fingers (which is the majority these days), slapping or with pick. The bass is the same height whether sitting or standing. Bellybutton at the middle of the bass.

I decided a couple of weeks ago that once I come back from holiday in the end of July, I'm going to save for a nice 5 string bass, possibly fretless. I went online for a wee look to see what there is that I like & after popping on Bass Direct, I saw a couple of rather nice Maruszczyk basses, a Jazzus & an Elwood. I thought I'd pop in to this section of BC (which I never visit for fear of GAS) to see what you chaps had to say about them. The last thing I expected to see was a 65 page thread dedicated to them! Now I've played with he configurator & designed me a very nice bass that is a little more than I was planning on spending. Ah well, just means I'll be saving a little longer. Question is... Fretless or fretted? I love playing fretless, but I'm not sure how it would be to play every song on fretless (I'm a "play one bass for the whole set" kind a guy).

Three attempts at trying to write something. I'd get a sound that I thought screamed colourful cavern, but as hard as I tried, I was going nowhere. Each one I thought was going to be relaxing "sit back & look at the pretty colours" stuff. But Noooo, not this one. Started from scratch yesterday. Took a sample & chopped it up & rearranged things, added a load of fx & filters & changed the pitch completely. Added a bit of slap bass & put more filters & other colourful things on the different tracks. So, not what first hit me... If you really want to hear it, click on that letter "I". I have a new entry further down.

You want one of these...
About par for the course. I have worked on a LOT of laptops and none of them are that easy. Worst thing is having to change a surface mounted DC input socket. Pain???? You want to talk about pain?????
True, but most are a bit easier than that. I can only imagine the joys of replacing that DC input socket. Tell the customer it's cheaper to replace it.

Try D'Addario Chromes. They're flats, but have a little bit of brightness to them. I've found they wear in quite nicely. Another option might be to try either 1/2 rounds or tape wound strings.

I used a Moog Exp pedal with my Moog pedals. Was pretty good. I'f I was gonna spend a bit of money & had pedals, I'd probably get a HotHand.

I'd be demanding the full cost of repair/replacement and compensation for the time that you're without the cab. What's the point in their "insurance" if they're not gonna honour it.
And a silly one that gets overlooked. If this is an "older" machine, it could be as simple as dust cat or dog hair carpet fluff etc blocking the ventilating fan outlet. Put you hand against the exhaust vent and see if there is air coming out as usual ands that it isnt scaldingly hot. Common fault on older laptops, especially Sony.
The Mrs has an HP laptop. The fan, situated at the corner clogs regularly with cat hair. The downside is to get to the fan, you have to take the whole laptop apart to get to it! You have to take the screen off too just to get the motherboard out. Proper crap design that takes ages. It's been done 3 times in the time that we've had the laptop & it now resides in a cupboard, replaced by a macbook.

From what Osiris has said, the lowest frequency dial on the RH450 is 70hz, whereas the LMII/III it is 40hz. This isn't saying that the RH450 won't reproduce 40hz frequencies, but that the LM boosts/cuts at 40hz with the knob labelled "Bass".

Could be a problem with the graphics card/chip. I'd try dannybuoy's advice first.
I take offence to "baw heedit numpty". Nice one Dave
You're not a singist, are you?
-
I'd never use the term to offend anyone. I'd never dream of using it to refer to someone whom has a condition or difficulty. I use the term guitard only to refer to those whom are not musically gifted & not willing to learn either. Those that just make a noise & noodle constant piffle. I'm still looking for a phrase to use to describe those baw heedit numpties who turn up for singer auditions & don't know a thing about music or able to hold a decent tune! They rip ma nitting oot!!!
-
If you're happy with your tuner doing splitter duties & handy with a soldering iron, why not build your own blend pedal? I used to use a Bass Murf to split the signal & built my own blender. Easy build.
-
I don't use the term when I refer to musicians who play guitar, such as the guitarist in my current band. But I do use the term to refer to the retarded twazzicks who turn up with a guitar & a pedal train full of nothing but dirt pedals & don't consider playing in the band, but rather as using the band as a backing track for them to make a noise. They are Guitards. I'm sure there's Basstards out there too!

Any famous guitarists good at playing bass?

My 1st thought was Prince. http://youtu.be/sordWByWM-M -
Is this a mad idea? Playing house parties
xgsjx replied to redbandit599's topic in General Discussion
I've played a couple of house parties in the past. Drummer would either use the lekky kit or a cajon. A few times it was bass, guitar & mandolin. They went acoustic with me using a wee combo. Always been houses away from anywhere else.
