1.
Bent Bit Of Tim Bent Bit Of Tim is quite a disturbing image
Indeed. They're pretty brutal! I was going to correct it before I hit post, but then I remembered good ol'e TIM & decided to leave it.
2. Bent Bit of Tim. I never noticed a difference in sound or sustain when I changed from a high mass to a bbot.
3. I really wanted to get an entry in. I even got the funky bass sound that I wanted, but I doubt I'm gonna get anything done in time. It's another great pic too.
4. Garageband is a stripped down version of Logic. Ideal for finding out if Logic is going to be for you. With Logic you have full control over all those presets & track stacks (track stacks are basically multiple VST tracks enveloped into one master VST track. Youtube it) as well as being able to manipulate Drummer to great detail (Drummer is Apple's version of EZDrummer, etc). I used Cubase from the mid 90s through to about 2007 (along with an early version of Reason). Then I got my first Mac & only had Cubase for Windows. I installed Reaper, but I found I was using Garageband more. I jumped to Logic about a year ago & it's all that I use now. To me, Logic is worth buying just for some of the AU instruments & fx alone.
5. If the headphone port works with the iPhone headphones (which is more than likely), then you could get an adaptor that has in/out to plug into it, such as an iRig. I'd still opt for an audio interface.
6. Is this sticky thread not of use? http://basschat.co.uk/topic/87414-how-to-make-a-good-looking-and-sounding-youtube-video/
7. The best thing to do is try it. Just make sure your Ω are good for the amp. If it was a guitar rig you was using, I'd say play lightly with the left, but bass gear usually covers the same frequency range as PA. I used my MarkBass as church PA a few times. Playing guitar, bass & edrums through it as well as music from mp3s.
8. There's a thread in the FX section dedicated to using iOS gigging rigs to replace your fx & amp. I'll likely go down this route if I go gigging (more likely to be the macbook & audio interface for me though as I have NI guitar rig & Logic Pro X on there).
9. Ooh. I think I might get to use some clavinet with wah this month.
10. I'm a musician. Bass just happens to be my fave instrument to play. I play more at home than I do in a band these days & enjoy writing songs, though I do play keys more than any other instrument nowadays. So much so, I'm thinking about becoming the keys player in the band. If I wasn't in the band, I'd still play bass.
11.
But... but... but... I thought this was for bass only..?
Bass trumpet (AKA tenor horn)?
12.
Speaking of which for next month if I plugged two basses into one amp and played them at the same time is that ok or a sneaky way to get around the one track rule?
If you video it as proof, I'd vote for you!
13. It's like at my work, they have a monthly draw & you nominate people. The organisers said "You can vote for yourself", but to me, it's not the done thing. Not one for blowing my own trumpet.
14. Looking forward to seeing the pic. Hopefully something funky sci-fi?
15. Well done Monrats. Great track. Stellar work from all the entries.
16. I've just spent the past wee while going through all the tracks & if someone wants to make an awesome sic-fi movie, then this is the entire soundtrack! I've got a job trying to choose just 3.
17. I suppose you've just found that watts have little to do with volume. Just like 200bhp can vary from vehicle to vehicle on how fast it goes.
18. Finally got a noodle. Does anyone else find that when you're not recording, you play smoothly, but the minute you hit that record button... Anyway, I actually came up with this when playing along with a DADGAD thing a guitarist was doing. They went well together. https://soundcloud.com/gxmix/soba Didn't intend on keeping the click track there, but now I know it bounces if you don't turn it off.
19.
Which sport will this World Cup be in? Clearly it's not football.
Shinty, of course.
20. The best way to protect it is to write a song about Scotland winning. There's many ways to officially copyright a song, but I believe it automatically gets copyrighted as soon as you've got your recording. Getting it out there? Try social media such as Facebook, twatter, Youchoob, etc. Hit the team's media pages with links & do lots of networking. Good luck with it.
21.
I've considered mounting my keyboard on a Segway
Well when you get older you could attach it to a zimmer.
22. I'll try & record a bit of bass later this afternoon.
23. I've managed to get mine a little better. I wasn't completely happy with the lead sound, so I've stuck a little dirt on it & added a 2nd instrument & mixed things a little better. https://soundcloud.com/gxmix/a74 Looking forward to listening to everyone's tracks next week.
24.
It's been seven hours and fifteen days.
Since she took her bike away.
25. They sell mattress protectors in the BC shop?
