1. If you pay by debit or credit card (via Paypal), then you're also covered by your bank. I got my money back from my eBay purchase that went wring through my bank. I didn't have a Paypal account at the time, so paid as a 'guest', and neither eBay or Paypal wanted to know, my bank on the other hand did a great job and refunded me within a week or so. I just had to take screenshots of the relevant eBay pages and sign a declaration.
  2.
But have you actually requested the sellers contact details from ebay?
I thought they had to have a phone number to sell ? I had a problem last year with something I'd bought, the seller wasn't responding to email, so I contacted ebay and they gave me the phone number.
  3.
I bought a Vester 5-string from a bloke in South Wales; paid him extra to send it Parcelforce, because he wanted to use myHermes and I have no faith in them at all. He sent it by myHermes anyway. Tosser.
Parcelforce don't insure musical instruments, so he may have done you a favour if you'd had a problem, assuming he insured it.
  4. If you ask Ebay they'll give you his phone number. They encourage you to contact the seller before starting any kind of dispute.
  5. I think people spend to much time messing about about with the EQ on their amps, constantly fiddling around with it. I leave mine totally flat, my MB LM3 is seemingly about as neutral sounding as an amp can be with all the tones set at 12 o'clock and the filters off. The Acme Low B1 is designed to be like a studio monitor, so it again is as neutral sounding as a cab can be, with little inherent tone. Any changes in tone are done on the bass, or by playing differently.
  6.
Drop this guy a message explaining what you want to do, he should be able to make you up a box to do it, with two inputs, two each with its own effects loop, a tuner out and a merged out (maybe with volume controls for each). note: im not associated at all with them, i just rate them highly for things like loop pedals and switch box's.
Thanks
  7. I have a few nice pedals that I've accumulated for my stick and my bass, I'm about to mount them into my pedalboard which is a Pedaltrain junior. I'll explain what I've got so it's easier for you knowledgeable folk to answer my question . Korg Pitchblack tuner Big Muff Pi Digitech Bass synth wah TC Hall of fame reverb Analogman Bi-comproser Ernie Ball volume pedal EBS Compressor When I'm using them for bass I use everything except the EBS compressor, for the Stick I run the bass pickup into the EBS compressor then into the amp, the melody side goes into the Analogman then through everything else. What I want is to have something mounted on the board that will take both side's signal into the tuner pedal, before the effects, to be able to switch between it and the effects. Any suggestions please ?
  8. Break each syncopated bar down into individual beats, then work out how they should sound. It's a good idea if you have what you're practicing, using something like Sibelius is very useful, as is working through things with a teacher who knows what he or she is talking out, this doesn't need to be a bass playing teacher.

  12.
To me the only point of these is outdoor/guerilla gigs on battery power. If you have mains available for your amp, just use a conventional power supply and plug in.
It's for busking , I've got a Diago power thing for normal use.
  13.
Or you could get the Eneloop Pedal Juice for less than 40 quid. http://www.thomann.d...pedal_juice.htm (looks like the same unit tbh, in nicer packaging maybe?)
I like that !!!!
  14. I'd never seen one, looks pretty cool, just a tad expensive. The same price will buy you 60 duracells from Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Duracell-MN1604-Procell-Battery-Alkaline/dp/B003XC9A3K/ref=sr_1_3?rps=1&ie=UTF8&qid=1402415290&sr=8-3&keywords=duracell+9v+batteries+pack+of+10

  16. Got quite excited when I saw this, the price soon quelled my excitement though . https://www.facebook.com/BassdirectUK?fref=photo Ideal for busking with my Chapman stick.
  17.
So I am sitting here reading through some of the posts on here and there always seem to be somebody complaining about something or another when there is a debate going on throwing there toys out of the pram if some one else says something that they don't agree with it is not just on basschat that this happens it is on other sites too I must admit I sit here and laugh to myself at the thought of some one getting all steamed up banging away on there keyboards in anger or complaining to mods about people like little school children when there really is nothing to complain about. So why take it so seriously it is only the internet I can understand getting upset if somebody is personally attacking you but 9 times out of 10 people just have no sense of humour and take it all to seriously. So do you guys think it is funny like I do or do you think it should be all regimented and serious would love to hear your views on this
Where's your punctuation, god, it drives me soooooooo mad when people don't punctuate properly !
  18. Just bought a great Markbass LM3 from Jose. In immaculate condition, very fast delivery. Perfect.

I've decided a Flashback x4 would be more useful, hence this sale. It's in excellent condition, includes box and instructions etc. I'm away until Sunday, so photos will be posted then, but it doesn't look any different to any other TC Flashback. £85 posted.
  21. Thanks for all your replies. I emailed Roqsolid again lat night, still haven't replied. Hotcovers replied within about 20 minutes . I'll try Jen-art covers too.
  22.
SoundCloud has always worked for me. I search within a relevant genre of music (normally for vocalists, so I add that as a search term) and then spend some time listening to what turns up. There are always a few diamonds in the rough When I find something I like, I send the person a quick message setting out what I'm looking for, with a link to my own SC page for reference. I've never yet had anyone say no! Although I've had plenty of non-replies. I think SoundCloud is a good platform for finding collaborators as it's pretty much focussed solely on the music itself, rather than fussing around with artist biographies and photo galleries, etc, so you can get straight to the point.
Soundcloud worked for me too last December. I was asked just to do some soundscape stuff for a band in Bristol, they didn't know I played bass too, I was asked to provide bass on 2 tracks.
