Would also trade for a Chapman stick .
3.
The Railboard has been available for a while now & is proving to be pretty popular with the Stick community. Best bet is to go & have a look at what people are saying about them on the Stickist forum. Not sure if there are actually any in the UK yet. Haven't been on the forum for a while as I recently sold my Grand Stick. The same as with the wooden & graphite Sticks - if you want to try one you basically have to make the leap of faith & buy one. It's not like trying a new bass or guitar where you can get a good idea about it fairly quickly.
Thanks for the info . There's no a great deal of difference price wise between a new Stick and a Railboard, I like the wooden ones, but the aluminium ones look very cool.
4. Anyone tried one ?] They look really cool. I've fancied a Stick for ages, looking on the Chapman stick website, they have a special offer on at the moment with the new Railboard stick. It's made of aluminium and looks amazing, but I do like the wooden ones.

New photo showing the string spacing at the bridge. The bridge is fully adjustable, so you can set the spacing to suit your preference.
8.
I know you're not meant to use furniture polish because it contains chemicals that can cause problems with cellulose finishes, and can make resprays difficult too apparently. I don't like to use it because of the feel it gives when you get a tiny bit on your fingers. I much prefer the proper guitar stuff myself. Jim
See your point about cellulose finishes, but most guitars are finished in poly nowadays, your Ernie Ball Musicman is. I read somewhere that Status use it on their basses before shipping. Who's to know that a bottle of guitar polish doesn't contain the same stuff as furniture polish ? Just bottled and packaged and overpriced ?
9. Damn, I thought you were going to say he's doing a clinic . Thanks for that though. He's got his own thing on talkbass.

12. Mr Sheen (or equivalent) from the supermarket, I'm guessing it's all pretty much the same, regardless of how it's packaged and advertised. It's all I use anyway.
13.
Dhl? Pricey , but big and reliable IMHO
Cool, will look into DHL, thanks
14. I mean so that I can avoid being messed about regarding my refund, I've heard that the Italian postal device isn't too reliable.
15. Following on from my broken down amp thread. The seller has agreed I can send it back, presumably I'll then get a refund. The shop I bought it from is in Italy, what's the best way to go about shipping it ?
16. It's a Markbass F500. The seller has agreed that I can send it back.
17. To be honest I don't mind paying the return postage, it's a very light amp and not too big. I'm just concerned about getting a refund on the amp itself.
18. The fault is intermittent, it was there briefly on Sunday, then again this afternoon.
19.
If you paid for it with a credit card they can also assist with refunds (item not of merchantable quality - one does not expect a new electrical item to go wrong just days after purchase).
It's 2nd hand but advertised as 'like new'. I bought some jeans from Ebay last year, they were never sent and the seller ignored my communications. I claimed off my bank having paid by debit card, they gave me my money back. This transaction was bank funded though.
20. As part of my 2nd year music business class assignment, I have to produce a business plan and carry out market research into my business idea. It's all to demonstrate employability as a part of a 'portfolio' approach to working as a professional musician. My idea is web based tuition mainly aimed at 6 string bassists, and having a website with access to transcriptions and other resources that seem to be lacking, at least in one single place. I have a load of transcriptions that I have done of work by Anthony Jackson, Jimmy Haslip, John Pattitucci and others. I also have a load of stuff that I've complied as part of my own studies, books of chords in various inversions and scales etc. If you could spare a minute or 2 to do the survey, it'd be very much appreciated. It's all totally anonymous . Thanks https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/8GGCVLR
21.
Cool as I said, I know bugger all about this stuff so just thought it might be a potential. Glad it's not though, more of a case for a refund.
I had to use google and I emailed Markbass before I bought it, I didn't know either to be honest . Hopefully it'll be a refund, I guess I'll just be out of pocket on the return postage.
22.
Markbass amps are only meant to be played in the country they're sold in/from. Maybe that's the problem. I can't say I know too much about this stuff though
I think EU voltage is the same all across.
23. I only received it last Thursday, and now it's gone wrong, very disappointing. It distorts when you play through it. I thought at first it was the battery in my bass, but I've changed that and tried a different bass too. It was bought from an Italian shop on Ebay, I've raised a dispute so I'll hopefully get my money back. I need something else now.
24. The piece is about 70 minutes long, it'd be tough to memorise that. .
25.
Surely this is why you read music? So you can count the blank bars and beats on your score until the part you need to play comes in?
Yes, but it really takes absolute concentration and confidence, was that 77 bars or 78, so this 79 and I come in on the next one. When there's a lot going on it's really hard. It's not like there's drums, vocals and guitar playing and you think, right I come in after the next chorus.
