All PM's responded to. Sorry for lateness of replies but have been away for a few days and had limited access to internet. This is a complex deal, I need to sell ALL 3 basses to make another deal to happen and im not keen on letting them go by themselves cos i cant afford to make a short fall in cash and im not disciplined enough to save the money . I currently have buyers lined up for both the Vigier and Overwater so if i can move the Walnut i can move on my deal and let them all go. Cheers Dave
Ok, I've been toying with this for a while as I've been thinking of also going for a fretted 4-string Ray. But I do love my fretless Ray too! However, it's not getting quite as much use at the moment, so maybe...?? The pic in my sig shows it without the tort guard (click to see larger) so I've added a couple here too. Only problem might be the distance between us as I'm always very nervous with couriers etc. If it's not quite what you're after, no worries. Steve.
Thanks for the offer Steve, its a lovely bass, i think i would prefer a colour as opposed to natural atm. Thanks for the offer Cheers Dave
were u able to counteract this by rolling treble back on your bass?
Yes i could, it had a very usable sound especially when used with my Sansamp but my mistake, mine was a Bassmaster 30 watt amp as below. Cheers Dave

Been after one of these for years ever since i blew up two Bassman 135s in the early 90s. Gorgeous, deep and warm. Using this one solely for in house and recording, Comes with the original vinyl cover and is in great nick. Sounds great through my HH 4x12b but might look for fender silver grill 412 or 215. Thanks to Charla for the sale.

Bought a Fender Bassman tonight from Charla, collected it from his house after numerous detailed emails. What a lovely bloke and what a great amp Cheers Mate Dave

I owned one for a few months and had it restored/ covering and capacitors. Very loud amp but also VERY bright, had to have the bass on full and treble on 0 to get a usable tone.

This is definitely a real musicman case I must admit i was surprised, both by the difference in sizes of ray and sterlings, (longer top horn on the sterling and body at least 1" deeper on upper bout of ray) and i too thought they were interchangeable cases, maybe they are now or were.................. Either way its a great case in great nick and Johns a great bloke ATB Dave
Sorry Old Git, but I'm not sure about this. To me, funk needs space, which is why the original works so well.
+1 I think he ruins it with too many notes, very rare i will say that but the original grooves impeccably and this version sounds like a student over playing on an assessment, trying too hard to be funky. Sorry Dave

http://www.kentonuk.com/ I have used these and a friend (orgon systems) developed products with and for them. These blokes are absolute midi genii??? (spelling) Im not sure of the collective of genius................anyway, they seem to do a kit for every piece of gear or could advise you of possible sources of research. They arent cheap but you have the option of self assembly or they can fit. Hope this helps Dave
Quite like it If the serial is legit its a 61 neck, so as he said its not the original.
I think the serial numbers were on the neck plate until 1975 during that year they moved to the face of the headstock. My 75 Jazz has its serial number on the neck plate and my 78 precision has its on the face of the headstock. -
Surely somebody has a Far East/copy Precision/Jazz of some description they'd like to swap for a slice of genuine Italian acoustic bass cool?
Would love to buy it but am never down the south coast and have no idea when i could make the trip. Good luck mate Dave
