1. It's the way he plays, it's his fingers, hands arms etc, possibly even the way he stands. There's so much more to sounding like someone than using the same guitar, strings, amp etc. Have you though of advertising on a guitar forum or in one of the many Chuck Berry Facebook groups?
 2. The older black model, still in excellent condition and works fine. Complete with the breakout cable, USB cable, the original Apogee carry case, and there's a little case that I bought for when I'm travelling. It's been a part of my live setup for the last year or so, and does have velcro on the base which can be removed, it's little rubber feet are still attached. All in all, a very nice little interface for use with a Mac.
 3.
I was going to post a thread about this the other day, but didn't get around to it. I'm considering getting a ramp made for one of mine, but didn't know where to go and don't really know if there any issues around marking the finish if it is removed. I don't really want to damage the bass for the sake of a £20 ramp.
Just use double sided sticky tape. Weaken the adhesive a bit first by patting it with your hand, Use a hairdryer to soften the adhesive before removing the ramp if you take it off,
 4. I had one made by the guy who does them for ACG basses, I can't remember his name now unfortunately. It cost about £20.
 5. He was amazing on several levels. His groove playing, if groove is your thing was second to none. For me it was his melodic stuff that I liked.
 6. Someone posted this on Facebook earlier. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWMf9iqABXw
 7. Can't help thinking it would have been better with Tony Levin on bass.
 8. Personally I would never trust any courier to ship a guitar, especially a rare vintage one. I've been all over the country picking instruments up, had some lovely days out, and met some nice people along the way.
 9. My brother had this problem last week. He lives in Birmingham, about 5 miles from a Parcelforce depot, yet his parcel which was coming from Lancashire, was being delivered from Coventry. In the end they lost the parcel, they admitted it, and the sender is having to make a claim.
 10. Re the comments
Im seriously considering getting it but would be interested to see if anyone at all has ever needed it, especially in a pub gig where the pubs PLI should cover, but lets not discuss that here!!!!
That's their insurance though, I'd feel a bit aggrieved if someone was forced to claim off my insurance, resulting in higher premiums for an accident that was caused not by me or my employees, but by a band and their negligence or faulty gear.
I've never needed my house insurance but I'm still going to buy it.
This! It's peace of mind. I get it and equipment insurance along with my MU membership.
 11.
But just because it's there doesn't mean you should fiddle with it constantly. Is it a matter of self restraint? A matter of knowing your equipment? Or a matter of faffing about endlessly and never willing to be happy with what you have?
That's the problem though, too many people don't really understand their equipment, hence the constant trading and selling.
 12. I think nowadays there's actually too much scope for tonal adjustment. Modern basses have active preamps with amazing EQ possibilities, amps too. You see people fiddling with the controls on their bass, then going up to the amp and making adjustments, then it's the bass again. You should just start with a bass that you like to play, and an amp that suits your needs. This is why I think people change their gear so much. Just my opinion of course.
 13.
it is 2017, I thought we were past using women as sex objects. So why are they wearing undies dancing sexy? aren't there better roles for women in rock apart from looking sexy and dancing like a stripper? Like maybe women musicians and singers? Do feminists think it ok for a band to have sexy female dancers? what year do YOU live in? are we back to Benny Hill dancers days?
This was an 80s tribute thing. Unfortunately we're still very a long way off women being judged by their abilities and talent, rather than on the way they look or dress. You only need look at comments made about TV presenters. Both Mary Beard and Clare Balding have had comments made about their appearance. The dancers here were given the costumes to wear at the event, they shouldn't have to put up with lewd remarks and whistling.
 14.
Frankly, a very poor choice of costume by the management. Ra-ra skirts would have been far more period correct and would have afforded the unfortunate terpsichoreans a quantum of modesty. Might also have helped suppress the unrestrained, beastly urges exhibited by those sections of the audience accustomed to greet unclothed female flesh with wild roarings and hootings. And don't get me started on those lumpy, beige high-heels-but-not-quite-stilettos. Utterly de trop.
I wasn't too impressed by the pink t-shirts and white trousers the male members were wearing .
 15. I just leave the amp's EQ flat, and erm.......the bass's EQ flat . I just play differently if I want the sound different, nearer the bridge or the neck etc. Anthony Jackson doesn't even have a volume control on his bass.
 16.
those dancers could've worn long skirts or pants if they didn't want people ogling them, seriously. they show their ass cheeks and dance sexy, how could they possibly complain. If you're gonna show me, I'm gonna look. If you don't want me looking, don't show me. all dancers now dance like strippers.
I just had to check what year we were in. Are you for real? The dancer were wearing costumes. Looking is one thing, shouting lewd comments and whistling is something totally different. It's called respect, having respect for another persons feelings, not making them feel uncomfortable.
 17.
What does one expect from an alcohol fuelled audience?
The alcohol is just an excuse I think. I don't drink, never have. I know people who do, and I know they would never behave in such a manner.
 18.
It's mostly down to taste and or equipment. The tapes recorded onto were not always consistent with speed. Same with records. YouTube has a lot of examples of tracks where people have corrected the pitch on them.
This is something Steve Reich took advantage of in his tape phasing compositions. It's gonna rain being one example.
 19.
This might not be politically correct, but if the female is wearing revealing, provocative outfits, isn't this the response they hope for? I doubt that can-can dancers in years past were expecting mere polite applause.
No. In my opinion there's no such thing as political correctness, there's not saying and doing things that may cause offence to people. Maybe they were wearing the costumes as authenticity? I don't remember the 80s, but I've seen reruns of too of the pops with the dancers.
 20.
Phil Jones Cub / Double Four?
These are fabulous, far more than just practice amps too.
How inconsiderate of them....

 21.
Concert A at 417Hz is almost exactly a semitone flat, which puts it (and you) into Nirvana territory IIRC. Might explain why it sounds a bit dark.
It's one of the solfeggio frequencies. Just something that interested me.
 22. Last time I went away to a holiday let the neighbours came knocking on the door at 4am. Luckily I was still up playing my trumpet.
