1. I've got some transcriptions that I can dig out, won't be until Friday though. It's not tab either, hope that's not a problem.
2. I've wondered if it's not possible to just have one mounted on a plated without any real modification, covering the existing side hole ?
3.
Planet Waves have been implicated in this respect. Allegedly.
That's what my thread was about http://basschat.co.uk/topic/210655-planet-waves-cables/page__hl__trb6p__fromsearch__1 The tip bit of the plug is a lot smaller than the corresponding bit on a neutrik plug, and wasn't making proper contact inside the barrel.
4. I have stripy paint, maybe you could go left to right with one coat, and up and down with the next, that may give a kind of tartan effect .
5. I had to have the one on my TRB replaced, though in the end it may have been the jack plug. See my post here http://basschat.co.uk/topic/210655-planet-waves-cables/page__hl__trb6p__fromsearch__1
6. So when it disappears off the screen after a day or so, you have to post another .
7. I just got a mayones 6 string in a trade, I gotta say it's an amazing instrument !
8. I'd consider Yamaha and ibanez maybe. Definitely buy used though.
9. Well done .
10. Where have you got into ?
11.
Your in the wrong thread mate. This is for the most beautiful bass!
What are those ? The 2nd one days looks cool !
12. You really need to try a few out, not just one but a few . I have 3, and they're all different, each has different string spacing and neck width etc. Yamaha's are really nice, I can't comment on the TRB1006 models, I've never played one, but I have a very early TRB6P model that's a beautiful instrument, but it does have a very wide neck and wide string spacing that some people would struggle with. My Modulus has narrow string spacing and a beautiful slim neck, as does my Mayones. You also need to consider technique, it's a different beast to a 5 string, and totally different to a 4 string, though there is a 4 string there, just hiding between the 2 new strings .
13. I got an intellitouch PT10, it cost about £10 from Amazon. I believe Michael Manring uses them, he has some very weird tunings, so if it's good enough for him . Tracks my low B extremely well. Also changes colour to green when you're in tune.
14. Very envious
15. Ebony fretboard ? What are the pickups and electronics like ? I can imagine this is going to be similar quality to the USA basses. I'd really like a Tobias or one of his current basses.
16. Nice . I tried a Tobias Toby Pro 6 once, that was nice, but I should imagine this would be in a different league, being Japanese and the Toby Pro's being Korean. Congratulations on a nice bass !
17. Sounds cool, I've always liked the look of Tobias basses.
18. It's the same on here though. I recently advertised a couple of basses for trade, you wouldn't believe the low priced basses I was offered, despite my requirements being quite specifically stated in the adverts.
19.
I always use AbeBooks for second hand books. http://www.abebooks....nging+technique A lot of the shops are US based but you usually get a decent price.
That's brilliant, thanks !
20. There's a specific textbook that's been recommended to me. There's one on Amazon for over £60, which is too expensive for me. Anyone know a good site for secondhand books, or a good shop ? It's this one by the way http://www.amazon.co.uk/Modern-arranging-technique-comprehensive-orchestration/dp/B0007DU0SM/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1387114264&sr=1-2&keywords=modern+arranging+technique
21. From my experience of auditioning to get into uni, and from doing exams, the tutor knows exactly what you're up against, and isn't expecting you to be the next Jimmy Haslip or Tom Kennedy. Just put your ideas across is a coherent manner, without shooting from one to another in a kind of zigzag pathway. I do get nervous at auditions and in exams, but they see past that, they wouldn't be in their posts otherwise.
22.
Hi, String spacing is 16.5mm. I'm based in North Acton, West London. I'm out and about right now, so I'll have to measure the neck when I get home. I don't have callipers to measure depth, but I can tell you that it feels flatter than the current basses. If you'd like to visit the bass, that can be arranged. Decent cup of tea to be had, too.
Hi, It's the string spacing that's most important, I can gauge the neck width from that, sounds about right. I'll have a think, though it was really a fretless that I was after .
23. Id say the original is in G. G/Bm/D/Dsus4 or something like that anyway for the verse.
24. What's the neck width and string spacing like ? Whereabouts in London are you please ?
