  1. That's only because he’s not a member on here.
  2. Very little use, probably just an hour. Previously fitted to my 34-inch scale 6 string W&T bass, which has 3-a-side tuners.

  4. There was a photo of his Hofner bass in Bass player magazine a few years ago, with the set list for one of their gigs taped to it. He had a Wal briefly, I remember reading him saying that it was like carrying a wardrobe around on stage.
  5. I’ve always refused to accept PayPal for items I’m selling on Facebook. It’s cash on collection or bank transfer on collection only. I was almost scammed by someone on Facebook marketplace a few years ago, when I was selling an expensive pair of studio monitors. PayPal protects the buyer, it’s also open to misuse.
  6. Pedal power supply with daisy chain cable.
  7. It’s been OK until now, the rules have recently changed though. From 1st January everything coming over is subject to more checks. There were queues thirty kilometres long on the approach to the channel ports yesterday. I’m guessing this will impact most imports. Brexit, the gift that keeps on giving.
  8. Facebook marketplace seems to be totally uncontrolled. I think the only way I’d buy anything off there unless I was collecting it. I’m very wary about selling stuff on there too, I’ve always insisted on cash on collection.
  9. I’ve used various bags over the years. Here’s a list of some I have experience of, and my thoughts: Mono Vertigo and M80 Very good, though quite expensive. The M80 has more storage than the Vertigo - whether that’s good is up to you. I’d personally rather carry two bags than stuff the everything into the gig bag. I did find the neck holder to be too narrow for wider necked instruments, I play 6 string basses - the neck sits on, rather than in the holder, which is a fixed width moulded affair. Mono also do a much cheaper Bass Sleeve. This is fine for instruments with flat headstocks, Fender etc, it’s too shallow in my opinion for instruments with tilted back headstocks. Protec Contego Heavier than the Mono, also much cheaper. These though offer great protection for your instruments. They’re a hybrid design, using stiff padding rather than soft foam. They don’t seem to have a retailer in the UK, but you can get them from Thomann. The neck brace is a better design than the Mono. It uses a Velcro strap rather than a fixed-width moulded brace. Gruv Gear Awful. A really silly idea, very uncomfortable, my shoulder was aching after walking less than 100 metres with the one I had. Fine if you’re travelling by car though I guess. They are quite long though, so ideal if you own a long instrument. Reunion Blues Aero These are really nice, I use one of the at the moment. They offer great protection for your instrument, whilst not being too heavy. The shoulder straps are easily stowed away when not in use, which is a useful feature. The neck brace is similar to that on the Protec bag, accommodating instruments with wider necks.
  10. There’s a ‘post your memes’ thread of his in the ‘off topic’ section. He’s on there quite regularly.
  11. Very nice. These are fabulous instruments. This looks like a very early model with the single truss rod.
  12. I didn’t expect to see her mentioned.
  13. A very good album to listen to is Bill Evans Sunday at the Village Vanguard, with Scott LaFaro on bass. It’s a strange recording with piano on one channel, and bass/drums on the other. I transcribed a whole load of tunes from that - piano as well as bass. It’s easy to hear the separate instruments.
  14. You’ve caused me to have to change my t-shirt after covering it in coffee, through laughing.
  15. Not hard at all I guess if the item is bought during working hours. If it’s bought outside opening hours then it’s surely a different matter? I believe a lot of their trade is online.
  16. Very nice! My favourite ever bass was a Modulus Q6. I used it all through uni. I’d like one of the Oteil Burbridge models like Steve Lawson uses.
