Hi Steve I totally agree about how i have tried to sell things in the past .I did not put much effort but since mr ferret pointed this out i do try now. .................................................................................................... ......... Mr Ferret one question tho .When will you put a stop to this stupidness please..........................................................
Fair enough Ian, I was partially joking but some pics of Trev's Sadowsky would have made a big difference to peoples interest and if you think you can't get hold of people it puts you off. I know you are both busy and all that sh@ggin takes it toll though
mr ferret is on the go again way to much time on your hands
Yea but you and Trevor play into his hands with your sales attempts... Keeps things interesting anyway. Nice bass by the way, was tempted myself but then I gave myself a slap. Steve

Hi Reuel, Well done for the apology which is much appreciated and I am really glad that you now have the bass. A happy ending at last Congrats, Steve

I recently got a Mac after using Windows since it came out and am more than happy with it. Yes you do pay a bit more but no crashes, viruses etc. Steve
heya fellas i see a lot of you folks are leaving negative feedbacks on talkbass to certain folks based on transactions not taking place there. could one of you guys pm me (at talkbass preferably) some of the details of this? although i do want to inform folks about potential shysters out there that may be trying to rip people off, i'm not convinced that the talkbass feedback system should be used in this manner. i'm discussing it with my fellow admins over there, and we'll take into account any information that you care to share with me. thanks john turner forum administrator - talkbass.com
The feedback relating to Jake the Bass is as a result of a sale he made to a guy in the Phillipines called Reuel (IncX username) and its all over the warwick forums as he didn't send the bass until this forum found out who he was. He still has made no attempt to repay any of the shipping costs and I doubt that he will now. I don't want any of you guys over there to fall foul of the same scam. Some details here - the original plea for help thread appears to have been deleted. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=32663 Steve
Last night I took a closer look at the Warwick Profet 3.2 head I bought from Allen_Baker on this site two weeks ago (see the feedback forum if needs be), from whom I have received no response post last week's documented communications. So.... All the display lights are working. The fan is not working. There is no sound at all from either speaker O/P. There is a very distorted, intermitent and low level sound into headphgones form the headphone 0/P. The sound from the headphones is suspiciously like the sound from my hi-fi after I touched two speaker cables together a few years back, so not promising I guess. I've had a few offers of help on this but if any of you have any advice/suggestions at this stage, it'll no doubt save myself and those people time and possibly money Many thanks Chris
Chris, The fan would usually be wired seperately to the outputs as the outputs would all have the amplified stages to go through whereas the fan would probably run straight off the DC power supply. Is it possible that the transformer could be damaged so you are getting less volts? Not enough to power the fan but enough to light the lights? Just guessing really but found this by searching - it may be some help if its the same model. http://www.warwick.de/media/manuals/ProFet...III_diagram.pdf Anyone more competent in electrics than me will probably be able to tell you though. Does a Markbass LMII come with rack 'ears'?
birdy replied to GreeneKing's topic in General Discussion
I was sure that it did but I'll be buggered if I can find them. If you tell me they do I'll keep searching, if not I'll order a pair Thanks in anticipation. Peter
Pretty sure that they are seperate. Mark at bassdirect has them for sale seperately anyway I think. Steve -
My thoughts exactly but there does appear to have been something going on behind the scenes involving PMs to the moderators from what shockwave has said.
Yes it would appear that way. As someone who has donated and who has NOT been in touch with the mods or anyone regarding this via PM I would like my view on this to be known. I donated to help Incx get his bass back to him. I would have thought that any customs bills would have been budgeted for by him as part of the initial deal but now we know that the bass was to be undervalued and so therefore we have a problem. I am more than happy that my donation goes towards these customs bills in order that he gets the bass but am not happy that any money of mine goes towards anyones credit cards bills as in my opinion there is a big difference. Lets not forget that the culprit in all of this is still the man who was 'eternally sorry' but to date has offered NOTHING in the way of help or donation to anyone. Steve

Now for sale GK 700RB II & Fender Tuner in 4u rack
birdy replied to Delberthot's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
I owned a GK 700 RB II for a while and it was a great loud amp. I sold mine rather too cheaply for £300 plus P&P and I have seen them tend to go for around the £350 mark previously. No idea on the tuner but hope the above helps in some way. EDIT: maybe £350 is a little optimistic as they are £390 new at soundslive. Steve -
Agree with this Chris. My eyes have been opened in the last month or so on here and I will now be a lot more wary who I sell to or buy from. I think I 'know' who the definate good guys (pretty much all the regulars) are on the forum and would sell/buy from them without a second thought but from now on if I don't know you I will be very careful. One thing with regards to feedback is that its hard to find - or is it just me? Say I leave a thread titled Birdys feedback unless I include Birdy within the thread then no one can find it by using the search function? This is why you maybe get 4 or 5 threads for the same person. One solution might be to alphabetise (is that a word?) the forum in a similar manner to the review section possibly? Steve
Which issue are we up to? Last one I got was Trujillo and the massive collection of 'metal' basses. Was that the most recent? It can't be two months since that arrived can it?
Yea the last one I had was the 'metal' basses one and I am pretty sure there is a newer one now out as EBS_Freak's GB won the battle of the fivers so I am told. My F bass seriously damaged...Neck broken!
birdy replied to geoffbassist's topic in General Discussion
Geoff, If you are stuck you can borrow a 4 string CIJ Fender jazz from me. Its got one fret that buzzes really badly but apart from that it plays ok and has a great tone relative to what it cost. Drop me a PM if you need any help and we will sort something out. Hopefully someone a bit more local will offer to help you out worst case. Sorry to hear about this. Steve -
What tragic luck!
Could have been worse they could have thrown in a Warwick bass as well
-
Yeah, I didn't get my last copy with Trujillo on the cover either. I emailed to complain and got the copy a couple of days later. Followed a few days after by the new issue. Maybe BGM are having a few postal problems. Bloody irritating though, when Borders have it in store, and I, as a subscriber, still haven't recieved mine in the post. Hope it all gets sorted soon.
Thanks, I have just sent another polite eMail so we will see what happens..... Steve

Reading some posts from a week or so ago there is a new issue out with the battle of the fivers in etc. Haven't received mine OR a back issue I ordered when I re-subscribed although I did get one issue a couple of months ago and they confirmed payment etc. I eMailed them last week and no reply on this. Anyone else in the same boat? I know some people have had two copies :-( Thanks Steve

Yea I noticed the picture of the white one above with the Tort guard in has screws after I posted. Must admit I am a sucker for a pickguard personally. Steve
-
As someone who contributed towards the shipment of this bass I am not really bothered if you keep the £100 because the goal of getting the bass too you has been achieved but surely you would have had to pay the $480 if and when Jake had shipped you the bass? Any news on whether Jake is going to pay for the shipping yet? The more I read on these forums the more I am likely to only deal with people I know unless face to face. Steve
-
With or without? ...and I reckon a tort guard is in order...?
I can't see any screw heads on the guard - how is it fixed to the body, any idea? Probably a stupid question! Steve
-
<sarcasm>I hope that you are enjoying your rig.</sarcasm>
commit. Sh*t wrong thread.

I would have said without but you have got me thinking about a tort guard for mine now...

Here are some suggestions. You may think they are terrible but maybe some would be ok. Something like Crazy in Love by Beyonce is in a 'similar' vein and could work. Heart of Glass - Blondie Two can play that game - Bobby Brown Midnight at the Oasis - Brand new heavies Finally - ce ce peniston Something Kinda Ooh - Girls aloud Mr Brightside - The Killers (Jacques lu Cont Thin White Duke Mix) Doctor Beat - Miami Sound machine Dont Cha - The Pussycat dolls Disturbia - Rhianna Voodoo Child - Rogue Traders Symathy for the devil - The Stones Hips Dont Lie - Shakira Rhythm is a dancer - Snap Never Gonna Let you go - Tina Moore Boogie Tonight - Tweet The reason why i know all these tunes is because I DJ quite a lot  To be fair I like most genres of music. Anyway some of the above may be some inspiration but I could be missing the point completely. Steve
