2. I didn't realise kids had stopped playing instruments. Doesn't bode well for my future, I was planning on being a music teacher after I graduate . I have a kid across the road who plays guitar, there's another lad 3 doors along who plays drums. Walking to the train station yesterday morning, I know that I saw kids carrying violins, guitars and wind instruments going to the various schools by me.
3. What adverse publicity ? http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/entertainment/celebrities_gossip/20140914_WENN_U2_s_back_catalog_gets_sales_bump_after_surprise_album_release.html If doing something like this means that a large part of your back catalog starts reselling, then it can't be bad publicity.
4. I had an NS EUB last year. It didn't feel at all like a 'real' DB, and didn't sound like one, it was very much like a large fretless bass. I've now got a Yamaha SLB100, whack I like a lot. It's got a Fishman FC pickup fitted, and does to me at least, sound quite like an amplified DB.
5.
How would you feel if you awoke one morning to find that a video of a party political broadcast by someone you detested (BNP for example, other parties are available) had been added to your iTunes/iPod without your knowledge or consent?
You really compare a new U2 album with a party political broadcast, that's kind of a strange analogy 😊 If you don't like it just delete it. It's marketing, U2s back catalog sales have leapt, partly I'm guessing because some people have listened to the album, who otherwise wouldn't have, and have liked it and bought it. Personally I don't like U2, I don't really like anything mainstream. I would however listen to it, I was given it. I have my iTunes preference set so I wasn't given it, and can't be bothered changing them so I get it. It's music, you got it free, if you don't want it, then delete it.
6. I truly don't see what all of the fuss is about. Their last album sold about 5 million copies, how many of the people who are complaining would have bought it anyway, and are just moaning because it seems 'cool' to ? You've been given free music, stop wingeing 😊

Trade for a GT3 ?
8. You can delete it here - http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/sep/15/apple-u2-album-itunes-delete
9. I had to play it on my HND course a few years ago. I hated it, but then again I hate Bob Jovi
10.
The girl in your local Post Office is wrong about that. Saturday Special Deliveries can have sticker placed on them, yellow with the letters SG (Saturday Guarantee) in black, to ensure they are delivered or at least delivery is attempted.
I think she maybe knows what she's talking about from experience ? Yellow sticker or not, would it actually be sorted and delivered ?
11. Yamaha HS80M. Look like the old NS10.
12. Sales under £50 are free, I think
13.
If you can pack these up and confirm the weight and dimensions (and it's not much different from quoted above) then I'll take them. I have a quote for a courier collection based on the info above and I'm happy to book it. Shep
The weight is right, I'll take them apart, bundle the parts together and get an exact size
14.
No they don't - what you're saying is just wrong. I've had international parcels delivered by all manner of couriers, it's only the USPS stuff that automatically gets delivered by Parcelforce.
True
15. I posted something the other week, on a Friday. I was paying extra for special delivery just so it was both insured, tracked and signed for. The girl in the post office said not to bother paying the (considerable) extra for Saturday delivery, because it almost certainly wouldn't be delivered anyway
16.
I was just checking these out, shipping charges came to $24 for a 4str set...does anybody regularly order from them and if so what is your approximate cost for a set or two plus shipping? Given that i'd be trying a new balanced tension style set of gauges i'd ideally like to just get one set and see how I get on! (i've also been playing around with some drop tunings, so hoping that I can go with higher tension at the bottom end and compromise some playability in standard tuning, to gain a bit in drop). Any thoughts very welcome, either on Circle K or other good alternatives for the Drop stuff! Cheers, Tom
I bought 2 sets a few months ago, you need to factor in VAT/import duty, and Royal mail's rip off fee. Great strings though.
17. Use google images it shows loads of photos of steinberger basses, none like that though.
18.
I can't vouch for the other two you mentioned but I'm a music student and commute around 3 hours each time I go to college and I use a Mono M80 Vertigo. The bag provides great protection and neck support for the bass. The pocket on front isn't overly spacious but does have enough space for a few cables, some books/laptop. Worth the money I'd say.
Snap, you must've been typing at the same time as me
19. I'm a music student and I've spent the last 2 years commuting from the Midlands to London 3 days a week. I use the Mono Vertigo, it's perfect for commuting, great protection and isn't too heavy.
20. The live DVD is pretty good, filmed at Matt Garrison's studio.
21. I like the way the machine heads are slightly too large for the headstock.
22. She must be as old as my Mom Looks good for her age doesn't she, or is that an old photo
23.
Use a pair of these myself - their excellent stands and this is a very good price.
They are really nice stands. I'm only selling because I bought a new desk the other day, and my monitors sit nicely on the desk.
