1. I'm a music student and I've spent the last 2 years commuting from the Midlands to London 3 days a week. I use the Mono Vertigo, it's perfect for commuting, great protection and isn't too heavy.
2. The live DVD is pretty good, filmed at Matt Garrison's studio.
3. I like the way the machine heads are slightly too large for the headstock.
4. She must be as old as my Mom Looks good for her age doesn't she, or is that an old photo
5.
Use a pair of these myself - their excellent stands and this is a very good price.
They are really nice stands. I'm only selling because I bought a new desk the other day, and my monitors sit nicely on the desk.
6.
Any idea how much these would be to ship? May be looking for a set of these soon
I just measured them, they can be taken apart for shipping, and will be something like 40x90x20cm then. The weight will be about 10kg for the pair. They're at my parents house in Birmingham, postcode B72 1JQ. Feel free to get some quotes for shipping
7. Bump, because I'm being nagged about them being in the way
8. Your fingers are different lengths, the middle finger is slightly longer than your index finger, and slightly wider too with a bigger pad. Playing finger style, your fingers will always sound slightly different. It's just down to practice really, to even out the dynamics.
9. I have a Fishman Full-circle pickup fitted to my Silent bass. I just plug it direct into my Markbass combo. Would using a Fishman preamp make much difference to the sound ? It can sound a bit 'harsh' at times, but that may be the rather rubbish strings that are currently fitted to it. I'm getting some Innovations at the weekend for it.
10. I can happily report that I seem to be U2 free on both my iPhone and laptop
11.
That's because I don't think you can teach creative thinking. People either have the ability or they don't.
I disagree, creative thinking is something that can be taught, or shown. It's actually something we're born with, but forget how to do. Watch a very young child, they're full of creativity. My nephew is 3 years old, cardboard box can be anything for him, a car, a plane a spaceship. As he gets older though, it's something that he'll grow out of. Some people don't lose touch of their creativity, in fact they let it grow and develop, it's down to how they're brought up and what they're encouraged to do, the sort of household they grow up in. Everyone has the potential to be creative, they just don't know it.
12. The now thankfully departed education minister even wanted to take art and music out of the national curriculum.
13. You have to remember, one of the few industries (that's what music is), that's carried on making money during this recession is entertainment and the music business in particular.
14. Looking at some posts we need to concentrate on spelling a bit more Though saying that, where would I be without my laptop auto-correcting stuff
15. I read recently that music education improves a lot of other skills. It shouldn't be mandatory, but it should definitely be free and available to any child. 16. If you can play one major scale then you can play them all, the fingering is the same. Assuming you start on A 5th fret on the E string, move up a fret and you're playing Bb major, and so on along he string, moving up through the chromatic scale 😊
17. I had an Aguilar 4x10 briefly, it weighed an absolute ton.
18.
PM'd
Replied
19. I'm reorganising me workspace, I don't have a lot of room, and need to have it working right Part of this reorganisation is a clear out of unused gear such as this. It's a really great keyboard, ideal for carrying about, just hook it up to your laptop and you're away Pretty much like new, I only recently removed the clear plastic from the LED display. No box, but it will be well packaged. £30 including postage.

SOld.

I've had this for 2 weeks, and it's totally amazing, unfortunately I need something equally amazing but slightly smaller, I don't drive and travel everywhere by train and tube. Here are the specs - http://www.bossus.co...p?ProductId=941 The sounds it can produce are amazing, this was recorded using it - https://ambient-bass...track/after-all This is the guitar version, not the bass version. I did do a lot of research on the internet before buying, and the general consensus of opinion mainly on talkbass was that this works great for both £130 including UK delivery.
