Chorus advice

TC Corona would be my choice, have you checked the TC website and listened to the downloadable tone prints ?
2. I had a 5 string one, and I tried a friends really old Pre-what-ever 4 string one a few times. Personally I've never gotten on with them, they've just never sounded right when I've played them. My friends bass sounds amazing when he plays it, but totally different when I do.
3.
Do I have to be invited into this voucher scheme, or do I just go on the site and write some reviews?
You need to have bought stuff from them. Just go onto 'my orders', click on the items and do a review. If you do a long review then you get more vouchers.
4.
I did not know there was a 50 euro limit per customer, just thought that was the maximum, for any submission of reviews at a time. Would be interested to clarify this , as the price, service and vouchers are what keep me going back
I don't think there is either to be honest. I've had vouchers a few times now, and after my last lot of reviews they gave me another €30 worth that I put towards my new Aguilar TH500.
5.
http://www.diago.co....werstation.html I know you've already pulled the trigger, but this Diago unit is probably the best I've used yet. Apart from the quality & functionality of their kit, Diago are a British outfit (so they're easy to reach) and they remember what 'customer service' means (so you can actually sort stuff out when it goes wrong or bits go missing).
I've got one of these, they're excellent, and a good price too.
6. These are amazing pedals. Strymon make some fantastic gear, I have a Bluesky reverb and an El Capistan delay pedal. Good luck with the sale, though I don't think you'll have any trouble selling it.
7. I sincerely hope that you get your money back. How did you pay the guy ?
8. Shouldn't this be mentioned somewhere else in here ? Incase someone knows him, maybe others have deals pending with the guy ?
9. I think there's a guy who plays Chapman stick uses a similar Bose rig. Sounds like a really nice set up.
10. What battery do you use ? My dad bought some totally useless ones recently from wilkinsons, they wouldn't even take one photo with his camera. A Duracell lasts maybe 3 months in mine, it's got a John East pre, I use it maybe 3 hours a day.
11. Why do people post photos of basses from strange angles all the time, never straight on ? Guys do it on here sometimes.
12. I was watching this last night, the overdrive pedal sounds great. http://www.youtube.c...4&v=tU55QT2TXVU
13. Phone him and say he's got the gig. Meet him and confront him maybe ?
14. I was reading about it last week, though I've not dug too deeply into it. I don't like Spotify, it may be good for people listening to it, but not for people who supply the music. They pay 0.002 something and 0.004 something a time. I ended up with 40p last year I couldn't withdraw that either, imagine all the other 40p's lying around in their bank account.
15.
Buy cheaper strings (and typically from a wider selection), worry less about muting unwanted notes, have a smaller neck on your bass, and choose from a wider selection of instruments. And four strings weigh less than the equivalent five string. Only little things, admittedly, but they are real! Five string basses are all well and good but only if you actually need that fifth string. When I owned a five string bass I found that the only time I touched the B string was to mute it. Being able to play two octaves in a single position is useful, but I didn't ever need to do that. Four strings are perfectly usable for massive swathes of music and not all of us are interested in the stuff that needs more. I get really bored of this whole "debate" to be honest. The "who needs five strings, four is enough" people are just as tedious and predictable as the "five strings are like four strings but much much better and everyone should get one" people. Fours work for some people, fives for others. Just buy what works for you and let other people do what works for them!
With regard to the strings comment. Well you're gonna pay slightly more because there's an extra string to pay for. With regard to choice, you get all the choice of a 4 string bass. My 6 is currently strung with a 105, 85, 75, 50, 30, 20 set. It may have been the case years ago that string gauges were limited, not anymore though. Muting comes with playing, it's just practice. Wider neck, well you have an extra string. Though some 5s do have narrow necks, there's an ibanez 6 with 14mm spacing and a really narrow neck.
16.
What about home contents insurance. It was lost at a social gathering and not for any business so might it all be covered? I ask because something similar happened to me with my cables bag - even had an SM58 in it. I got a payout from the insurance company within a few days - only to be presented with my cable bag by one of the other guys, at the next gig, saying 'sorry, I picked this up thinking it was mine'!!
I was going to say this. You'll need to report it to the police, they probably won't investigate, but they'll give you a reference number which you'll need.
17. This is how an EUB should look. This only has 12 strings, and is done properly.
18. My one tutors cello is about 200 years old, I remember her telling us it'd survived Napoleon and 2 world wars 😊, she still gigs it. I'd maybe get it checked by a decent luthier before you use it. Having it damaged or stolen applies to any instrument. Just be careful with it, as you would with anything else.
19. I really doubt the police would want to know to be honest. I would check CCTV though.
20. I would definitely contact the studio. They may know the guy, maybe put up posters there too, see if anyone else does. They may have CCTV outside, you may be able to see the registration number on his car.
21. I watched a film about the making of it. It was performed live at the Royal Festival hall, Oldfield states that he was so scared beforehand, that during the journey there he asked Branson to stop the car so he could get out, he felt that it was just too complex to perform live. Branson was driving a Bentley (I think), he offered the car to Oldfield as a bribe if he'd carry on and perform.
22.
Nope, I can't stand Stevie Wonder either, or pretty much any other funk or soul music to be honest.
Me neither 😊
23. A few of us have made various offers to him, all have been rejected. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/256223-he-is-getting-desperate/ It was originally a 10 string, I have no idea why he's done this to it.
24.
Well nothing, obviously. It's an opinion. I do hear lots of people on here complaining about the diminished role of the bass player, however. Do you think there might be a connection...encouraging players to go lower rather than going up the neck? I honestly think a D played half way up the neck on an E string sounds a hell of a lot juicier than a D down on the B string. Yes, you can do it on a 5 string but given the option which direction will the player go? My bet is he'll go lower. So if there's more bassists playing down there might be more weight and fundemental but it'll be harder for the ear to pick out. You'll rely on the other instruments for it and you'll be reduced supplying 'feel' and 'width' and 'bulk! rather than harmonic content.
Do you think you're maybe a frustrated guitarist ? If I'm playing conventional music, then the only time I ever use a low D or whatever, is if it was played on the record. If I'm replicating a keyboard part that has low D or Db (Chaka Khan for instance), then I use it. Personally I play a 6, and like to play way up high, playing chords etc .
