2. I would have just 3 basses, My Status Ray, My Overwater Fusion and My 65 Precision. All 3 are the go to for every gig. why did it take nearly 27 years to get there? I managed to settle on a rig 18 years ago.
3. Just bought this off Dan2112. I have been gassing after one for a couple of years. I love it.
4. Just bought a Jack Casady bass off Dan. I think its the 3rd thing I have bought off him and to be honest I cant recommend him highly enough. Great communications and a great bloke to deal with. Dave

HH 2x15

Hello Does anyone own one of these 215s? I heard one years ago and remember it was a huge sound, huge box, but still a huge sound. I would love to try one, I have an HH 412 and its a great cab, I used to have the older 215 without the scoop but it was very quiet and muffled and a disappointing sound. Cheers Dave
6. I have one on an 80s 2 band. Mine sounds amazing, detail and cleaner high frequency, I dial the treble back about 50% and there is a clarity or definition in the lower mid range. Play great and similar feel, I have all my MM necks lacquered anyway so there's little difference. Weight wise, they are heavier but not too much. Dave
7.
<geordie> That's a proper canny bass. Geet lush an that like. </geordie>
Fixed
8.
Just a couple of keyboards then
There are 2.5 keyboard players, its a Floyd tribute, , one main, one samples and pads and the .5 does guitar keys and some vox too. We could get away with 2 but you know............................
Jealous! You guys have one hell of a set-up!

Nice big room that! I'm a bit jealous. Rockwool (or RockRULE as I've just started to call it!), is amazing stuff. Completely changed the sound of our room.
Thanks, to be honest its been done on a shoe string, the insulation cost about £120, fabric so far about £70, paint was free as the lead guitarist is a decorator and gets end of colours free cause the company has to pay to dispose of it as its classed as commercial hazardous waste????? And the excessive amounts of carpets and underlay were free from the carpet shop out the back of my street, they are remnants and old (good nick) carpets removed from houses, given a quick shampoo.
Makes my garage look a bit tame ...
Not at all Jack, rooms bigger but you have gone for isolation and a proper job it looks too, Ive just done damage limitation Cheers Dave
9. The roof is the nxt job, im planning on simple 1" polystyrene sheets purely for easy of installation as they wont need painting, are cheap and cover a large area, they will add a slight reflection and reduce sound leakage through the roof Here's last nights rehearsal The last problem is keeping the bloody keyboard player off the desk
10. I decided to treat the walls to absorb and help create isolation, although its an industrial complex there are a few houses near by and we dont want our presence known or to upset the neighbours. Its just simple 38x25mm battens with Rockwool RW3 30mm slabs between and fabric stretched over. Very effective in reducing the reflections the room is very dead. Leaky bit repaired on one side of the room just waiting for the other side to be done, this opened up the possibility of allowing all gear to be set up permanently of 3 bands as I decided to rent out 2 nights to help cover the rent.
11. My band lost our original hired rehearsal space due to compulsory purchase of the building so we needed somewhere but didn't want another hire space so we looked for a permanent home. This space was known to me as an ex student used to rent it for a rehearsal space but had vacated it. It very generous in size but wasnt treated or cleaned at all Cleaned and with gear initially moved in. We decided upon initial decoration to cheer the place up, but thi would be hampered by the leaking roof at either side of the pitched roof area but the landlord would in time repair this.
12. I have just left college teaching after 17 years. Its a very fragile place at the moment within institution. Private teaching is a different kettle of fish. There are practical things that "could" help like a teaching qualification which will teach you about learning styles and theories, i.e. everyone learns things in different ways or needs things explained in varied contexts. You may find this useful, but to be honest someone with good communication and interpersonal skills will have this knowledge already subconsciously. Im a firm believer that if you can convey the information with a passion and are an expert in knowledge then you have ability to be a good teacher. Lessons have to be enjoyable as well as informative, if you arent enjoying teaching them then its unlikely the pupil will enjoy learning. One thing that I would say is very important is a CRB check particularly if you aren't affiliated to a school or college. In today's litigious society it gives people confidence and shows you are aware of professional expectations i feel. Cheers Dave
13. My newly finished and newly up for sale 1984, USA 57 RI, damn gas!

Move along, nothing to see here
16. Here it is with the custom made guard (57 hole pattern) and hipshot. Dave Wilson has excelled himself AGAIN with the paint and filling on the body, from what looked like a ploughed field to a mirror! Its got a new CTS and cloth circuit too, sounds beautiful, plays wonderfully too, good action on it. Im very pleased.
17. I found a couple more pics, hope you dont mind me posting them?

20. Just bought a Peavey cab off Joe. A very easy transaction and a lovely bloke. Cheers mate.
21.
I'm all spent out but that is one lovely looking bass. Good luck with your sale
Its is a stunning looking bass with a holographic depth to the flaming. It also has one of the fullest Wal sounds I have come across, not just the usual lower mid poke but buckets of bottom end and highs. The neck has quite a pronounced V shape but a wide flat board and to be honest I found it a dream to skip around on. Good luck with the swap/sale mate.
22. This came out of a 96 Jazz, Fender 50th. Anniversary bass, was replaced with an East Retro, so the wiring wasn't touched with only the pickup wires removed. Lovely Bakelite style knobs, not the smaller modern repros. In great condition, I have no idea what to ask so I will put it up for swaps WHY? Cheers Dave
23.
Grrrrr...two new basses bought in the past couple of months, I had meant to get around to buying this beauty!
There is still time Chris
