From other threads on here recently I think you may have more luck phoning them than sending emails. Maybe a personal visit to the workshop but don't leave the bass.
Fair enough. "1000 Ladies dancing" definitely beats "messy pile of triangles". Note to self - never work in marketing :-)
Don't worry marketing would be my nightmare job too 😊. The status bass weave always reminds me of reptilian scales 😊 the modulus 1000 ladies dancing (can't actually see where that name comes from), is quite hologramatic, changing colour as you tilt it in the light. Geoff Gould the original founder of modulus is still building graphite necked instruments, though not on the scale of modulus. They're amazing looking basses, there's a link here to his website. http://www.ggould.com/home.html

I don't have that problem with mine. Maybe drop a tuner (from metering) into the effects, check see what it says about your instruments tuning, and keep it on display while you're recording.
I own 8 Modulus basses. 5 Q5's (4 pre-truss rod, one with truss-rod), one Q4 (truss-rod), one Flea 4 (no truss), and one FB5 (truss). My favorites are the pre truss-rod Modulus necks. They are sleek and fast in comparison with the chunkier truss rod equipped basses. The transition was 1998-1999, FYI. But be careful. I have had to adjust the truss rods on several basses, and I have seen and heard about at least a dozen warped necks. A huge hassle and somewhat expensive, by all accounts, if no truss rod is available. I sold one nice Q4 because of the neck, and passed on buying several others for the same reason. Also, the clear coat is prone to discoloration and clouding on the 1999 era instruments, and chipping and peeling on all years. Nevertheless, I believe that once you find a 20 year old Modulus with a dead straight neck, it is unlikely to change for the next century!.
Mine's a 1999 model, with a truss rod. The finish is immaculate, I didn't realise how old she was until someone on Talkbass explained how the serial number works (990810). I was thinking she was maybe 3 or 4 years old maximum, I was totally floored when I discovered that I'd bought a 14 year old bass. I haven't had to touch the truss rod at all, the relief is as it was set when I bought her a year ago.
A question for graphite-neck experts if it's not too off topic - why do some have a nice tidy woven look, and others have a kind of 'messy pile of triangles' look?
Status have the visible weave, and Modulus have the 'messy pile of triangles', it's called 1000 ladies dancing, I prefer it's randomness to Status's regularity .

I have a Modulus, it's simply amazing. They don't exist as a company now though, so have become a bit rare, and the ones that do come up for sale are very expensive. I have to say though, that I haven't played another make. My next bass is going to be another graphite necked instrument, I want a either another Modulus or a Zon, 6 string fretless.

100 degrees is probably my favourite, the 30tn anniversary album is a good but too, features lots of the musicians from over the 3 decades. 😊

I love the look of these, kind of the epitome of the 80's. I'm teaching a guy who plays one, they sound really amazing, very versatile instruments.
-
Last in mine is a reverb, so I reverb the delays, but I'm after big pads of sound to play over.
-
Something I've been experimenting with recently. I'd say at the end too, but experiment.

I bought my beloved Modulus from there, arrived the next day, exactly as described, actually it was like new. I also just took advantage of the 2 for 1 offer on Dunlop Super bright strings, they too arrived the next day. They even tried (unsuccessfully) to track down a C string for me (they only had 5 string sets in stock), but they did try. I like them.

I don't know it could still work for you. I'd make a point if agreeing a few things first of all, get it writing even. Have someone at the event handing out flyers and business cards for your band maybe ? I did a free gig with one of my jazz bands a couple of Christmases ago, it was really enjoyable and we picked up a few gigs from it.

I'm maybe doing some live work for someone. This is a very short excerpt of one of the songs, what effect would get that nice deep synth sound ? https://soundcloud.com/ambient-bassist/best-in-me I have Digitech synth wah, but that really doesn't get anywhere close.

I quite like Avishai Cohen - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4kc0Aby2vA Though he can play fast too when the moment suits - Love the sound he gets from the Jazz bass

2 Comfort straps.
-
Another cool thing with the comfort strap is being able to double up the strap where it connects with the strap lock. 😊
-
I found quite a few threads on talkbass about them when I was considering them. 😊
I have tried zillions of straps, including mono and comfort but I have settled on the gruvgear duostrap. It distributes the weight across both shoulders. It is relatively expensive and takes some getting used of, but I would not be without it now.
I went to a clinic a few years ago with Michael Manring, he was using 2 comfort straps (I guess 1 long 1 short), he'd got them on in a similar manner to the duo strap. Don't know if that's where Gruv gear got the idea from. 😊

There was a guy selling one the other day.
20mm? Whoa, that is super-wide! I always thought MTD 6ers (like mine) were considered to have fairly wide spacing at 18mm!
What MTD have you got ? I'd love one of the Andrew Gouche Kingston models. The Yamaha TRB6 was truly an amazing bass, I was really loathe to sell it. I had it advertised 2 or 3 times and changed my mind, the spacing was too wide though.
