1.
I think you have got the sense of space and the atmosphere bang on. Excellent. I recently bought an E-Bow and just getting used to the possibilities. A (very) short test piece I did here: Using Logic — great software — on a RIM Marseer 5 fretless.
Very nice dude !
 2. I did my first gig with mine yesterday. Just a jazz gig, but in a rather strange shaped and very much larger than expected room. It was a cobble floored courtyard, with a very high glass atrium roof. Really nice atmosphere. I took a spare cable just in case I needed to DI into the PA, but it wasn't needed, the Double Four coped admirably. The sound was rich and deep, not at all what you'd expect from such a tiny little box. We were playing with 2 other bands, the bassist from the band that followed us asked if he could play through it, giving me the perfect opportunity to hear it myself. I have to say I was impressed.
 3.
I have an E-Bow - works great on guitar, pants on bass!
It's just a question of practicing with it. I use one all the time.
 4. Hall of fame, that's what I use. If you check out the recent live improv things on my Soundcloud page you can hear it. The Bluesky is amazing though, but very expensive.
 5. I have a Dunlop volume X, it's well made, and works great. It doesn't seem to affect my sound at all.
 6. There's also Facebook. Someone PM'ed me a list of Facebook pages a few weeks ago, I'd don't have it anymore unfortunately.
 7.
Just to illustrate that the US Immigration Authorities are not the only ones who seem intransigent , I was talking to Lee Sklar earlier this year (as you do) after the Judith Owen Concert and asked him where the other member of "The Section" Waddy Wachtel was? He replied that despite having all the same paperwork as the other visiting US musicians to play on tour with Judith , he was stopped at Heathrow and turned back to the US. Not sure if he ever made it back to the UK
Someone told me that Michael Manring isn't able to play over here.
 8.
Really like both the pieces. Something of the Klaus Schultze about them.
Thanks There's some new ideas I recorded earlier today here - https://soundcloud.com/an-ending-ascend/06062015a
 9.
Is this a B3K or a Vintage Microtubes???
I'm guessing it's a B3K 😁
 10. I've always like Scot LaFaro's playing in jazz. I did a lot of transcribing of his playing last year. Check out the Live at the Village Vanguard album.
 11. They've also just bought out some new models, I had a little book with details of all the new things included with my Double Four. There's a model called the Suitcase Compact. This is the new version of the Suitcase, it's smaller than the old model, and gives 300 watts into 8 ohms, and 500 watts into 4 ohms. There's a matching extension cab to go with it. Looks perfect for larger gigs.
 12. I got myself a Double Four from Thomann. I have to say, I am so happy with it. It's totally silent too, no unwanted noises that others have complained about.
 13. Maybe find out if there's any evidence of bassists disappearing over there. Could be a serial killer specialising in disappearing bass players, he's exhausted the supply in his area and now has a cunning plan to import them. Does he know where the uk is ? Only I'm not sure that Americans are known for their intimate knowledge of geography 😁
 14.
Five weeks? Blimey, we need a revolution. If you don't have an infection, try Boots dual action ear drops. You should check with the pharmacist first. Ear syringing can knock you stupid, had it a few times and it's a lot easier if the wax is softened. Last time I used the boots stuff, it cleared itself. It has hydrogen peroxide (1%) and is very effective.
That's great stuff, it fizzes the wax out.
 15. Five weeks !!! Maybe get some medical grade olive oil and try that. You don't need to see a doctor for an ear syringe, that's usually the practice nurse.
 16.
I found the X2's additional button an improvement over the single-button er, X1. Now what I'd really like to see is is a "fade-out" option for the looped signal, or preferably an integral loop volume pedal.
Yes, that would be useful. I started off by bending down to turn the volume knob down to fade out. Now I use a 2nd volume pedal after the Ditto.
 17. Pay by PayPal you should be fine. They are quite expensive for the seller though, they charge exchange fees and stuff.
 18.
Glad you're having fun with it . I got outbid on the ehx. I will get the dittox2 when I have funds;)
Unless you're gonna use the reverse/half speed effects, which to be honest are a bit gimmicky and something you'd maybe hardly ever use, I'd go for the normal ditto which for half the price.
 19. Some people really believe this sort of thing, some people believe that god's son was born in a stable, was crucified and came back to life. Takes all sorts to make a world, as my nan says.
 20.
I don't think the grammar is that bad. I have two friends that write worse than that.
Have you seen some of the posts on here too ! 😁
 21.
Just propaganda from our wonderful new Government. They've cut HMRC back to the bone, closed the customer friendly offices where you could go in and discuss your tax for telephone contact centres that take ages to get through to. And we all know where the biggest tax dodgers are and it isn't selling on eBay. I used to work with HMRC back in the day and they had a whole department called HINW which was "High Income Net Worth" which was where they recovered loads of Tax by targeting individuals who earned lots.
I had to phone them last week to discuss something, it took 40 minutes before someone answered. Though they were extremely helpful when I did get to speak to someone. In fact with regard to the OP, I read in the Guardian on Saturday, that HMRC staff have been told to waive the £100 fine for late submission of a tax return, if someone appeals. Mainly because of the time it takes to deal with them. So do they have the resources to investigate people's selling habits on eBay ?
