  1. Thanks! I’ve had a few of the vertical 215s but the slightly newer ones with the removable front panels. Great sounding cabs.
  2. The massive, weighty cab quest/collecting is at an end. I think I’ve finally scratched the itch. This cab was the final ‘must have/try’ cab that I’d lusted after as a young player. It took me 35 years to find one of them. I drove to London to collect it in December. It came with a blown driver and missing one piece of plastic trim. Thankfully this one didn’t need re tolexing. Only a couple of small nicks which I was able to glue down. the plastic trim was impossible to find. A very flat ‘h’ shape with a coloured insert. I had to create the profile with 3 separate pieces of plastic trim and then get the colour matched and ended up painting both trims so the matched. The colour is remarkably close but the remaining trim had been non uniformly faded/stained with nicotine. the grill frame had cracked but only required gluing. I added some wooden fillets to the baffle as the grill and whole front is angled back and was Probably the cause of the crack as it wasn’t supported and difference of about 20mm between the top and bottom. Baffle painted, new 600w eminence installed and the Badge attached, I’d bought the badge around 15 years ago ’just in case’. These cab restorations often end in great disappointment when I play them in a band context. This wasn’t the case with this. Very loud and consistent timbre. It’s a great cab and now Part of the ‘keepers’. There is no other cab I fancy and I’m no longer searching. That said, if a second one came along or a second peavey 3620? 🤣
  3. Neither are lightweight basses but I never weigh basses, I think it’s so it doesn’t become a psychological issue for me. I’m fortunate enough to not be bothered physically by weight but could quite easily let it become something that would bother me if you know what I mean.
  4. Two recent acquisitions. First came the BB2000 (from Alex Carr). I’d lusted after a BB2000 since receiving their catalogue when Making Music Magazine did the old business reply card system. As a young musician, I gazed/drooled for hours at the BB pages. I was never into Fenders at the time so I’m not sure why I was so fixated on them. I drove down to Reading and collected this 1982 bass at the beginning of April. What a stunning bass. Change of strings and a Setup to my preferences and it floored me. Stunning tone and playability. The MC924 I drove to a gorgeous village outside Tonbridge on Saturday and brought it home with me. I got it from the original owner who bought it new in 1980. I had an MC900 which I sold foolishly around 20 years ago. They’ve always been in the back of my mind with the intention to replace it. The neck on this one is far superior to the one I sold, the clarity of the tone is so much better than I remember too. Again, string change, Schaller straplock buttons and setup and it’s a beautiful player. Both keepers.

  7. I use them with a DAW, most often Logic and the EXS24 sampler or the ES2 Synth. I have used similar ones with a Moog Minotaur. you can pick up rack sound modules for next to nothing at the moment. Loads of free analogue modelled vst/Audio units available too. Thanks
  8. Gone thanks
  9. Sold locally
  10. It’s a Euro Rebop MM-5. They’re bolt ons. I love it. 35” scale which Musicmans are not so the low B is both tighter physically and sonically. It’s great live, cuts through everything and very full. ive had mine clear lacquered on the body, neck and fingerboard as I don’t like oils and unfinished woods.
  11. Some more pictures from today. FullSizeRender.MOV
  12. I’m the one who took it apart fro the work to get done. I took loads of pictures and the boards marked up as well but as the photos aren’t working I just wanted to double check the connections.
  13. Anyone else got one? I’m after an internal picture please? Mine needed some repairs and was Dismantled, come the time to put it back together the pictures appear to be corrupt and cant Be opened 🙄 the multi plugs are fine and only go to one location each. It’s the other plugs (power) I need their locations on the main board please
  14. This is the last week to buy this bass at this price and on here. I will be taking the bass to The Bass Gallery where it will be listed for £2625. If you’re considering it please get in touch before next week. Thanks
  15. If only my fretless Ray would sell I’d have this like a shot 😍 GLWTS
  16. It is in a couple of pictures. I’d put a white Pearl guard on to try but didn’t like it so overlayed the original white ones for the pictures.
  17. Do you know what the manufacturer of the castors is? It has the plates but no castors. Thanks
