Ant_On_Bass

So I'm thinking of blacking out my hardware on my Geddy Jazz and really stealthing it, basically the bridge , tuners and control plate. I was just looking for some advice on what would be good to buy really, I'm not clued up on this stuff so any advice would be welcomed. I'm also having a bit of a problem with the Badass bridge and heavier gauge strings not fitting all the way through it due to the extra wrap around so possibly wouldn't go with a black version of that? I'd like to get some strap locks fitted as well, what are you guys using if any?

I haven't yet Jack, the only half decent guitar shop down where I live is mansons and they can be a bit limited with bass gear really, I'll have to take a trip there and see what cabs they currently have :-) ideally I'd like to have a barefaced but I can't really afford new and their big ones generally don't pop up too often and get snapped up quick :-P

well i've sold my cabs so im now cabless! i need to find something that can cope with the 1000 watts the GK can push (not that i use all of that headroom!)

ah cool i'll have to check some out in that size :-) i just whipped the 135 out the pack, not only is it huge, it wont go fully through the badass bridge, i'd have to grind it, so i'll probably have a look at some other gauges.

Honestly i wouldn't know if it was removable or not :-P im not clued up with this stuff haha but thats a good idea :-D

i've actually got a set of Ernie ball custom gauge 5 string 135, 105, 85, 70, 50 from when i owned my 5 string corvette, do u reckon i could get away with using them? 135 will feel mahooosive and i'm not 100% sure it will fit in the bass nut! i don't really want to file it down, i may have to invest in another bass if it doesnt fit :-P

Hi guys, i was just wondering if you could give me some advice, the guitarist in our band wants to mix up the tunings a bit and start using drop B, i've never really used drop B and i'm not too sure as to what string size i should be looking at getting as im used used to using 105's for our normal tunings so any help would be awesome :-D

Hi all, My current amp is a GK 2001RB with a GK 410RB and GK115RBH (Now gone) i absolutely love the head but the cabs are back breakers and an awkward shape to carry so i'm looking into getting a more compact cab and preferably just the one cab as well, i know nothing about compact cabs so i was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on what would be good to use with my current head?

I'm looking into getting a rack compressor and was just interested to know what you guys use or have used? I'd preferably like to get a rack one to keep everything in one place. I've been on the very informative ovnilab page but it seems the few that I'd like to get my hands on appear to be popular and discontinued :-)

Ok so I just snapped my wire while trying to replace the battery, I've repaired before but the solder for some reason doesn't like sticking to this stuff, so I removed it n bought a couple connectors, foolishly didn't measure length and they dont quite fit, I can't seem to buy any longer than the length I already bought (14.5cm). I'm a total newbie with electrics I don't touch them normally so I dont really know anything about them, I was just wondering where I can get some longer or the wire it's self? Also what are the best ones to buy as they never feel that strong? Cheers Ant
