1.
Bloomin' 'eck! Am I reading the price of these things right at around £230?!! Looks like a lot of nice bass for the money. Good score
WHAAAAT ! £230 ? That's a great looking bass, and for that price, spending a bit extra on a good set-up by a good luthier is well worth it.
 2. He's right though isn't he ? If someone pays by Paypal, then collects it, how does he prove that it's been delivered ?
 3. I'd recommend lessons personally. I'm in Birmingham at the moment and teach, there's one guy comes to me once a fortnight. He's made fantastic progress after only 3 lessons, he couldn't even fret notes properly at his first lesson.
 4. I wouldn't use anything bigger than a 130 for a B. I tend to use a 125. I have a set of nickel 125 to 30 fodera strings you can have if you want them, they've had very minimal usesge, you just need to get an F string from somewhere to match - I also have an 020 circle k 😊 If you want them pm me and I'll post them to you 😊
 5. What bass did you buy ?
 6. Try Circle K strings, you can choose your string tension.
 7.
That label came long after the scene was gone, I think it was applied by American listeners. It was bands who were signed to the Creation label in the early '90s. Ride, Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, Swervedriver, etc.
Still going, check out Engineers for example - http://www.kscopemusic.com/artists/engineers/

 10. There's this one that's advertised on here - http://basschat.co.uk/topic/240107-final-price-drop-fs-conklin-gt7-only-l800/page__fromsearch__1 If I was going to get a 9, and I'd want one then same spec as you, then I'd get one built by this guy - http://basschat.co.uk/topic/240107-final-price-drop-fs-conklin-gt7-only-l800/page__fromsearch__1 maybe the shapes are a bit esoteric, but the prices are good, and the craftsmanship is amazing. He's also a member on here. Ibanez do a 7 that looks pretty good, I've never played one, but I did try a 6 and was pretty impressed. http://www.ibanez.co.jp/eu/news/f_products/2013/BTB7/index.html
 11. I'd like a 7 string, but I have to 'justify' owning an instrument, I have to have a need for one. At the moment everything I want to do, I can do with my 6. The Conklin's look amazing value for money if you're after a 7 string. Personally I'd go for high F, rather than a low F#, I like the chordal and high register playing stuff.
 12. Are your strings all the same age/brand/type ? Maybe look at how you play them. Are you playing each string with the same force and dynamics, and using the same part of each plucking finger ? If you put your fingers together, your 2nd finger is longer than your index, so using 2 fingers to pluck, you will get a difference in tone because of the angles and dynamics of the fingers hitting the strings. You'll find it's just a matter of practice, i.e. practice playing scales or whatever, and try to play each note the same with both fingers. A compressor is really just to even out the dynamics of your playing, not really for the tone.

 21.
You have to leave the DJ something to do to earn half of what the band got for setting up a Maplins PA and a few lights haven't you?
22.
How long do you guys play at a wedding? Pretty standard to do 8pm to Midnight up here in Scotland, with a break for the evening buffet.
Everyone I've ever done has been maybe 2x40, sometimes 3x40 though the last set usually runs on to maybe an hour. There's usually a disco too though. We're booked for our first wedding with our new 'acoustic' line-up in 3 weeks time, we're asked to play for an hour early evening while everyone's arriving and talking etc. There's a disco on later for the main bit.
