1. Weren't the Kardashians the nasty aliens in Star trek next generation ? Particularly ugly devils they were too.
2.
Like it or not, Kanye West is the biggest rock star on the planet.
I need to get out more then, I only have a very limited knowledge of him. I've heard the name and that's about all. I couldn't name a single song or anything about him.
3. Bump. Apologies for not replying to all the PM's, I've been busy with my uni work.
4. Bump, sorry for not replying to PM's, I've been busy with my uni work.
5. Didn't read the instructions to this when I bought, it has to be the most versatile pedal ever. You can download new presets for it, turning it into a whole load of the pedals. Consequently this is no longer for sale.
6. A very nice bass A common misconception with a 5 string though, it's not just the extra 5 notes, it's the fact you can play all the low notes on the E string from the 5th fret up on the B. It just makes it all so easy, you just don't have to move about so much.
7.

Yeah, made me smile too
8. I just read Steve Jenkin's (American bassist, check him out), post on Facebook, this is what he said "Hearing Kanye West talk about artistry is like listening to Mitt Romney talk about poor folks".
9.
Cash also can be risky as there are a lot of forged notes out there. I sold one of my bikes last year and the buyer paid 6k in cash. I had a rather unsettling time at the bank as their machine flagged up a couple of hundred quids worth of potentially dodgy fifty quid notes. All finally proved to be ok but the bank told me it is quite common for any large sum in cash to contain a few fakes.
I sold a bass last year, withdrew the cash from natwest. One of the 20's was a fake.
10. Depending who you bank with, transfers aren't necessarily instant, so this talk of an instant transfer all depends on who you bank with. I sold an amp on here last year. It took 48 hours for the money to arrive in my account. He banks with Santander. Faster payments can take 2 hours, though the bank is allowed to take up to 48 hours.
11. Maybe the seller wants the cash to buy something himself ?
12. Yod'd get it back from your credit card company or bank too.
13. Like new, one month old. Sounds amazing, but I made the mistake of borrowing a friend's Strymon Bluesky, and I've gone and bought my own . £120 including next day special delivery.
14.
I would say he represent a level of being a "Pro". There are other layers and levels on how we use the term. Blue
I'd guess he's pretty near the top level. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laurence_Cottle
15. You only have to look at someone like Laurence Cottle, there's no disputing that he's a pro, but he writes music for production companies/libraries, arranges for his own band and others (I think he did some arrangement work for the new Gavin Harrison album), records and teaches and is an in-demand side man.
16. A professional musician nowadays would make their living from having a portfolio of skills and employment, gigging, teaching, composing/writing, media/journalism, sessions. The above is from the musicians union.
17.
You have to be in touch with what you want to achieve as a musician/bassist. I've been told on here more than once that my assertion that we should be learning to express ourselves through music and chosen instrument is bollocks. So where does that leave us in terms of learning from a pro's experiences? Is it mostly a technical exercise for some of us?
I can't believe people think that, after all, you're playing a musical instrument, it just happens to be a bass. I'm personally not at all interested in groove or 'holding things together. For me it's all about creating music, and expression. Steve Lawson used to come on here, but I haven't seen him for ages. Janek Gwizdala used to, same thing though, I haven't seen him for ages.
18. I think some guys on here would be quite surprised just how much pros actually know with regard to gear.
19. Bump for photo and price drop

21. Not something that I've ever had, but I've read that anti-inflamatories can help, and diet can play a part in keeping it at bay.
