1. Is he quite seriously expecting someone to buy it ? It looks like something I'd make, and I have the DIY skills of a hamster.
2. An amazing musician, wish I could go
3.
Bass arrived at my house this morning :-D I willl do a NBD thread soon :-D
Good My package has now arrived in the UK, so hopefully my monitor will be waiting for me when I get back from uni tomorrow night
4. I've got or had a transcription of this that I had to do for uni. I think I may have deleted it, it's not something I personally like. I may have a hard copy somewhere, if you're interested I can try and find it and scan it ?
5. It's obviously very popular, and I guess good for the consumer. It's rubbish for artists though. I get $0.00081900 per play for some of my music. I'm not sure how they structure the payments, that's for a longer piece, I actually get more for shorter ones. Most bizarre !
6. I bought an effects pedal from a German store via Anazon, it arrived the next day. That was free shipping too.
7.
I'm in the same boat. Still in Köln and hasn't moved in five days and I'm sorry, but that's totally unacceptable to me. I paid £10 for shipping and we're now on day eight since I purchased the bass and it hasn't left Germany? Not good enough.
Have you emailed DHL ?
8. Well still no update yet regarding my shipment.
9.
Could you possibly keep me updated with your order please Ambient? So I know whether to panic or not lol.
I really shouldn't worry, I think it's that postal services, and couriers are being more vigilante since the Paris terrorist thing the other week. My monitor still hasn't moved (at least according to the tracking), since Saturday, it's still in Germany.
10.
Hmmm you got DHL and I got Parcelfarce. I ordered a week ago and it's still in Germany according to the tracking info. I'm getting concerned. An email will be sent tomorrow, although what Thomann can do about it, I do not know.
It'll be DHL in Germany, Parcelforce will deliver in the UK. Your tracking number will work with both.
11.
I agree. I've changed the title to something a little more representative.
Great The last stuff I had from them (maybe 2 weeks ago), got caught up in the Paris terror attacks thing, the package spent about 3 days sitting in customs here in the UK. I think maybe the whole of the European postal and courier delivery networks are being more vigilant, resulting in slower processing and delivery. There was something (i think), mentioned on the Parcelforce website recently.
12.
Would there likely be customs charges to pay on this item? According to the Parcelforce tracker it's STILL in Köln....hasn't moved since Thursday. Getting very anxious now, plus the Thomann website is now saying that the item is no longer part of their product range!!
No, it's coming from Germany. I sent a faulty studio monitor back to them a couple of weeks ago, and had an email last Friday to say it was being replaced and the new one was on its way. That hasn't moved from Koln either, last updated Saturday. I'm expecting it will update later today to say it's in the UK, and possibly (from my experience with ordering a lot of gear from them), it'll hopefully be delivered tomorrow. I do think the title of this thread should be changed, after all, it's mostly down to couriers and not Thomann.
13. Anyone heard of, or used these to distribute their music ? http://distrokid.com
14. I only discovered them last year, but was extremely impressed with them. I was only listening to Phaedra the other night.
15. I think this has been out for sometime ? I've seen videos of Steve Lawson and Tony Levin demonstrating one.
16. Definitely coming to at least one of these.
17. Very happy about this, despite there being no chance of me buying another 😊 Most definitely the best bass I've ever played. http://modulusgraphite.com
18. Some really nice music there I love what you do with all of those delays.
19.
Did you record the footage yourself?
Kind of, I got the cloud one from here - http://www.clipcanvas.com Two are from the Guardian newspaper website, and the other is by a guy called Lasse Hoile who's a brilliant Danish film maker/multi-media artist. He did a lot of stuff for Steven Wilson. I filmed them (apart from the clouds one), on my phone, downloaded them onto my macbook, and used iMovie to edit them. I only had short pieces, maybe 20 or 30 seconds, so I had to make them longer. Using my phone to record them gave them a nice lo-fi quality. They're going to be a part of a portfolio I'm doing for my final production project at uni.
