If I fetched either home, the wife would gi me grief. I'd take my chance with the Ritter though.
What apps do you all use on your iPads? We're wanting to add specific sounds (ie Girls and Boys Blur synth) but not got the first clue how to do it.
I got Korg Gadget a few months back. Good fun app & can make a decent song in it, but not sure if it would be my choice live. I made this in it... https://soundcloud.com/xgsjx/opening-bass Moog Animoog however, is a fantastic bit of kit. But I'm not sure if you'd get as great a sound with a hardware controller as you do with the touchscreen. Another one under that category is Akai iMPC, but they do a controller for that called Fly. Alchemy is another good synth. THere's many good ones from Korg, Arturia & several others, but I've not tried them.
Farts are universally hilarious... apart from the cats
I can totally agree with that. Last night one of my cats was laying beside me & let out a silent violent. There was only me & the 2 cats in the room & the other left, closely followed by me.

2x12 is what I'd go with too, though I never struggled to get a good sound & be heard with a good 2x10. If you want height, you could go for 2 2x10/2x12s.
They can be put together to make keyboards as long as you want, as they go edge to edge.
Now that's clever! Where do you get them in the UK?
I have one of these - works pretty well http://miselu.com/c-24/
That has to be the coooolest iPad keyboard I've ever seen! If they make an 88 (or 73) key one it'll be on my "to buy" list.

Songs you discovered you can actually play!
xgsjx replied to Roger2611's topic in General Discussion
I can play "Hit Me...", but I'm about 5 BPM too slow. I've tried, but it's gonna take me a good bit more practice to get there. I found out that I can play Nutbush City Limits last week. Listened to the Jo & Beth version, picked up my bass & played along. I started singing along too, but both my cats started clawing at me. -

Akai make a keyboard controller for the iPad. Slide your iPad into it & use the 1/4 jacks on the unit for output. Plays whatever synths you have on your iPad.

Is the MAG300 a combo? Are you looking for another combo or are you after a head & cab?
-
No more nails? I'd go with heavy duty Velcro.

I liked the bassline. I don't like the bass sound. Needs the mids rolled back a bit.
-
I think you'll only need to mic it to get the mid & top across the audience. Should have no probs with the lows. Your next project could be building a really small cab (like a 1x8") and wire a crossover so that it just gets mids & highs. You'll have one cool looking stack.

I'd happily jam with someone who was a novice to a genre that I was comfortable in. The novice has the ability to learn & with jazz, influences from other genres is a good thing.

Hook on the pedal so if you want to use a fine loop carpet on the board, you can.

Compressors with bass, is it really that necessary?
xgsjx replied to RustInPeace90's topic in Effects
Only you can say if you need a compressor. I don't use one. I doubt anyone in the pub would know if there was a compressor on unless used heavily. Even when I was using a lot of fx, there wasn't a compressor on my board. If you're struggling with the EA & DG strings, then adjust the string & pickup height or take it to someone who knows what they're doing. If you find the song with the pick is louder on the bass than the songs with fingers, there's a small dial on your bass that is sometimes labelled "Vol". In the studio is a different matter. -
Hi everybody! ...But the only info i can find about 'adaptive volume' on google talks about cars and the stereo getting louder as you go faster, and its probably not that!
That is one of the most irritating things ever invented! I'm just glad they made it so it can be disabled. Edited to say, it actually works the other way around. You set the volume regardless of speed, but then when you slow down, it turns down. I think the inventor of that feature deserves to go here... http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2012/04/05/how-long-could-you-last-in-the-worlds-quietest-room-the-record-is-only-45-minutes/ Sorry for going OT.

You have no control over what has or hasn't happened to the courier or what actions he takes when "doing his job". You did the correct thing by asking how to raise a complaint about what had happened and making the complaint. Had I gotten no answer, I'd have raised it further too, just like people do at where I work. The complaint was just, as the outcome could very easily have been different & there's nothing to say that the courier wouldn't have thought twice about doing it regularly. The only person who can be blamed for the courier getting action taken against them is the same person who forged your signature. With this being a forum, there will be people who don't agree with you & try turn the blame on the victim. That's just the way of some people.
And BTW I expect that somewhere in PFs T&Cs a driver signing for a package is NOT considered fraud.
If he signs with "His" own name, then it wouldn't be fraud. But to sign as the receiver is another matter as he's pretending to be someone he isn't. If I know I have a delivery and not going to be in, I contact the company or leave a note to say where the item can be left.
-
I think this is a harsh judgement for someone doing a fairly menial job. Surely fraud is where someone has gained financially. The person who has gained is the OP who has got his goods, albeit in an unconventional manner. No one on this forum likes the idea of basses of all things being left unattended and at the mercy of the elements, but I think things need to be put into perspective, the bass was not damaged, not stolen and delivered on-time. All the bad things we talk about did not happen. Maybe the driver is damned if he does, damned if he doesn't and It's a pity this was not an opportunity for education and training.
It might sound like a bit of a harsh judgement, but then his employer will have told him the rules. If they hadn't, then he possibly has a legal case. Fraud isn't always about financial gain. In this case it may have been about gaining personal time, but he should have taken this up with his employer. Maybe the deliverer had some issue such as struggling with the amount of drops he had, but then he should take these thing up with the company. I was a delivery driver doing multi drop many moons ago. If there was too many for me to get through, then I'd raise it with my manager. I know how hard a job it can be, but if you can't handle that kind of job, do something else. I do think terminating his contract is a bit hard. I had an issue with a delivery driver tearing open an 8kg box of chocolate that I ordered for making a wedding cake & helping himself to a few hands full of callets. I don't know or care what happened to the chap. But I did complain on the company's Facebook page with photographs. Had the supplier not been so good, then there would have been no wedding cake on time.
