  1. Can you not record it in OBS, then transfer the video plus sound into Ableton? I know if you import a video and its soundtrack into Logic Pro, it automatically separates the two parts. I haven’t a lot of experience of using Ableton to record, I’ve only ever used it in a live situation.
  2. The cargo hold bit would be for a few hours. I believe the cargo hold of a modern jet aircraft is pressurised and air conditioned, just like the passenger cabin to minimise internal stress.
  3. Aren’t they usually too hot in the summer, and freezing cold in the winter?
  4. Yes, they take photos of it being handed over.
  5. One of the benefits of playing a 6 string bass is I can play pretty much any chart from one position. A low E all the way up to an A that would otherwise be at the 14th fret of the G string.
  6. There’s a band I occasionally play for, the youngest is mid-70s and the oldest is mid-80s. They moan a bit about their various ailments, and the sax player has to keep running off for a wee, other than that they’re quite good fun.
  7. Q. What’s a bass guitar? A. It’s the instrument played by the coolest member of a band.
  8. This is very true. As I said earlier, if I was having to learn lines quickly for a gig, I’d be starting with the chords and not a tabbed part. At uni we had to learn a Cream song for a weekly live performance workshop. The part was taken from a live recording, I don’t think there was a single riff that was repeated note for note. It always struck me as being a bit daft having to learn it note perfectly, it would have made more sense - and have fitted the style of the song better - to have been allowed to use it as a springboard for our own lines.
  9. Laurence Fox. Politics aside, someone posted a video of him ‘performing’ on a TV show. I felt desperately sorry for the two musicians playing with him. I love watching artists like Michael Stipe or Thom Yorke, two of my favourite performers. As much as I love Steven Wilson’s music, he’s a very quiet lead person, he doesn’t have a great stage presence.
  10. It’s only recently that I discovered people who are dyslexic can also have problems with reading music. A lot of people are dyslexic to some degree or an other without knowing it. Which might explain why some people struggle with learning to read music.
  11. If I had to learn a bass line for a gig, and I had to do it quickly, the first thing I would do is find out what the chords are. The bass line will pretty much come from that. I’d use them along with a recording of the song, You’d still need to do sit down with a recording with the Tablature, due to the lack of rhythmic information. I can see its use though if players are starting out and want to get playing.
  12. This basically. They're sometimes written by people just starting out. Often it’s a case though that the person that’s written it out plays it wrong - or simply differently. I find TAB confusing. The few times that I’ve used it to write something out for someone, I’ve got into a mess with it, mainly because I’ve been wanting to put more detail in the notation that it’s possible to put, and it still be legible.
  13. 14. I see someone has posted this on Facebook marketplace as a warning. Some other poor person scammed by him.
  15. Just a couple of months old. Barely used, I find them too small for my ears. They sound fabulous. In like new condition, with box, adapter, and carry pouch.
  16. Neunaber Immerse Reverberator Mk II - Reverb pedal. Used for just an hour at home. Complete with box. I love reverb, this just isn’t doing it for me though. Price includes next day, fully insured postage. From the Neunaber website: Serving as an incredible ambient and creative tool, the MkII builds upon the foundations of the original unit. Featuring a number of thoughtful updates, the Neunaber Immerse MkII reverb pedal not only sounds superior, but is also more user-friendly than ever before. A Raft of Reverbs The Neunaber Immerse MkII is certainly not a one-trick pony when it comes to options. Boasting 8 different reverb types, including a blissful Shimmer verb and a Sustain mode, the Immerse MkII also sports more standard Spring and Plate reverb sounds to satisfy the traditionalists. However, Neunaber's flagship W3T reverb mode has been refined too, delivering a smoother and more three-dimensional sound. Now with adjustable pre-delay, it enhances what you play without covering it. A new feature on the Immerse MkII, the pedal's Mix control now allows you to go to 100% wet. This means that you can enjoy a huge, engulfing ambient reverb sound that'll fill a venue or a track with unbridled echo! Modern Features Like their entire range, Neunaber's Immerse MkII is aimed particularly at contemporary and experimental guitar players. This means that apart from its class-leading sounds, the unit can also be seamlessly integrated into your rig. Boasting an analogue dry-through signal path for low noise and zero latency, the Immerse MkII also sports a high-quality buffer to ensure that your signal remains strong and clear. Stereo outputs also let you take full advantage of the incredible reverbs offered by the unit, so that you can achieve an ultra-wide wall of sound when using two amplifiers. Modes: W3T (Wet version 3) — exclusive to the Mk II, our new flagship reverb is smoother and more three-dimensional sounding than ever before. Now with adjustable pre-delay, it enhances what you play without covering it. Plate – Bright and diffuse like a studio plate reverb. Hall – The lush, open sound of a concert hall, now with adjustable modulation depth for achieving deep modulated tones. Spring – The distinctive twerp of a tube-driven spring reverb. Now with adjustable modulation speed, it can achieve a vibrato-spring sound. Sustain – A new algorithm built on the W3T reverb. This magical, versatile effect can be configured as a sustainer or infinite reverb. Echo – Combining the W3T reverb with stereo echo. Detune – Adds a detuned double of the dry signal with reverb, now with true blend control between detune and detuned reverb. Shimmer – Reminiscent of a synth pad that follows what your instrument plays, this effect combines the best qualities of our previous shimmers. Controls: Effect Select Mix — now goes 100% wet Reverb Depth Tone / Echo Time / Hold Time (depending on effect) Pre-Delay / Modulation / Blend (depending on effect) Key Features: High-quality buffered bypass, perfect for placing at the end of the signal chain External Trails switch External Kill Dry switch for parallel effect loops Inputs/outputs can be used mono or stereo Analog dry signal for low noise and zero latency Increased headroom Small, pedalboard-friendly footprint Requires standard 9V pedal power supply (not included) Designed and manufactured in California USA Specifications Electrical: Input Level: Instrument / consumer line level Input Impedance: > 1 MΩ Gain: Unity Frequency Response: 20 Hz—20 kHz Total Harmonic Distortion: < 0.005% Signal-to-Noise Ratio: > 107 dBA Power: Input : 9-12 V DC, 80 mA Connector: Center-Negative, 5.5 mm OD x 2.1 mm ID Physical: Dimensions: 2.9” x 4.6” x 2.0” / 73 mm x 117 mm x 51 mm Weight: 8.84 oz / 251 g
  17. Darkglass Electronics Alpha Omega Ultra V2. Bass Preamp - Aux In. Complete with box etc. Bought brand new a couple of months ago. Used very sparingly at home only, so in like new condition. I just bought a Darkglass Harmonic Boost pedal, which has all the EQ possibilities I need, I’ll replace this with the non-Ultra model. Price includes next day, fully insured postage. Details from the Darkglass website: As technology progresses, more and more devices are developed and placed on the market, all stretching the envelope of what’s possible. Our main goal at Darkglass Electronics is to push the boundaries of what musicians are able to achieve and to empower a musician’s creativity. With our latest creation, we are taking a step into the future and is the beginning of a new era. The Alpha•Omega Ultra is the most versatile bass pre-amplifier we’ve ever designed. With its two distinct distortion circuits (Alpha and Omega), extremely high dynamic range, six-band active graphic EQ, dedicated headphone output and balanced direct output with switchable digital impulse-response cabinet emulation, all make for an incredibly complete tool for the modern bass player. The frequency response from a loaded speaker cabinet is a huge part of the tone of modern music production for achieving big, natural tones out of instruments, as the raw, distorted direct signal from pre-amplifiers and pedals etc. often sound fizzy and lifeless without one. Impulse Response (IR) cabinet emulation has become extremely popular in studio and live production in recent times, to uncompromisingly replicate the benefits of real speakers (sonic-size and presence of a full-rig), without any of the drawbacks: having an acoustically treated room (or very unhappy neighbours due to the volume), carrying bulky cabinets and/or setting up expensive microphones. As more and more musicians go direct to the board, the need and benefits of incorporating studio-grade cabinet emulation into our top-of-the-line creations was evident. Now you can have an uncompromising, dead simple and ready-to-mix sound with your Alpha•Omega Ultra everywhere you go! With the Darkglass Alpha•Omega pedal already achieving renowned success in 2017, the Ultra version has been designed to be exponentially more versatile with these ground-breaking features. The Alpha•Omega Ultra’s Virtual Cabinet functionality allows you to get a consistent studio-grade setup by incorporating an incredibly accurate representation of your favourite cabinet’s character. And since they exist in the digital domain, they can be changed in a matter of seconds via a USB port with the Darkglass Suite. Available for both PC and Mac, the Darkglass Suite is a free, easy-to-use platform for experimenting with your favourite cabinet configurations. This feature is fully switchable on the Direct Output and always-on for the headphone output, which gives you the chance to practice silently with an indescribably realistic, full-rig sound. Features • Dual distortion engines (Alpha & Omega) • Bite and Growl frequency emphasis switches • Clean and Distortion type Blend controls • Separate Bypass and Distortion foot-switches - allows use of Distortion and EQ independently • Six-band active Graphic EQ • ± 20dB master volume control • IR (impulse response) cabinet simulation • Load different Virtual Cabinets (one at a time) • Connect to your PC/Mac via Micro-USB • Free ‘Darkglass Suite’ software • 3.5mm headphone output with cabinet simulation •Balanced XLR output with switchable IR cabinet simulation •3.5 mm Aux in and Headphone connections – allows jamming with backing tracks - Aux Version only • Switchable ground lift • Input impedance: 1M Ohm • Output impedance: 1k Ohm • Powered by optional 9V PSU - (9V DC, centre -, 2.1mm, ~110mA current draw)
  18. I’m guessing the fault lies in the thing that pixelates the typing.
