What's the John Marley being used for these days?
We have repopulated studios 2,3,4,7 and 8 as you knew them with full Pro Tools HD systems. Lovely facility.
Aye, living Corbridge, working Hexham, now with two little 'uns. But a mini bass day? Surely it's time for another proper North-East bash! Where's the North-East Chapter's social secretary when you need him? Michael? Michael?!
We could do one in studio 1 (was studio 8 to you) Lovely big live room and the potential to record.

QUOTE (BottomEndian @ Jun 16 2010, 12:35 PM) How's you? You still at the college? Hmmmm yes QUOTE (BottomEndian @ Jun 16 2010, 12:35 PM) BTW, can you confirm... was the Hondo your first bass? And what year's it from? Well, as you know im a greedy collector, even back then (1984) this was my 3rd bass, Kay Ric copy first Hondo 830 deluxe 2nd then this. You got the 3rd but better one, the one i kept had dimarzios in but this had the Grover machine heads and better neck but less sentimental attachment though. Love the look of the AGCs tried one out a few years ago and would love to gig one, you will have to let me know when your next local gig is would be great to see you and tim again. You still up at Hexham way? we should organise a mini bass day if you get down the coast over the summer, Tea, biscuits and bass, not necesarrily in that order. Cheers Dave
Last and definitely least, but still with a strong place in my heart... the Hondo Deluxe Series 830. My first bass, bought from our very own cd_david when he was my college lecturer (and I believe it may well have been his first bass too, back in the early 80s).
Owain? Bloody hell, never made the connection, how you doing mate?
is this the one was on ebay last week?
It is. re covered in a grey fabric material with aluminium edging?, all of which has been removed now to leave a horrible sticky residue. Im going to leave the glue to hopefully cure for a few week before starting to sort out the woodwork before covering again. which is why i was after close ups of tolex pattern, where the joins are etc. Cheers Dave

Rickenbacker 3001 - Excellent condition and all original!
cd_david replied to faceman's topic in Basses For Sale
Thanks guys, the photos reminded me what a beauty it is! I always get confused with the 3000 and 3001 Clarky, I'm guessing the neck/body size are the only difference. Either way, it's a cracking rock bass, even better with a pick. With my 4003 and StingRay I get all the tones I want so it's not really needed at the moment. So yeah, any questions let me know!
What are the 3 controls? -
+1 on the mouse pad (or try ebay during the next blue moon! ). That's certainly a very nice looking Ray. Do you know the year, at all? Not sure about the plain white guard on the natural body, to be perfectly honest. But that's just me!
Im not sure if Ernie Ball now do them as a spare part due to the release of the new Classic Ray? or +1 on the mouse pad. Cheers Dave
Bit annoying, the purple SR5 being the second SR5 i have owned, both had problems where the G string slot on the nut was cut too close to the edge of the fingerboard. I use quite light G's (30-40) And they slip off the edge very easily.
If its really disappointing then Ill be a gentleman and take the burden off your hands

Bought this recently but have no current use for it, It is not "AS NEW" as described in the original ad, Its is oldish and looks used with the battery cover for the transmitter unit missing. I have had the head stock double end, CNC made plugs inserted to the old holes and then flamed veneers front and back and then gloss lacquered both sides and the back of the neck. This could be easily re drilled back to 4 string or continue with the 8 string conversion. (All work by Dave Wilson Guitars) Unfortunately now need to sell
