1. Gather a few bassists together and take it in turns to play the same bass. Leave all the controls the same, don't touch anything. Then come back to this thread 😁 I've done this with my bass at uni, and played other guys basses.
2.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msORx8g0Hdg
I started a thread about this a few days ago. It's out in July. Who's bothered about aesthetics ? It's a tuner.
3. It's carbon fibre all the way as far as I'm concerned, much betterer than that nasty old fashioned wood stuff
4. I shared this on Facebook a couple of months ago, really interesting - http://www.radio-astronomy.net
5. This is interesting http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art29542.asp
6. Black holes are the bassists of the universe, 57 octaves lower than a middle C - http://science1.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2003/09sep_blackholesounds/
7.
And there was me thinking it was the new mobile phone handset from RIM.....
That's what I thought 😁
8.
Here you go... http://www.gak.co.uk...ar-tuner/117777
Yeah, I don't think it's actually in stock though, just available to pre-order.
9. In fact I don't think they are out yet, it says "available to order", doesn't say they're in stock.
10.
Looks really good. Just ordered one from Gak for £35, couldn't resist!
Didn't realise they were out yet ! Cool
11. I like the look of this - http://www.tcelectronic.com/polytune-clip/?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=TCE+MI+NEWS+PolyTune+Clip&utm_content=TCE+MI+NEWS+PolyTune+Clip+CID_aa83de10646edde5fbd05acb27cb58ea&utm_source=Campaign%20Monitor&utm_term=PolyTune%20Clip Apparently it'll be about £39.
12.
Is the list still the same?
Yep 😁
13. There's a Facebook page for theatre deps, have you tried on there too ?
14. This is all done with a single Ditto X2. https://soundcloud.c...015-live-improv I don't see an occasion when you'd need more than a single 5 minute long loop. What I like about the Ditto is its simplicity.
15. http://www.ovnilab.com/reviews/feadual.shtml
16. I'm without doubt a huge fan of the cello, i'd love to have learned to play. Anyway, this is a new album by one of my tutors at university, there's some truly beautiful playing on it. It also features ebowed guitar on some tracks. Check it out http://www.audreyriley.com
17. What's a leatherman ? Band uniform ?
18.
I like them very haunting.
Thank you
19.
Do you use active or passive basses with it - and does it make a difference?
It has a John East pre fitted, but I don't always have it switched on. It doesn't seem to make any difference.
20.
I think you have got the sense of space and the atmosphere bang on. Excellent. I recently bought an E-Bow and just getting used to the possibilities. A (very) short test piece I did here: Using Logic — great software — on a RIM Marseer 5 fretless.
Very nice dude !
21. I did my first gig with mine yesterday. Just a jazz gig, but in a rather strange shaped and very much larger than expected room. It was a cobble floored courtyard, with a very high glass atrium roof. Really nice atmosphere. I took a spare cable just in case I needed to DI into the PA, but it wasn't needed, the Double Four coped admirably. The sound was rich and deep, not at all what you'd expect from such a tiny little box. We were playing with 2 other bands, the bassist from the band that followed us asked if he could play through it, giving me the perfect opportunity to hear it myself. I have to say I was impressed.
22.
I have an E-Bow - works great on guitar, pants on bass!
It's just a question of practicing with it. I use one all the time.
23. Hall of fame, that's what I use. If you check out the recent live improv things on my Soundcloud page you can hear it. The Bluesky is amazing though, but very expensive.
24. I have a Dunlop volume X, it's well made, and works great. It doesn't seem to affect my sound at all.
