Well, my clear out of unused items continue. To be straight, I'm not sure I want to let this go. However, I'm still looking for a real nice Jazz bass so will entertain trades for: > 60's Jazz (cash your way) > early 70's jazz or > Custom Shop relic (plus cash) > Pre EB Musicman Stingray (plus cash) > high quality Jazz clone, e.g. Sadowsky NYC > fretless Wal Custom This bass is immaculate - I purchased her new from the bass centre four and a half years ago and have only played her very lightly at home. This particular bass was handpicked from five that the Alembic distributor brought over to the Bass Centre for me to try and has the most striking Walnut top you are likely to see anywhere. Also equipped with red LED's down the side of the fretboard. Quite simply a wonderful bass that is getting no use whatsoever.

Up for sale is my TL Audio 5021 Stereo valve compressor. Been sitting in my back up rack alongside my Eden WT400 (which is also up for sale). I have occassionally taken it out to gigs and the unit performed peerlessly. The following e-bay auction gives a good description of this top quality studio compressor that would be ideal in a bass rack. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TL-AUDIO-IVORY-5021-...Q2em118Q2el1247 Will sell for 225 pounds shipped if no bids have been entered

Up on the block is my EA CXL112 350 watt cab. Extremely portable and easily handles the low B remaining clean and punchy at high volume. It has had very little use and is in excellent condition. Sell for 400 pounds. Full details can be found: http://www.overwater.co.uk/euphonic_audio_cxl_112e.htm
Its quite a simple equation: Warwick = C***
Pretty ignorant comment but hey, who cares what others think. Back to the question, Warwick makes different flavours at each level. I would say that their top of the range are the Thru' Neck models, followed by the European made bolt on's and then the far east made Rockbass. Within each level it really is personal preference.

Yep, you live and learn. To be honest I have got some great deals from e-bay in the past without thinking about the seller. Also, that's life and I really thought that a bass of that quality would attract higher bids - there were 64 watchers! A number of people e-mailed me after the auction and one person wanted me not to go through offering 750 if I pulled out and sold direct to them! Can't understand why they didn't just bid and I'm not one for breaking trust. Anyhow, it's done and move on. I doubt if I will play the 'free market' game again on e-bay and put a decent reserve on next time. Thinking of moving my Alembc Mark King bass and I won't make the same mistake with that one!

I prefer Stingrays personally, especially the pre EB with through body stringing. You can't go wrong with either a Stingray or a Sterling. I've never tried a Bongo though, and they look fun.
Hi guys, I'm looking for another bass to add to my collection of CIJ P body/J neck 62 reissue, highly modified SX Jazz and OLP Levin. I can't decide between a Geddy Lee and a Gibson money bass (the blue one). I am pretty certain I will like the Geddy, but the Gibson looks gorgeous, is in blue (fav colour for a bass), and is a limited edition (supposedly a J like neck too). Can get both basses for around £600 (the Gibson is closer to £500). What do you think? Obviously neither are local enough to try...
I have tried the Geddy Lee and this is a great bass for the money. The Gibson looks nice but they don't have a reputation for putting out basses that stand the test of time - more niche basses that tend to be quirky. However, you do have a jazz bass already so maybe the Gibson will give you something a little different.

Hi, I have been in the US for the past three years and got into a number of their forums - talkbass and TGP. I'm now back in blighty and came across this site which looks cool. Landed on Wednesday and had my first gig last night! Looking forward to the shippers arriving with the stuff I picked up stateside so I can get going with that.
