At the moment I have three basses which are worth..... Alleva LG4 £2800 Fender Jazz 1977 £2000 CIJ Jazz £300 So around the £5k mark. What I have spent and lost over the years is very depressing but I have enjoyed it :-)

Did you get that bass from a guy in the UK (Wales if I remember)? I had an identical one that I sold via Ebay about 4/5 years ago. Nice bass! -
I had one for a while. Great playability, very versatile but didn't sit well in the mix of the band that I was in so I sold it.

Its an Indian Rosewood board which is slightly brighter than the Brazilian to my ears. Its also nice and light which is a big bonus for long gigs!!

Ian, if you tried to weigh the bass on its own that probably wont work. Try weighing yourself first and note the weight and then weigh yourself holding the bass. The difference should be the weight of the bass!! Steve

Have you considered sending this to Mark at Bass Direct to sell for you? He will obviously want commission on top but he is the Nordy UK dealer and will probably sell this relatively easily for more money than you expect? Just an idea. This bass has to be worth around £1200 second hand, if he sells it for that and you get £1000 everyones a winner! Steve

Mark has done me a massive personal favour recently which I don't want to go into detail about but suffice to say he helped someone who he had never before when he could easily have not bothered. I bought the 4U version of this from Mark and it sits on the IP fantastically! Can you possibly put up one or two pics of each bass in the thread? It would definately help your cause from my experience of these things. Also, if someone wants to buy one of your basses and your relative brings it over how will payment occur? I presume cash on pick up would be the way forwards here?
