  1. That’s nice! I had one of Tom’s basses a few years ago, they’re excellent instruments.
  2. Three months old, in perfect condition. Complete with the box and everything that came with it. Selling because I needed more ins and outs. £75 including postage.
  3. I did lots of gigs with it's smaller cousin the PJB Double 4. It was absolutely fine. That was jazz and solo bass stuff, some ambient ensemble stuff too, that does get a bit loud at times. They're very fussy with placement, ideally they need to be in a corner, or by a wall, so they have something to bounce off.
  4. Brian Eno and Robert Fripp in Paris in 1975.
  5. USPS will become Parcelforce once it reaches the UK. They add £25 clearance charge on top of whatever you end up paying in import duty.
  6. It's about 25% tax/duty on the total price, that includes the cost of shipping. So instrument+shipping costs+25% = the total you'll pay. Plus possibly a fee from Royal mail or Parcelforce if you use USPS to ship it.
  7. I've had the privilege to play this a couple of times, it's even nice in real life. An absolutely superb instrument.
  8. Price includes postage. Really great volume pedal, very smooth action and built like a tank.
  9. There are lots of variables with this, also who do you compare yourself to? I did a 3 year music degree course, I think there were 12 bassists in total in my year. I wasn’t the worst of them, but I most definitely wasn’t near the best of that 12. The difference between the top and the bottom was scary. We all had different abilities, and strengths and weaknesses. So I may not have been as technically good as some, but my sight-reading or harmony knowledge may have been better. I ended up with a 1st, but that was thanks to one particular module that I excelled in, which actually wasn’t actually bass playing, though it was a solo bass thing. End of the day, if you enjoy what you do, and you’re not being let down by your ability that’s all really matters.
  10. Paypal do one, it does cost you though.
  11. Lots of venues ask nowadays. It's a good idea for a band to get it anyway. I'm in the MU and get it through my membership. Maybe contact your broker?
  12. I think it's more down to playing technique than anything else, not really something a pedal can do.
  13. I know, (you've slightly misquoted me there ) if asked not to film and you cary on then you can't complain if you're asked to leave. I was at the Coliseum theatre in London in December, there was a couple who despite being asked 3 times not to film carried on, in the end they were escorted out. They were sat toward the front too, so I guess their tickets were easily over £60 each.
  14. They already ban people from filming and taking photos at the theatre and classical concerts, though they don't confiscate the phones. I'd personally be very reluctant to hand my phone over to someone, though it appears that they don't confiscate them. I'm of the opinion that if they don't want you to film then they ask, if you carry on then you accept that you may be asked to leave the venue, which is what happens at theatres and classical concerts.
  15. I don't see how they can confiscate someone's phone? It's quite a responsibility having thousands of pounds worth of people's property. It only needs a few people to complain that their phone no longer works or is damaged.
  16. I don’t think it’s airbrushing history, more being aware that there are things that happened, and words that were used in the past that just simply aren’t acceptable now, and probably shouldn’t have been acceptable in the past. Why on earth would you feel cheated about the n word? Thank god it isn’t used anymore or included in the film.
  17. I can’t believe this is still available. I really believed it would have been snapped up almost straight away.
  18. If you’re unsure then change it. What do they currently sing? I’m personally of the opinion that there’s no such thing as ‘political correctness’. What there is is respect and good manners, and not saying something that may upset someone else. Just the way I personally was brought up.
  19. It was London, he probably went by tube, which is how must people seem to get about down there. Including musicians.
  20. I saw Anthony Jackson do a masterclass with Mike Stern at my old university. He was playing through one of the university Ashdown combos, and sounded amazing.
  21. I played on a ship for a summer about 8 years ago. You were allowed to drink, in fact you got a discount. I don't drink anyway, the free coffee was enough for me.
