Out of interest - how did you blow the speaker? I used to have a MB 121p and ran it at very high levels without any stress - just wondering if it was in fact a fauly driver.
to tell you the truth , i have no idea how its blown as i very rarely put any volume through it , as i said earlier i play my double bass through it "ROCKABILLY" style but never push it, but iv'e just replaced it with an eminance 12" and i cant hear any differance in the sound quality or WEIGHT !! so i guess thats a result !! thanks for the replys daddios be good Kev , a happy cat !
-
thanks for the reply , to tell you the truth i really only use it as a pre amp for my double bass and im not really that bothered about replacing it with an original speaker , but i would replace it with a good quality alternative , has anyone got any suggestions ?? cheers daddios Ke

Can you 'slap' a Stagg EDB rockabilly-style?
Oh ok then.... No, but I can slap a monkey Happy now? On a more serious note, I have messed about with slapping on my NS Wav and it's not bad. The bridge piezos do pick up a fair amount of the attack and you could always boost the tone control which just makes Wavs clicky sounding anyway Cheers Alun
to tell you the truth , the whole thong about rockabilly slap bass is the slap sound which is the note and the slap ,plus the actual vision of the 3/4 double bass , you can get a good cheap rockabilly set up german bass on ebay for a very good price !! if ya ask me , it's well worth the hassle of humping ya slapbass around the moment ya get onstage and wrap ya legs around the big fat girl.................. rockabilly heaven and a good tip is , go for the k&k rockabilly pick up kit hope this helps kev bucket www.myspace.com/kevbucket -
