  1. Also on YouTube.
  2. Solo 6 string bass tuned C F Eb Bb GC. My bass is a Wood n Tronics Chronos 6. Reverb from a Mod Devices Dwarf. Recorded in one take this afternoon. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CvX8pnCtxf-/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
  3. I lecture in music production in my day job. I often bring up Prince’s recordings to my students. There's never anything there that shouldn't be there. Slightly off-topic. Check out Susan Roger’s book ‘This Is What It Sounds Like’. She was Prince’s staff engineer for some of his greatest recordings.
  4. Intel. This gives more information. https://support.apple.com/kb/SP649?locale=en_GB
  5. I lecture in music production in a music college. A colleague of mine has exactly the same model from the same year that he uses every day, for work and music production. I think 2012 was a particularly good year for MacBooks. The only reason I switched is that I travel to work by bus and train, and wanted something lighter. I did consider keeping this one as a spare or for live work. It seems a bit daft to just keep it sitting in a cupboard unused though.
  6. I’ve taken screenshots for you. I believe on this model you can increase the RAM. To be honest, I’ve never felt the need to. Some of my PhD work was running some pretty large Logic Pro projects with 60 or 70 tracks, it never missed a beat.
  7. This was bought new on NYE 2012 from the Apple Store in Birmingham. It’s always worked faultlessly and has always been well looked after. It has a new SSD installed by an accredited Apple service centre about 5 years ago, and had a new hard drive cable fitted about 9 months ago. It’s in pretty good cosmetic condition, except for a small dink in the one corner. It has only ever been used for music creation using Logic Pro and Reaper. It works fabulously. I teach music production and composition at a music college and take my MacBook in with me every day. I therefore bought a new and much lighter MacBook Air for this, otherwise I would still be using this one. It comes complete with the power supply and a selection of good quality carry cases/sleeves. I would prefer collection from Birmingham where prospective buyers can try before they buy. The ‘cat’ by the Apple logo is just a sticker that will peel off.
  8. Like new, used just once. Collection from Birmingham welcome.
  9. Having been there in November a few years ago, I can understand why.
  10. Don’t get the TE Elf. I had one briefly. You could hear the fan from downstairs and two rooms away.
  11. Yes! ‘Twas you I got them from. My Overwater for your Sei bass….I think.
  12. Without taking them apart I honestly don’t know. I have neither the skills or the tools to do that, and my dad’s hidden his hammer from me. Someone with the skills and tools could do it I guess, but wouldn’t they need to build a new case for them to sit in?
  13. Bought new a couple of years ago during my foray into double bass playing. I doubt it was used for more than 30 minutes. I found its inordinately loud click annoying and reverted back to using the metronome app on my iPhone.
  14. I don’t know. I can’t even remember who I got them off to ask. They seem pretty nicely made.
  15. I was given these in a trade deal ages ago and promptly lost them. I came across them today whilst having a sort out. I know nothing about them, other than they’re for a 6 string bass. They measure 11.5cm x 3.5cm. They’re in pretty good condition.
  16. Download it directly from MuseScore dot org. It does do TAB too, I’ve used it with students in the past.

  18. Yes, the subscription is only for the pro version. Make sure you download from MuseScore dot org, and not MuseScore dot com.
  19. I saw an app demonstrated on instagram last week called Tomplay. It looked pretty good for people just starting out. I use MuseScore for my scoring. I’m pretty sure it works with TAB. You could transfer your TAB as an XML file into MuseScore and have it play back the file. Its MIDI instruments are OK.
  20. My dad’s hidden the hammer.
  21. Everyone's a critic.
  22. It doesn't move about either.
