I've had a four Stingrays, two 4 string and two 5 strings. I don't own them anymore . They seem to 'work' for some people, and not others. They have a built in sound that's extremely hard to get rid of, if you need to. So they're good basses, but it depends on how versatile you need an instrument to be, and if one would work for you.

There's no a great deal of difference price wise between a new Stick and a Railboard, I like the wooden ones, but the aluminium ones look very cool.

Anyone tried one ?] They look really cool. I've fancied a Stick for ages, looking on the Chapman stick website, they have a special offer on at the moment with the new Railboard stick. It's made of aluminium and looks amazing, but I do like the wooden ones.

Jim [/quote] See your point about cellulose finishes, but most guitars are finished in poly nowadays, your Ernie Ball Musicman is. I read somewhere that Status use it on their basses before shipping. Who's to know that a bottle of guitar polish doesn't contain the same stuff as furniture polish ? Just bottled and packaged and overpriced ?

Mr Sheen (or equivalent) from the supermarket, I'm guessing it's all pretty much the same, regardless of how it's packaged and advertised. It's all I use anyway.

I mean so that I can avoid being messed about regarding my refund, I've heard that the Italian postal device isn't too reliable.

Following on from my broken down amp thread. The seller has agreed I can send it back, presumably I'll then get a refund. The shop I bought it from is in Italy, what's the best way to go about shipping it ?

It's a Markbass F500. The seller has agreed that I can send it back.

To be honest I don't mind paying the return postage, it's a very light amp and not too big. I'm just concerned about getting a refund on the amp itself.

The fault is intermittent, it was there briefly on Sunday, then again this afternoon.

[/quote] It's 2nd hand but advertised as 'like new'. I bought some jeans from Ebay last year, they were never sent and the seller ignored my communications. I claimed off my bank having paid by debit card, they gave me my money back. This transaction was bank funded though.
