2. Try this, it's something I tell my students to imagine. Set your metronome to a reasonable tempo, 60 BPM or somewhere like that. Listen carefully to it clicking, and visualise a ball bouncing in time to the click. It's hitting the floor on the click, at the top of its bounce is the off beat. Concentrate on this, and really get it into your mind. Tap your foot along to it, clap along to it. Pick uo your bass. Practice playing quarter notes along to the click, getting your notes on the click. Practice playing eighth notes, again get your first note on the click, the second is at the pinnacle of the ball's bounce. Sixteenth notes you add another half way up the bounce, and half way down. Get a good teacher too.
3. Good dude, nice arrangements and production. When track 2 started I thought yes , I really like this track, quite Porcupine tree'ish, a really nice vibe.
4. Audio Technica athm50. Or save up a bit more and get a pair of Sennheiser HD650's, I just bought a pair of these, and they're extremely detailed, far more so than cheaper ones. You're gonna use them for listening to fine detail, so what's the point in buying them if you can't actually hear that detail ? Seriously, the difference between 'budget' headphones and more expensive ones is like night and day, look on it as an investment. Avoid things like Grado, they're made for listening to music, not mixing or producing it. Have a look on the Sound on sound website, there are recommendations on there.
5. Anyone use them ? I'm looking for a reasonably compact, but decent quality pedal board/bag. My effects are as follows - Dunlop volume pedal, Neunaber Wet, Strymon El Capistan, MarkBass Mini Distortion, Diago Micro power supply, and I plan to get a chorus pedal, compressor and I want an Akai Headrush E1. How big are they, and how durable ? They're not a bad price - http://www.diago.co....pedalboard.html
6.
The License, it wouldn't be legal. There is no point trying a technical means to stop a legal issue. But there is also nothing to stop you using it on your friends macbook as long as you aren't using it on yours at the same time. It is licensed to you, not your machine.
But how would they know we were both using it at the same time ? I'm not planning to do this, but I don't see how you can't, if like has been said, you can just log-in to the app store and re-download it. I'm just puzzled as to how it works.
7.
I bought something last Sunday, 4th Jan and received order confirmation on the 5th. It was shipped on the 7th and has been sitting in UK Customs since waiting Customs clearance since the 8th. Perhaps it will pitch up sometime next week if I'm lucky.
Same as mine, seems a bit odd, stuff from Europe getting stuck in customs ?
8. I like the AK47 shaped one, I shouldn't imagine that'd get through customs and excise without being opened.
9. I don't know, what's to prevent you from logging onto the app store from a friends macbook and download it to that too ?

Bumpy Reasonable offers accepted
11. I did some stuff last year using still images, that were set to some earlier music that I recorded that was midi based, but still using the effected and distorted sounds. That progressed into this, which is all just my Q6 bass, effected out of recognition,
12.
I'm putting my arts hat on now to ask you about your work - you've probably gone through this with any crits you've already had but is your work about loss and/or injustice? There's clearly a very human element regarding the subject matter and the music is devoid of the human voice (which you could take as significant by its absence... ). You'll have seen Koyaanisqatsi but have you seen Ron Fricke's 'Baraka' and 'Samsara'? Fricke has created some really amazing work!
I'm very inspired by all of that. With the images for the music, I just spent ages over the last week listening to it with my eyes closed, making notes afterwards about the images that came to mind, then searched the internet looking for film. It's something I'd like to develop more, I'd like to get involved with a film maker too.
13. Another one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBMQBfwRkOw The background noise and glitches are deliberate.
14.
Are you going to extend the piece? I think it deserves to be longer! Had a look at your signature and I can see why you like Basinski - I've only just discovered his work recently, I like 'Aurora Liminalis' the joint piece he's done with Richard Chartier (joked on my Tumblr that I might mischievously play that loud at say 3am and have my neighbours thinking they'd woken up in Hell after some apocalyptic disaster... ). You'll probably like this too, a film by Bill Morrison with music by Michael Gordon...
Hi, Thanks for watching it. The film clip is only short, but I'm planning to loop it and use all the music, the track I've used it about 8 minutes long in total. I love that track you've posted a link too, brilliant ! Yeah, I have Aurora, I've got pretty much everything of his.
15.
Surely they have a European warranty? Contact the shop you bought them from would be my advice.
Yeah, they actually have 3 years warranty from Thomann on top of the manufacturers 1 year warranty, I'm just hoping though that the UK distributor will sort it out, after all it'll be Genelec who foots the bill either way.
16. What I ordered from them last week has spent the last 3 days here in the UK in customs, why ? Germany, at least last time I looked, is in the EU.
17. I bought some new Genelec monitors in November 2014, so they're only 2 months old. One has rather annoyingly stopped working. Problem is they came from a store in Germany. I'm guessing though, that the UK distributor would still get it sorted ? I've emailed them anyway, fingers crossed.
18. Oh, thanks I think the last time I won anything was at school in a fancy dress halloween competition. I've donated them to a friend at uni
19.
Hi, I've just checked and you've won a set of 5 string nickel plated 0.045's Cheers
Oh, thanks I think the last time I won anything was at school in a fancy dress halloween competition.
20. I won too, but I should imagine it's a 4 string set that I've won ? I don't own a 4 string bass, and use flats anyway, so look for mine in the 'other items for sale' section when they arrive. But it's nice to win something.
21. Write the parts out, stick them on a music stand.
